As someone who averages about 200 books a year, I can honestly say that the only reason I am able to read so much is because I don't watch TV. So the hours that people spend marathoning TV shows or scrolling through social media, I spend reading. I also have a profession where (while I do have to speak to someone every now and again), my day is mostly uninterrupted with me, my tasks, paperwork, and audiobooks. However, I am the first to say quality reading far surpasses quantity. I feel like if someone reads 1 or 2 great reads a year, it's just as validating as someone who reads 500 books a year with an average of 2.5 star ratings.
Great tips! I also get annoyed at the stupid tips. I don't listen to audiobooks because I just can't pay attention but I personally cannot stand those that say they read like 250 books a year and it was like 80% audio and they ALSO complain about it and admit they couldn't pay attention. 🙄
So many great tips, Shelbey! I loved hearing your story of how you got here and remembered your shelbeyandthebookclub days.Wow! You've come so far!!💜💜💜
I would love to see how you track your reading. My daughter and her friends have started a local book club and as I was going through my physical and audio books, I realized that I've been reading more than I thought. I want to start tracking. Also, I'm glad you covered today's topic.
Just found your channel❤️ and omg love your nails 💚 Love these tips- need to switch my tv watching time to reading time 😅 And yessss if the book ain’t good, don’t finish it 🔥
Talk that talk Shelbey! Reading books does not equal intelligence. It's a hobby to enjoy not a way to gain clout. Thanks for this video!!
Thank you for watching
You covered great tips! Here’s to being kinder to ourselves with something that we enjoy!

You definitely have me hooked on fantasy

I'm definitely a slow reader. On the rare occasion I read in the double digits in one month I end up burnt out.
I feel like this too sometimes but I push through
I buy more books than I read. 😏
Lol buying books is my fav hobby to be honest
Kkkkkkkk I can relate
