When Awareness is feeled through emotions, it’s called Love. When it’s thinked, it’s called Truth. When it’s perceived through senses, it’s called Beauty.

Beautifully stated. I discovered that what I once believed was love I was feeling toward my kids was actually fear mixed in with a bit of guilt. Allowing those emotions to be there, observing them without judgement, I began to see my kids thru the eyes of Truth…pure Love, thus realizing there’s really nothing to fear at all; which only makes sense.

acim quote: the course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.

Joy and pain are the emotional experiences on either end of an the feeling paradigm in duality. They are both expressions of love. Without love we would not know pain or joy. Suffering is not required in the appearance of duality but pain is.

I’ve never ever heard anyone describe the true nature of reality in such detail and with such certainty as Rupert. There’s no way that everything he says (and he says a lot!) is born out of experiential self evident fact.

  • @TheVenkyswamy

Love is Self and Self is Love - no duality. We all love ourselves first. Our love of our loved ones is the love of ourselves. The reason for love is to be happy at all times. Happiness being our real nature. Instead of searching happiness outside, we should rather search it inside in each one of us. That is where we all err, and that is the root cause of Samsara.

To remove separative barriers between you and apparent objects is to experience beauty, or to perceive the sacred in the ordinary. To remove separative barriers between you and apparent ‘others’ is to experience love.

I can relate with this lady.. For such a long time, I see my inner pain/suffering as my identity, I so wish to get rid of it, yet at the same time, it felt like my whole existence was build on that. A fucked up identity is better than no identity. Until I see that this is exactly what the "i-thought", the ego wants...My longing for love is strong, but the resistance of the ego is trying everything to stop it. So Rupert is correct, we have to sooner or later detach ourself from the pain and truly decide that you want to choose LOVE instead of pain. It takes true courage.

    • @renesonse5794

"A fucked up identity is better than no identity." The exact opposite is true actually. No identity is Liberation and any identity is bondage.

    • @nocosa
      @nocosa 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The idea is to investigate this what we call Identity by the question: who am I?
And answer it not from conditioning and memories but from your ongoing experience. This can lead to silence the mind and silence lead to Truth.

  • @lisafink98

I don’t think love can be defined, I think the word is a generalization or a tool that allows us to express what we feel in a way that others can understand (when I say I love you, you accept a general notion of what we all call love) but in reality no two of us experience that same thing even though we all call it by the same name. Love is so pure and so personal, there isn’t one definition nor is there a need to define it. You know it when you feel it.

      @@ShaunDobbie Alright..
Rupert defines love as feeling that we and the other are essentially one. We are *one* consciousness, not multiple consciousnesses that are similar, but the very exact same. In that sense I could say that I am alone, because there is and always was only one 'I' to begin with. When we feel that it doesn't really matter whether other people are conscious or not, because there always is only one consciousness to begin with..
Now Rupert has addressed your problem a few times already, one time there was a woman who had the exact same feeling as you, however he addressed it in a kind of disrespectful way I find (you can find that video under Rupert spira solipsism).
Another time he was just directly asked how we can ever know whether other people exist/are conscious. He said while there is no direct absolute proof, love should be a strong indicator. Haven't we all felt the feeling of being one with another? Isn't that feeling a good sign that this is actually the case?
Lastly, I would like to give you some advice on your personal situation right now.
I was in a more or less similar situation for a few months 1,5 years ago. I was afraid of something that might possibly be true, but there was no clear way to disprove it. I tried my hardest to gather proof that what I was afraid of was not true and even when I found some, it only cured the fear temporarily before it came back. The only thing that liberated me out of the situation was to drop the resistance. That means accepting the fear, as well as accepting the possibility that what I am afraid of might be true. I would suggest you do the same. If you try hard now to find proof that others exist you will only join a game of ups and downs, you will find something comforting, will be satisfied for a while and then the fear will inevitably come back. So I really suggest you accept the possibility that others don't exist and don't try to avoid the strong wall of fear. If you do that, you might eventually naturally start to feel connected to other people, you will feel the love Rupert is talking about and just intuite that they really exist, but not because you forced it onto yourself by collecting as much proof as possible, but just because it is our natural state as a human being to feel that.
Wow that turned out to be a long ass essay, I hope it maybe helped a bit (assuming you read it all :D)

I'm trying to follow... now i get it, now i dont. Love and its 50 shades of it... and it's all love really
So my lady, pain that invites you to sob in the presence of breath taking beauty is a cramp in your psyche. You only have to relax and let those tears come on their own if they must. There's beauty in that. Imagine, you find yourself in a breath taking moment. Overwhealmed, you experience it. Your face lights up with that joy and tears begin to run down beautifying already perfect image. A wide smile and teary eyes. Not deformed by any pain. There is no pain there really, but when you believe it is pain, that invites the tears, you tend to wrinkle your eyes and deform your face to prove a point. And that gesture is where the pain comes from. No gesture no pain. Only tears. Absorb the beauty and let tears be part of it...
    I hope you understood
