Thanks for the amazing daily videos, such a refreshing and unique channel. Great advice, so positive and most importantly the ambassador of putting in the miles. Looking forward to 2025.
Re: rainy days in NC, while the PNC gets more rainy days, we often have more total rainfall measured by inches yearly. We get more heavy rain days. Yesterday was no exception. Finishing my 22-miler to a tornado warning was fun.
Amazing list and an amazing year of the TH-cam and mileage grind! Super inspiring! I also have 3 of these shoes in my top 5 of the year (Mach X2, Skyward X, and Glizzy Max). I haven’t been able to try the Puma Magmax or Nike AF3. The 2 others I would add are the Cielo X1 and Puma DNE3. Thanks for an awesome year! Can’t wait for 2025!
The Skyward X is my shoe of the year. My weekly mileage has gone up dramatically since getting it because it’s just so much fun to run in. That’s what makes a great shoe for me. Something that encourages you to just get out there and run, and to have fun while doing it.
Don't change for anyone Don! Great list and great year! Im going to say it again like I did 20K subs ago, im surprised you don't have more subscribers! 2025 is going to be a banger!
I ran my first half marathon in 13 yrs just a couple weeks ago. I planned on wearing the Hoka Mach X2 for the race but I made a game time decision to race in the Hoka Skyward X. The Mach X2 were too narrow for me upfront causing my toes to go numb. The Skyward X were just a pure joy to run in and I PR’d with a time of 1:56:08 👊🏻
Yep, working retail, or any service profession, will make you more tolerant because you've been on the other side. I think kids do this, too, because you have to keep your cool when they have their moments. I find that the Mach 6 fit is OK now if I leave the laces really loose, especially the bottom 2-3 holes. It works because it's snug around the midfoot. I feel like it's not so much the width for me as the sidewalls around the forefoot that I have to open up.
My Hoka Mach 6 are 10 grams different from each other. But the 10.5 fits true to size (earlier color way though). I wonder if it's just manufacturing problems.
the skyflow were weird for me. all my hokas are an 11 but i had to go down to a 10.5 wide in the skyflow. It was a really long shoe. I absolutly love running in it though.
I've spent 29 Euro for a barefoot mafia shoe with a very thin and flat sole which offers no support and I can't heelstrike with it and fore and midfoot running relies only on the strength of my feet. It's only for speed intervals and maybe a 5km tempo run, nothing more than that and no heel striking allowed😅
truth is i know I can get one of these recomendations from Yowana and have a 100% percent satisfaction rate. We're putting in mileage goddamn gotta stride with no regrets!!
I'm here 24 minutes late for a 47 minute video, so all these posters before me haven't watched the whole thing yet! So many of you get watching the second it drops, eh?
I feel like with the mach 6 its better to go true size but in wide even though every other shoe im a regular. Going up in lentgh in the store did nothiing for me but make it longer.
Hmmm Machx2 might be race day for us more average runners? I really like high end shoe foams but don’t need the absolute stiffness of the elite race shoes …. Like my SUperblast 2 will be a while before I try anything else .
nice work man. going to have to sell my glycerin max though, i don't know what it is but the right foot under the ball of the big toe just starts hurting after 5 miles. tried it with different socks etc and i am just like nope not worth the pain if i can't take it 10 miles or more like i can say the mag max
After your prior experience with the Mach 6 I don't understand why you didn't get the "Wide" version that would perfectly fit your foot. 🤷♂ The normal size fit too snug and at least half size smaller.
Nike has lost their minds charging $320 for an Alphafly just because it’s black. I say don’t encourage them by spending that an extra $35 for just a color change. There is no value in that.
I'm slowly increasing my weekly mileage and working increasing my mile pace. I have the Sacouny Guide 17, the Sacouny Tempus, and the Nike Structure 25. I am working on getting the Brooks Glycerine gts. If you know many max cushion stability shoes please let me know
You drop that mag max right after I passed on the size 14 at running warehouse! Now they are out of stock again! Lol How are they compared to the nimbus 26? So far my most comfortable long run shoe (foam) has been the Boston 12. (10-12 miles). Curious if the magmax, nimbus 26, or even deviate 3 (listed at 44 and 34 on RW) would offer more forefoot protection than the B12.
Yea I've been going in all black for years now...Even in the summer months lol. This year during my races I changed it up a little with color because my girlfriend said she got tired of it lol.
Hey man! Great vid, as always, love the more spontaneous feel of your vids! I have a training question: Don't you think your heart rate is a bit too high for a long run? Was that a specific goal of yours maybe? I always kinda try to keep mine under 142 (male, 33) for the entire duration of the long run (easy to aerobic feel), but I see you went north of 160 and even 170 in there. I always thought it would mean higher risk of injury. Does the aerobic threshold expand to higher HRs as you train? So that might have been easy for you?
The coros doesn't always track my heart rate correctly - it was probably tracking my cadence if it said 170 at an 8 minute pace. For context my marathon pace heart rate at a 6:00 mile is around high 160s. This is why I don't train by heart rate - it's just annoying to track. I go by effort
Would you really say that 99% of the 10-1/2s fit? Weren't the Metaspeeds a little small but 11 would be just right? Were tge Valjyries just right or would 11 be better for them?
If you want to skip the "murder" reference 27 times for a 20 minute description of one black shoe that is not on the top 5 - here you go. Start at 28:53. You're welcome
Happy new year bro. My current lineup is; Daily - Adidas SL2 Recovery - Puma Magmax Likely gonna sell the Rebel v4. OK shoe but I just prefer the SL2 at everything. What would people suggest the type of addition to my lineup? I'm thinking something like the Zoom Fly 6, a plated trainer. Previously loved the SC Trainer v1 so I could revisit that line..
Unbelievable work this year man. Undisputed hardest working shoetuber in the game. Happy new year to you and your family dude.
Thanks for the amazing daily videos, such a refreshing and unique channel. Great advice, so positive and most importantly the ambassador of putting in the miles. Looking forward to 2025.
"I guess you shouldn't say ‘hailing from Germany’"😂😂
Hoka had a great year. Skyward X, Mach X2 and Cielo X1 make for me great shoe rotation
Re: rainy days in NC, while the PNC gets more rainy days, we often have more total rainfall measured by inches yearly. We get more heavy rain days. Yesterday was no exception. Finishing my 22-miler to a tornado warning was fun.
Great stat! Didn't know that one. Also such a brutal storm - good on you for getting through a full 22 in that 💪🏽
First job, Dunking Donuts in Weymouth, MA! I get it bro…I get it lol.
Great work this year! Thanks for taking us on the ride.
I loved the Mach 6! Congrats on a big year and thank you again for the help you gave me on my channel. I hope 2025 brings you even more success!
Great year for the hobby joggers! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks for putting in the work!

most fun shoe out there for sure, always look forward to a run in them
Working retail is a humbling but necessary experience! Keep putting in the work. Daily.
Don't change for anyone Don! Great list and great year! Im going to say it again like I did 20K subs ago, im surprised you don't have more subscribers! 2025 is going to be a banger!
thank you jason! i appreciate the support since day 1 🙏🏽
Just ticked over 100km in the MagMaxes between Xmas and New Year's. Super comfy and kept my legs 🦵 fresh
I've really enjoyed your videos this year. Still amazed that you run those kinds of distances every week.
I ran my first half marathon in 13 yrs just a couple weeks ago. I planned on wearing the Hoka Mach X2 for the race but I made a game time decision to race in the Hoka Skyward X. Great list, great year of vids. Thank you for them all!
I love the Glideride max we at 231 use it daily
Sage words about working in the service industry. Should be mandatory like military service in a lot of places. Happy New Year!
My Hoka Mach 6 are 10 grams different from each other. But the 10.5 fits true to size (earlier color way though). I wonder if it's just manufacturing problems.
The sizing discrepancy is nuts. I'm a 10.5 in everything and I have the mach 6 in blue in a 10.5 which fits perfect. Crazy how the colorways vary.
the skyflow were weird for me. all my hokas are an 11 but i had to go down to a 10.5 wide in the skyflow. It was a really long shoe. I absolutly love running in it though.

Great top 5 list . Can’t argue with it .
My man’s a TH-camr, life coach, run coach, business coach, legend
Father,Husband, Sub 3 Hour Marathon 🏅
Great list Yowana! Would love to see you review the Aspics GT 2000 13, for a moderate stability option!!!
I actually had to go down a half size but UP in width on the Mach 6. Definitely did not fit like the 5.
Man you’re really wanting me to get the Magmax
hahaha you won't be disappointed if you do
truth is i know I can get one of these recomendations from Yowana and have a 100% percent satisfaction rate. We're putting in mileage goddamn gotta stride with no regrets!!
I have these in wide. Because they are so narrow. The wide worked for me.
I'm here 24 minutes late for a 47 minute video, so all these posters before me haven't watched the whole thing yet! So many of you get watching the second it drops, eh?
Ngl I watch at 2x so only a 23min video
Usually I watch it in the morning. Good pairing with the morning coffee n toast before a run to start the day
“Princess in the PEBAX” 😂😂😂 man you crack me up so much
I feel like with the mach 6 its better to go true size but in wide even though every other shoe im a regular. Going up in lentgh in the store did nothiing for me but make it longer.
Brooks Glizzy or Puma Magmax?
Amazing Hobby Jogger year. Streets make Yowana a King
Hmmm Machx2 might be race day for us more average runners? I really like high end shoe foams but don’t need the absolute stiffness of the elite race shoes …. Like my SUperblast 2 will be a while before I try anything else .
Mach 6 size 11 rubbing big toe...same here , sent them back.

Yo, I don’t give you enough credit for the b-roll. Spot on as always, so serene.
Named my Skywardx Plutoskiwizrd x. Dude it is fun.. much more than my other shoes. Your recommendations are fire
After your prior experience with the Mach 6 I don't understand why you didn't get the "Wide" version that would perfectly fit your foot. 🤷♂
The normal size fit too snug and at least half size smaller.
Fact is, there are just so many great shoes out there! Of course there are gonna be a couple snubs
How would you compare the Hoka Mach X vs Saucony Endorphin Pro 4?
Nike has lost their minds charging $320 for an Alphafly just because it’s black. I say don’t encourage them by spending that an extra $35 for just a color change. There is no value in that.
Nice colourway, but i don't want shoes with rocker for walking (not good for the toes, toes point upwards)
I'm slowly increasing my weekly mileage and working increasing my mile pace. I have the Sacouny Guide 17, the Sacouny Tempus, and the Nike Structure 25. I am working on getting the Brooks Glycerine gts. If you know many max cushion stability shoes please let me know
Saucony hurricane 24 is designed to correct overpronation. The magmax is also very stable and supportive
@@supwell what company makes the magmax
@@garywilliams1765puma
Regular size 9.5, my Mach 5 10.. ordered Mach 6 in 10 and no way I could fit in it, sent it back sadly..
didnt know hokas could look cool
Just copped the Murdered out Alpha Fly 3s. 😈
It was easier for me to get EVO SLs than a hobby jogger running hat. I’m sad
The clarification of up* hahaha
Lol. I worked for less than $2.00 / hour at the local drugstore when I was in high school. Running shoes were a luxury.
You drop that mag max right after I passed on the size 14 at running warehouse! Now they are out of stock again! Lol How are they compared to the nimbus 26? That Mach 6 toe box was just an immediate "hell no" for me
So clean! 🖤 🐍
Yea I've been going in all black for years now...Even in the summer months lol. This year during my races I changed it up a little with color because my girlfriend said she got tired of it lol.
Review the Magnify nitro please 🙏
I’m rocking the black on black on black novablast 5’s ready for 2025

Facts on working for minimum wage, really puts things in perspective

one of these days you should filmed how you cook that chicken. and review it.
Need to try on those Pumas , don’t know why I can’t drop $200 for Puma …
Is there a max cushion stability shoe? I need one for my flat feet

11.5 is also good for water skiing😅
Damn bro

Mach 6 wide is not really wide.. Typical Hoka narrow fit even in wide 😂
Happy new year bro.
My current lineup is;
Daily - Adidas SL2
Recovery - Puma Magmax
Likely gonna sell the Rebel v4. OK shoe but I just prefer the SL2 at everything.
