- Candace Cameron Bure gets emotional talking about Bob Saget. The 45-year-actress appeared on the 'Today' show Thursday morning, where she revealed her final text messages with her 'Full House' on-screen dad. Bure, who played Saget's eldest TV daughter, D.J. Tanner, shares she had a little 'tiff' two weeks before his death and explains how they resolved it. The 'Fuller House' star also opens about the loss she feels without the late comedian in her life.

I mean he was a part of her life for 35 years so to her the grief that she is experiencing is real and it's a very tough thing to navigate. But I imagine she is forever grateful for being able to work on two long running shows with him and has those memories for a lifetime
When I first learned about Bob Saget’s death, it was a real shock. It is hard to believe that he’s gone. The cast of Full house have my condolences.

I understand her treasuring their text messages. Before she died, my nana left me a birthday message of her singing the birthday song in my phone’s voicemail box. She died a few weeks after my birthday. I will always treasure that message because it’s her voice. It’s something tangible I can hear. When I feel down, I listen to the message to feel better.

I'm sorry for your loss. my mum died on eastern sunday 2020 because of a malefunction of her new peacemakerat age 66 after almost 4 weeks in a coma. the week before she was put in the coma, she wrote me a text, about how much she miss me and she asked me how I was doing....but it was her who was in hospital because of an infection. I was scared to lose this text and I got a new phone number a few month after her passing...so I saved it all on my computer!
I was deeply saddened when I heard the news. The cast LOVED him, especially considering the fact that they all - including the Olsen Twins - went to his memorial. They truly were a family; such a bond will not and should not be broken, not in a million years...RIP, Bob. You will sincerely be missed.
I understand the fear of deleting his text. I used to constantly delete my voicemails and texts. When my dad passed i was so mad i deleted his funny voicemails he’d leave me and dry texts he’d send. I wish i could have those back.
My dad passed almost a year ago. He hated phones/texts but he would still make efforts to text every now and then. I hope to never lose the last messages he sent me.
I feel very sorry for the cast of Full House for their loss of Bob Saget!
And what about his actual family his blood family don't exists?

Watching Candace speak really about him made me well up. I don't idolize celebrities as I realize they get older and will eventually leave this earth as the rest of us. Money nor fame can prevent that. However, to watch her grief as she speaks about their bond is really touching because she's known him since she was a child. She, Jodie, and the Olsen twins must feel a similar hurt as his real life daughters. Candace should probably screen shot those text messages and email them to herself to have as a copy just in case something happens to her phone.
Her 2nd father died it has to be rough.
I am sure a lot of fans grieved badly for Robert Reed aka Mr. Brady too. Both men were treasured by fans and losing both was quite hard! Everyone did know Robert Reed was ill but with Bob Saget, the news came as a horrible surprise!

i had my texts with my older brother, i didn’t know that i was running out of iCloud storage and i thought i saved all of our conversations with him. my phone was desactivated, i couldn’t remember my password then they wiped all of my texts, pictures and everything. i can’t remember the last time we spoke and it was all my fault 😕
Note how candacs said " Bob is so tall" instead of " was" she's having a hard time processing this death ,and I can't say I blame her😢.

i don’t blame her, reading old messages from past loved ones are like important core memories. when my friend who had OD, i make sure all of our chats don’t get deleted because we shared so many moments through ups and downs

Not only is full house one of my favorite shows but, I am so happy they stayed in touch after all these years. They are pretty much each other s family ❤💙💜.

Yes we will truly miss Robert Saget I'm the same age as her DJ Tanner 45. Kinda tear up on about the bond the both had on the original full house set in the 87-96s tv show. That he would cry with you now that's a true saying, and feel.😔💐 Rest in peace Bob.

I loved watching fullhouse as a child in Pakistan. Yes, it used to air on the main public TV channel in English, Pakistan’s official language. Bob was a great actor and played the role so well. And now at his passing people are saying such great things about him, I have never seen this for any other person, universal love for him. 🇵🇰🙏😊

I feel that Bob became a second father to her. It’s not hard to come to that conclusion because he played her dad on Full House. When I watch the reruns of the show, you can see a natural bond between young Candace and Bob. It sucks that he died so soon. He still had years ahead of him. 😔

Big respect for Candace, honestly. Knowing Bob Saget's real life personality all too well & how that would clash pretty epicly with a fundamentalist Christian such as Candace.. I didn't expect this. I'm unsure if what I said is relevant to this mentioned dispute, but either way its clear how much she respects him as opposed to judges him. She loves him all the same and that's wonderful ! Well, bittersweet. Very sad circumstance.

It was crazy to discover that one of the most wholesome dads in TV history was played by such a vulgar comedian, and then even crazier to discover that such a vulgar comedian was played by one of the most wholesome dads in real life. We didn't deserve Bob.
It just goes to show that the family thing going on in Full House was real both on camera and off camera. The fact that Bob and Candace had a bit of a tiff and then immediately patched it up shows that they had that father/daughter relationship. Even the interviewer was tearing up.
I think we should all be grateful that we got to see and enjoy a Full House comeback however it ended up manifesting as in the form of Fuller House and they did it while Bob was still around. America cried hard when Full House ended. If not, I think we would have been left starving indefinitely regretful.
