Hi Rachel, loving all the tags! They all came out beautifully! I used to organize the family video calls for my siblings, my son and i and my Mom for the different Holidays before she passed last year. We all enjoyed being able to see and hear each other during these video calls and would usually go on way longer than we had intended. I think your idea of a family video call is a great idea! TFS 😊
Love these lady tags and the pieces of fabric you incorporate. I understand your feelings about your daughter going off to college. You will ultimately adjust and so will she.😍
Wow! What beautiful tags! I love them! They will be perfect in your journals! It’s nice to hear LuLu is maybe starting to adjust to her new adventure in life and that you are too. Not an easy thing to do. You are blessed your mum is still with you, mine passed away when I was 39. I think it’s so wonderful you talk with her so often. I talk with my daughter a lot, some days she is here everyday, kind of goes in cycles. 😊💕😊
I am a bit behind in my video watching... but, just love these random makes when you have no preconceived ideas of what you are doing... it always ends up a great craft session... off to watch your latest stitchery video... Cheers for sharing Lovely... 💜
Love hearing about Lulu. I first started watching you during Covid and she was in your videos a lot. It’s been very nice hearing and seeing about her growing up and yes, it does get easier as a mom.
Such a good idea with a family call and if Lulu joins you on your coming trip🤗. As long as she is mostly happy, it will be easier, and speaking as a mother of 3 daughters (who have moved out one by one, and have their own children now) it will get better. Lovely creations once again🌻🌺💗🫶🏻🥰
Wow, you did get a lot done today. Fun to hear a Lulu update. If you have time in an upcoming video, I'm curious about how your Universities handle housing? Here in the states often the students live in a residence hall, at least for their first year. They have a dining room for meals. (of course, the food normally isn't very good.) Yes, thinking back to my first time living away from home ... no computers, no cell phones ... calls home were so expensive. As a child we even had a phone with a party line!! ha ha!! Thank you for sharing!
Hello Rachel, happy that Lulu is settling in, before you know it, she will be home for Christmas. love all the stories thanks for sharing, big hugs Rachel.
The tags are so lovely!!! Love that bit of fabric. I am glad to hear that Lulu seems to be doing fine. Such a great idea to call everyone at the same time. My two brothers, my sister and I set up texting all together. Works out very well💜💜💜💜💜
Glad to hear that Lulu is getting setting in. I to cried all the way home when my son first went to university, Its so hard. Now he is married with 4 children and his son is in university. Love your tags Rachael. Have a good sleep.
It’s a good thing today that there cell phones and video calls as it will reduce Lulu’s homesickness. The tags are terrific and will be great in the journals.m❤❤❤
In 1984 l was living in London phoned my parents 1st Sunday of the month. Put 10 pound in the slot. And when gone it was gone. Letters and aero mail postcards sent every week. Same again in 1987 when I lived just out of London when a newly wed. Now so instant FaceTime messaging email what’s app etc. love hearing about Lulus adventures.
Hi Rach, I did a ton of travelling late 80s and early 90s, like you lost touch with a lot of special people. We use to give everyone our parents addresses as they tended not to move around as much as we all did. I recently found someone I travelled with (from NSW)she is now a new grandmother (time flies too right!). Found memories!🇨🇦
Always wanted to speak Italian but never learned it... despite me speaking 5 languages. So I started on Duolingo. At first ok it was easy but aghghgh getting hard. Love it. Io parli Italiano con mia amica (that whole thing with la mia and tu mia I don't get). Hugs. Have fun.
I love those pages with the fabric strips. Can’t wait to see what they were meant to be …..or what they get made into. I would need to make a sticky note to remember😂😊
We, who have had children, go off to university, understand your sadness/stress of your child leaving home. Do what you are able to do and we will be here when you are here. All the best. Take care of yourself.
What a lovely surprise to see your video. Inspiring as always. Why not make a regular time for video calls? For example: Friends of ours make their group call once a week on Sunday night. 🤗
When my babies left home the first time, I cried for a week or more. It feels like someone has carved out your heart, chopped it in half and then stuck half back in your chest. I have four kids so had to go through it over and over. They are now aged 45, 41, 39 and 36, but they are still my babies, as are my grandchildren and great grandchildren. Don’t ever feel there is anything wrong with missing Lucy or with her wanting to keep in touch every day. ❤
I’m catching up on my videos so I know it’s old news that Lulu went off to school but I’m so happy for her. I know it’s a little bittersweet for you & Steffi
I can relate. I called my mom often and then after my dad passed I called her twice sometimes three or four times a day! Now she’s gone too and I miss her and our chats so much that it brings tears to my eyes😢
Thanks for keeping us updated on Lulu. I remember buying her kit to raise money for something. We've "watched" her grow up.
Thanks so much 🥰

There is some campus accommodation for lower income earners. Most students rent apartments off campus
