Runner introduction starts at 1:05. Run starts at 1:35.
The GB Zelda games hold so much nostalgia for me. I love to see runners show how quickly they can be beaten. Also I never thought to use the Flute on Pol's Voices despite them being clearly the same as the original LoZ enemy.
Man, these games were my childhood. If there isn't a remake after link's awakening I will be quite disappointed
The 7th dungeon was always my favorite because cape. You absolutely destroyed it!
This is my kind of run. Awesome game and great commentary. Hope I see all three of them again in the future; their banter is great and they stay on point throughout! Five stars.
Shoutout to this hilarious commentary!
Holy shit the voice reading the donations is fucking beautiful
What a game.
I loved the rings and different Items.
Also I love GDQ. It's just good in so many ways.
Ages and Seasons are wonderful, and the runners who play them are adorbs. This is wholesome GDQ.
I have never played this zelda, but it looks fun, the run looks super interesting and the couch's commentary aswell as the runner were a great entertainment and gave a good overview
Rose obviously goes to a lot of key parties. That's why she has so many keys.
The dungeon 7 puzzle that is the 4 switches reads something like "below me red, to my right red. Only I shine blue." Hence, only the top left can be blue.
Nintendo should make remakes of the GB Zelda games.
weeeekt No, they are perfect as they are!
What could be cool is a "remake" of Seasons and Ages in one big game. But not just a simple remake. It should be more like a whole new game rethink from scratch to make it possible. The would be so much possibilities in mixing seasons and ages features together, but it'd need some huge amount of work to not make it annoying to the player (cause well, going back and forth from places to places can get annoying really fast).
yeah they should remake link's awakening on the switch, would be cool
Aaaaand wouldn't you know it, Link's Awakening is being remade.
Wish granted
Best Zelda is Seasoned Zelda :D
With 28 Herbs and Spices
ingridients are zelda and seasoning
This was a great run. But when are we getting the linked Seasons AND Ages run?
Swordsmasterguy I was thinking about this too! Linking the two games together makes it so special!
1 player 2 controllers hype?
AlternateHanta I think the op is talking about a successive speedrun using the link system.
Well they did talk about it during the run, and linked game 100% takes about ten hours so nobody really does it
Sour Lyme Considering many people never had the chance to even use the link system, any% is good enough. I for one would love to see one because I had to use emulator to get the full experience.
Nice runner and people on the couch :) So friendly and supportive! Also, I didn't hate the puns :p
"Looks like this Dodongo is Do'done'go" - mghtymth
I hope this game will also get a remake on Nintendo Switch.
Honestly, I was hoping for a linked 100%. But whatevs, I can enjoy any type of speedrun of this great game.
That fanart of HSS skip at 2:02:36 was done so fast
Mightyyyyyyy ily!
Green Zelda is my favorite!
He almost nailed the reference at 1:32:22. Alas, he switched "corner" and "voyage;" good attempt.
Very nice run, no idea how he has memorized every room like this
bazuzu5 lots of practice. If you drive I bet you have every road near your house/work/school memorised.
Awesome.
This was my first ever Zelda game. I remember it. Though I don't think I ever got very far with it xD
Same dude.
It amuses me how quickly you can progress in the oracle games without any huge glitch or bug, and how much time i needed to figure out how to move from A to B lol
17:15 Link found a croissant?
The couch is doing an amazing job of helping Mighty commentate.
I need to buy this game: you made me want to buy it
the golf claps in this are top notch
Probably the only Zelda game I ever personally owned, though to be honest I always preferred Ages over Seasons. Still great to see the game ran at a GDQ. That was a large part of my childhood there.
Omg that dimitry flute song!
I cannot beLIEVE I had to go to bed during the run with a VEGGIE TALES REFERENCE. And such a **good** one at that!!!
(around 1: 31: 00)
Wow the remnants of the Zelda 1 remake are fairly obvious now that I know this was supposed to be a remake.
Dimitri the Dodongo is best partner :))))
his 'omnom' noises bring me life tbh
Makes me wonder, is there a speedrun category of doing both oracle games? Like clearing one, using the password and continuing on the next game.
Yeah, there is a linked category, one for Ages to Seasons and one for Seasons to Ages. The former is more popular cause we get the level 2 sword in the seasons run and get more heart containers because we do more dungeons.
I believe there is. They said that there's a run for linked games 100%, so it'd make sense for there to be one that's just the two non-100%
Actually, I think that the "50/50" buttons aren't 50/50. For me, if I dashed, it worked 100% of the time. Great run btw.
To be honest, I remember beating this game as a child, but I do not remember ever getting through anything on the beach side of the game.... like i remember that stupid multi button wall and not doing any more dungeons after that, but i DO remember getting into the castle and saving Dinn; i wonder if i found some glitch all the way back then
I only played ages growing up so watching this was very confusing
Linked any% would be awesome, does anyone run that?
"I know yall cringimg because i have sword on A"
Me goes out of its way to have sword always on A: whats wrong ?
The game probably cancels block pushing if you hit a diagonal as a hacky patch for being able to push blocks from the wrong direction entirely in link's awakening.
What on earth was that noise coming from the audience on level 4? (About an hour into the run). I thought it was a guy sneezing extremely loud but it happened throughout the dungeon
hi mghty, hope you are doing well today because you are very wonderful
Hi Snowman, you are more wonderful
Wait, in J version of season, you can swing ur sword under water? I would have liked that for the USA version.
At 49:39
Huh I can do that on my copy.
Ages & Seasons double cartridge for the Switch, make it happen Nintendo/capcom !
1:41:42 shoutout to bananas running this game four years ago!
Does Sooraya have any Social Media or Twitch?
These games were considered spinoffs but they are the quintessential Zelda experience. And I would argue that the story is far better than links awakening.
more chunks ore chunks
Can some ELI5 the RNG minute they keep talking about, and the sword swipes, etc.
The guy on the left sounds like Bruce from family guy
Dungeon 2 confused me so much as a kid. Especially those rotating doors
What's everyone's favourite GB/C Zelda game? LA, OoS or OoA? I think my favourite is probably LA. Next up would be OoA and then OoS.
Diamond Dog LADX by far
LA is imo one of the best Zeldas full stop
I like Seasons, Ages, and Link's Awakening in that order.
Jessica I agree with this order.
They're all good, but if you respect the context at all, LA is a masterpiece. It came out on the DMG in '93, years before Pokémon, at a time when most people's idea of a quality handheld was still Tetris. OoS, OoA are solid entries in a renowned series, LA is arguably a milestone in gaming.
Sword on 'A' button master race!
B button, peasant.
pff B button is normie mode .... A is the way to go!
tap A quickly to kill as fast you can
The only moment A is acceptable is when you transfered from or are playing OoA (in casual play, anyway. In a run, you'll have to deal with what works best.)
I've played both Oracle games hundreds of times and I refuse to put the sword on the B button.
01:20:39 "they patched it dude" I ROFLed.
Around the Dancing Dragon Dungeon, to the one person... where's Bugs Bunny when you need him? >:3
If pineapple doesn't belong on pizza then why does literally every pizza restaurant ever have it as an option? You know what doesn't belong on pizza? Sand.
Sand? I don't like sand. It's all coarse, and rough, and irritating. And it gets everywhere.
i liked bananas' run a few years back
1:39:14 That sounds like the most awful land...
At last, I get to see how bad I am at this game compared to others!
Im a terrible person. I read the title as mighty meth...
gameboy zelda > every other zelda
this guy did all I did in one hour which took me probably 5-6 hours
Was I the only one who kept sword on A? It felt weird otherwise
You couldn’t use the sword underwater if on A as that was swimming so having it in b meant you could fight. (In ages the mermaid tail you put it back on A)
This game came out three years after Ocarina of Time.
Y’all could’ve chosen a flying bear and you went with the swimming Dodongo? What’s wrong with you?
Oh god I hated the dance so much. I had to play without sound and it was practically impossible to get right. No wonder I never got dimitri!
1:31:32 Weeeeeelllllllll I've
Never plucked a rooster and I'm not too good at ping-pong
and I've never thrown my mashed potatoes up against the wall
and I've never kissed a chipmunk and I've never gotten head lice
and I've never been to Boston in the fall!
I didn't know capcom made a zelda game.
They made a handful. Both Oracle games, The Four Swords, and Minish Cap were all Capcom.
Ricky is best animal husbando
Why does he always randomly swing the sword they never mention it.
They're gauging what the RNG value is set to to manipulate certain spawns and enemy locations. In the Oracles games, swinging the sword will produce one of three distinct sounds with each completed slash. The order the slash sounds play in is determined by the RNG value, so by slashing and listening to what slash sounds play, the runner can determine (or at least have an educated guess) as to what the current RNG value is, and thus what to expect from spawns, item drops and any number of other things that are dependent on the RNG state.
They did mention why. I'm afraid you'll need to rewatch this whole video again.
TFW no key gf :(
Would she unlock your heart?
DIN IS NOT BETTER THAN NAYRU! Very good speed run though. It took me a year to finish Ages and never finished Seasons. Xx
Nayru best girl.
You are all wrong!!! The best oracle is obviously Farore! How dare everyone ignore her.
"they patched it" lol what
Obviously the carts themselves weren’t patched, but games were sometimes updated during their lifetime, with the updated editions filling in store shelves as the old versions were bought.
One of the more famous examples is Ocarina of Time, which had a dungeon theme that used a sample of an Islamic chant in the initial release, but was updated to replace that theme later on.
Rng rng rng rng rng rng rng sword rng rng rng
Watch them remake oracales games after done with links awakening.
Ages > Seasons
Fight me
Zelda Cd-i >>>>>>> Zelda Ages & Seasons
Hmm, if only there was some way to combine them in such a way that there's no need to argue about which is better, maybe some sort of "linked game".
No, that's crazy talk.
second boss of ages (not 100% sure if it's the second)
the turning head who eats bombs for which you need timing... i'm still traumatized (even though i did it again when i was older and figured it wasn't that hard...)
that boss would be enough to prove Seasons > Ages
Seasons+Ages=best
No need to fight
Link's Awakening DX > Seasons = Ages.
Ages is better
"Could've been a 1:41, but it wasn't." Duh. That's why you said *could have.*
