Hernan I recently purchased in 1986 928S second owner in magnificent conditions is a five speed. It should be delivered to my residence this weekend if everything goes well with the transport. I really appreciate if you can send me the information of where to buy all the stuff that you recommend or to take the car.. thank you Let me know if you have a secure way where I can send my phone number and my information. Thank you.
Congrats man! 👊 The very best Porsche 928 parts guys are Roger and Mark. They can guide you on all the maintenance needed, or mods. Here’s their contact info: Mark at 928 International: email: Mark@928intl.com Roger at 928sRUS Website: 928srus.com
I wish you were our neighbor - “Hey Hernan have you got a minute …………….” Fabulous tips as always , currently waiting for my very first 928 to arrive from Perth(a long long way from Brisbane) - A 1986 5.0 ltr (unleaded) one owner 64,000 km ! ! - Mint condition visually inside and out - been in garaged storage since 96 ! Currently with Porsche specialist doing big once over $$$ . Cheers from Brisbane
Both very excited and nervous too, will need a very dedicated 928 mechanic so we can slowly sort through making her dependable :) , 30 years of sleep may have made Snow White (actually white gold) a little grumpy 😊 - super appreciate all your Porsche videos ❤ .
No solo subcribirme es un tanto para Hernan, si no para todos los que tenemos un 928, es una maravilla que tengamos un profesor de este nivel, por que hoy en dia, por aprender se paga, es verdadero placer ver tus videos.
Awesome! I always liked the 928. So many are neglected and it's now up to a new generation of dedicated owners to do what it takes to keep them running or restore them back to driving condition. It all starts here.
Very informative video Hernan. Wondering how many other cars have adjustable clutch pedals. The assembly drawing you showed of the pedal was very cool (picture is worth a thousand words).
And here i was going to say get the club sport alternator 😜 But short shifter for second round upgrade video for sure... ALSO cutting the unnecessary air pump belt
Very interesting view on the solid transmission mounts. I think 928motorsports stated that they only should be used together with a full roll cage. Also, the picture you are showing is of the solid engine mounts.
Correct, Carl from 928 Motorsports says that it’s better with a roll cage….especially for the track. My car didn’t have a roll cage, it was a daily driver…no issues 👍 Now… if you’re planning on tracking, a roll cage is a bare minimum for sure. Thanks for watching and Happy New Years!
@Hernan you mentioned placing carpets in the washing machine. Any worries about the backing of the carpet being affected? The front passenger footwell carpet is two pieces sewn together with a fiber board backing that extends to the kick plate. Was concerned about this part. Love to hear your thoughts…and thank you!
No, thats part of the floor mats. Those you can just take out and wash them carefully, then hit them with a hose…let air dry. This tip is for the main carpet that’s glued on. Depending on how bad it is, you might need to run it through the washing machine twice! It makes a massive difference!
My favorite Porsche! Now, the ultimate fix is a Renegade Hybrids swap, only because it makes it virtually maintenance free, and running that certain engine through the factory style exhaust, nobody will ever know.
The ones on my GT were from 928 Motorsports. I’ve had great experiences with them on manuals, I haven’t tested them on automatics. They go great with RMB! 👊👊
Hi. Enjoyed your video. I am considering purchasing one and was thinking of a resto mod by putting a new Panamera engine and transmission. Is it possible?
That would be cool!! Anything can be done with enough cash! The swaps that I’ve seen focus on simplicity, so most end up with LS V8 motors. Thanks for watching brother! 👊👊
A lot of 928 guys p*ss on the auto box, but the earlier cars with less low down torque are perfectly suited to a torque converter for take off. It's a shame the Mercedes valve body can't be upgraded to allow the later electronic control that was never carried over to 928s.

Fantastic. I bought an 89 GTS that had one owner and 16 thousand miles. I still had to spend $20 thousand on various things. Make sure you do that.

Feliz Año Nuevo! 🍾🍾
Another great video as usual.
Thanks for sharing with us👍👍
Thanks for watching brother! 👊👊
Great stuff.
For auto boxes, you really need to fit a Ritch clamp. Stops the dreaded TBF and takes 30 minutes to fit.
GREAT TIP!! 💯💯 Thanks watching brother! 👊👊
Awesome tips! Thank you Hernan.
Thanks for watching brother! 👊👊
Thanks for the tips, the cables from the throttle on my 928 are stretched,as much as they can🙈
Happy new year.
Been there! Careful with those cables! Thanks for watching brother! 👊👊
Happy New Year!
And here i was going to say get the club sport alternator 😜
But short shifter for second round upgrade video for sure... ALSO cutting the unnecessary air pump belt
Ahhh, those noisy air pumps all have to go! 🙌🙌
Thanks!
Thanks for watching brother! 🙌🙌 Happy New Years! 🍾🍾
Great content 👌 keep up the excellent videos 📹
Thank you! Will do! 🙌
Me lanzo a por ese alternador!! Muchas gracias Hernan.
Es buenísimo!
@@HernanSpeed Muchas gracias Hernan,
another great video.. love your 928 videos man. Also do you know if new 928 will be out anytime soon? there are rumors about it but not sure?
Porsche recently canceled most of their electric car plans, so anything is possible! 🙌🙌
Happy New Years! 🍾🍾
@@HernanSpeed wow good to know all that electric trend is bs anyways.
You rock!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching! 👊👊
What a great video... 👌

My brother is LSX swapping his, he’s even going with a six speed transmission! Crazyy POWAAA can be made! 💯👊👊
Yo a mi S4 Manual, le he puesto la palanca del GT, es mas corta, pero no se si se podria mejorar mas......
👊👊
Where do you get the solid transmission mounts?

Hi Hernan! Love your videos! Lots of helpful information! I have an '84 928s. Is there an alternator upgrade that you recommend using?
Hi! Check out 928Motorsports, they have several options…all better than the original units. Thanks for watching brother! 👊👊
Hi. Enjoyed your video. I am considering purchasing one and was thinking of a resto mod by putting a new Panamera engine and transmission. Is it possible?

Thank you
Honestly? I know this is sacrilege ... but on my 79 Manual ... I would LOOOOOOOVE to have a gated shifter 😟
Definitely would give a more mechanical feel! Thanks for watching! 👊👊

The Mercedes unit is also very reliable! The seals tend to leak from old age only, it’s a solid transmission ! 💯💯
Thanks for watching! 👊👊
Hans shifter or nothing for me
Yess! I’ve tried it on an early 928, made a massive difference. Thanks for watching! 👊👊
