Take a shot (or eat a candy idk) every time I say I have small hands. This took forever and I was never going to be happy. This video is a little quieter than the others because of the close proximity to the mics. I didn't get as "weird" as I originally intended. What I REALLY want to do is try again to get some stuff done for Halloween. Given that it's two months away...well... let's give it our full effort anyway.
hey... why did you delete some(a lot) of your videos? are they in a separate unlisted playlist/something? I still remember those satirical 'every asmr' sound videos that were unironically good. and that one where you made a costume with horns. I still remember them, but I don't wanna 4get them. please put them back. you've made very unique things that I won't find anywhere else. I don't want that to disappear.
ARDRA please feel free to go all out on the weird / dark / creepy side if you feel like it! I always thought that is what fits you best. I liked a lot of the videos that you deleted and it is a bit sad, but i'm also happy to see you back in action.
You put such an insane amount of care and thought into all of your videos. This is truly next level. I'm so happy to have found you all those years ago. Your content is timeless.
The first time I built a PC I was super nervous about everything. I can't imagine having to also juggle that with meeting all the parameters necessary to make an ASMR video out of it as well. So much respect for your accomplishment here. :D
Same. First build I was ultra careful taking a ton of precautions and making sure everything was perfect. Smash Cut to me now; just jamming parts on so I can be done with it.
This is really fantastic. Never in my life did I think I'd be watching and enjoying an ASMR of a computer build. Very relax, much tingle. Thank you for making this!
I loved every moment of this. I've been building PC's for many, many years now, mostly for my profession. And you sharing your journey was an absolute pleasure to watch. I love that this was your first, and it allowed me to sort of live vicariously through your experience, and brought back the joy of my beginning years to me. Such nostalgia, and beautifully produced on top of it all!
I love the set you built. It's so awesome and goofy to do something like that for essentially just an intro/outro. Also I have to say I'm loving the "regular things" videos. The gummies talk/reviews and now this one have quickly become my favourites!
Ardra I’ve been watching your videos for years, I must have watched your goody bag candy role play so many times, sad to see a lot of your older videos are gone, but thank you for creating such amazing content all these years!
I love watching pc build asmr videos, but they're so hard to find! this was amazing. I love how you were transparent about every small speed-bump you encountered. this was real and raw, like it should be. the audio effect was interesting. I felt like I was listening to Arwen from LotR, lol. It's so refreshing seeing more women into pc building. I hope you enjoyed the fruits of your labor enough to do another build video!
Even after all these years Ardra is still one of the only artist who can effortlessly give me tingles. I’m not saying effortlessly in that there’s no work behind her art. I understand there is almost too much work. But there is just something with the way ardra presents and injects her energy in her work. Even in the darkest of times, when my life and mind were chaotic was she able to bring calm. In my opinion, this artist is very underrated for her talents.
Amazing job for your first build, you definitely did your research and/or had some very good help! You avoided pretty much all of the pitfalls that first time builders fall into. You don't need to be afraid of water cooling, the coolant is non-conductive and you leak test the whole loop before you put any fluid in it. I used to be afraid of it until I did it, it's pretty easy, especially if you go soft tubing. If you are grounding your mat, you probably would have been better off clipping to the metal screw in the corner of your psu (instead of the painted mesh of the back of the psu) as the threads in the screw hole will not be painted, painted metal surfaces are not usually very good conductors.
Wow... a mixing of tech, and ASMR... two things I love. I also couldn't help but smile when I saw you were using a Notcua cooler... in fact, you're using the exact one that I used for my first powerful computer build years ago. Definitely hit me with a bit of nostalgia, and your voice just melded right along with that.
I'm here since beloved Heather Feather recommended you, and your art never failed me to sleep better, sometimes it was the only thing helping me sleep 🙏🏻❤️ Thank you!
All of your videos are amazing. This one as well. Great job! I always look forward to your new content. It’s like seeing an old friend again after a long time.
Damn! You bought a bunch of really cool effects to make it look like you were physically inside the computer! That is insanely creative and I adored the video (despite not understanding a word of it). Amazingly done, and I hope the computer treats you well!
I really love how educational and calming this video was. I was having a super bad day and this really lifted my mood. Thank you for sharing this and offering so many helpful tips! P.S. Water cooling can be a scary thing when you consider how damage a simple leak can do, but it's not so bad or difficult (Usually). I built in the same case using the EK 360 D-RGB AIO mounted to the front of my case using Noctua fans to pull in air to cool the radiator. It's been a year now since building this rig with the AIO, but I haven't experienced any leaks or malfunctions, though it also helped that I carefully inspected the AIO out of the box and tested it out side of the build to make sure there were no leaks. Even though I love AIOs, I'm still super paranoid and so, I often triple check the connections and radiator. I love your choice in tower cooler though, imo I think your cpu cooler is a better long term choice vs my AIO and definitely seems to perform as well as my AIO.
Really nice video, very detailed. As a just computer build video this is very good, with the added asmr aspect it's excellent in my humble opinion(from a computer technician) Well done!
Oh wow it is so awesome to see you making videos again! You are one of my all time favorite content creators. You did an amazing job with your computer also, way better than I could do. I asked my friend who works professionally in the computer field about grounding and noise canceling mounts out of curiosity. He said it is not a big deal and you can actually use little rubber washers from any hardware store under the screw. Also I guess you can ground yourself by wearing rubber soled shoes and work on your build on a non carpeted floor on a hard table, and that just tapping both hands to a metal table or metal rod will discharge any static electricity? Wild. Anyways I am so happy you are back.
Just when you think maybe Ardra isn't the best ASMRtist ever, maybe others have caught up style/vibe/aesthetic/sound/content/art-wise, something like this comes out and slaps that thought from your mind. Thank you for uploading again!

It adds a bit of quirkiness and uniqueness to an otherwise mundane component. Also it instantly identifies it as a Noctua product amongst a plethora of other fans. I think it was a smart move by Noctua although I also see why it can be aesthetically polarizing for some who have primarily associated black and grey colors with tech

If you ever get the water cooling bug, feel free to make a post on Patreon and I'll reply with a bunch of links, tips and tricks, etc. I've been building custom loops for about 6 years at this point, so I know the way. For example there is now a fluid reservoir with a vacuum pump that can stop 99.99% of leaks (Aquacomputer Leakshield). This device also makes filling and draining the fluid far easier. That company makes a suite of terrific products. You can also use soft neoprene tubing instead of bending the hard acrylic, which is definitely a challenge. All you need is scissors and a tape measure. The soft tubing doesn't look as fancy, but it can still look good if done right. You can also use custom cable sleeving on top of the soft tubing to give it a nice look. Final point for, instead of testing for leaks with a system full of fluid, a better method is to use an air pressure leak tester. This will better find smaller leaks. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.
thermal paste application methods are like opinions, there's so many different ones out there. People will swear their configuration of paste outperforms other configurations by several degrees. I'm a 5 points or a blob on a lazy day kind of guy myself.
my favorite way of applying thermal paste is simply spreading it manually with the little plastic spatula that comes with thermal paste when you buy it, most reliable method for me to make sure 100% of the CPU is covered in paste. also, too much paste is always better then too little paste. besides the mess that too much paste can give, there is no downsides to too much paste.

this is the perfect content; if there's one thing i know, it's how to overthink a build and manage to scuff it up anyway. and that set - are you serious!? beautiful work, as always!
Beautiful build video! I think you did a great job and there's little I would have done substantially different. The only suggestion I have is to move the top fan all the way to the back top corner of the case, which may slightly improve your CPU temperatures. In it's current position, that top fan may be ejecting cold air from the case before it can reach and cool your CPU.
Great Video! If you're paranoid about being electrocuted you should really ISOLATE yourself from ground as best as possible think rubber, not give a path to ground through your wrists. Typically tapping the side of the metal case is enough to discharge any static charge you have in your body. Rubber soled shoes and insulated tools are your friend.
I built my PC too, same one I'm currently watching this on, back in 2014. Unfortunately my GTX 980 just randomly died mid-game a few years ago so I'm just using a cheap substitute in the meantime. Shortly after that, my Windows BOOT files got corrupted. I too wanted to originally use water/liquid cooling but was far too scared of it leaking so ended up with just using fans. It was definitely a fun challenge, especially when I tried getting my WI-FI adaptor to work but it just refused. Took it to get it swapped, they tested it on their on MB and said it wasn't faulty, tried for 2 more days then it finally worked. I was very meticulous because I didn't have anything grounded either, and everywhere I looked, they were all saying to be grounded to avoid destroying the electrical components.
wym "you didnt have anything grounded"? "Grounding" just means geting rid of excess static, you dont really need special stuff for that. just wear cotton/natural fiber clothing and touch your radiator pipes before delving into your build
I also resist water cooling, even when I ran a business building custom workstations I always pushed clients away from the option because of my anxiety about leakage.
Very well done. You coped with a lot of issues there. Excellent. Next time at least ask the community, the self-builders will happily advise you how to get the biggest bang for the buck. You deserve it :) Not me of course, I'm not a weirdo. Shut up x. Actually a great build for your needs.

Gosh darn I love you. You are funny, smart as heck, and so good at ASMR. I adore you.
Thank you so much 💓
I built my PC too, same one I'm currently watching this on, back in 2014.
Those close up shots are so crisspy
It's very aesthetic, you just laying there, softly talking.
I've missed this. I hope you're doing well.
epic set, epic composition, epic lighting, epic hair :D
My 1st thought was how much effort must have went in to the set. Impressive!!
Thanks for noticing ^_^
So glad to see your videos on TH-cam again!
Still the best asmr on TH-cam after all these years 👌

If you want the full performance of the RAM, turn on the Profile(s) unter X.M.P. on the front page of your BIOS/UEFI :)
Very well done. You coped with a lot of issues there. Excellent. Next time at least ask the community, the self-builders will happily advise you how to get the biggest bang for the buck. You deserve it :) Not me of course, I'm not a weirdo. Shut up x. Actually a great build for your needs.
Computershop: How many fans do you want?
Ardra: Yes!
the interludes were so well done!
This was fascinating and very relaxing. Thank you!!
