That’s the only problem with the X. You have to make sure it’s fits your car before you order it. And hopefully it’s fits lol. But thanks for watching bro 💯💯
Solid vid, X is kinda a pain but it's really not terrible to find parts. Coils and springs you need them for the weight of the awd and really Swifts are the only ones I would run for a spring. Any sedan exhaust will fit except the Y pipe which multiple vendors sell an AWD Y pipe. Sway bars on an X is kinda funny, the only difference for the awd vs the rwd is the front bar. The front bar on the X is already beefy to hold the extra weight, we are talking 3-4mm from aftermarket and 5mm thicker than the rwd bar. The rear bar is the issue which is pathetic on the x but the good news is that rear bar is universal from coupe to sedan rwd to awd. This also means that 370z rear bars work for the sedans which is the best bang for buck swaybar option for the X. 370z bar is great addition, 370z nismo bar is a couple mm from aftermarket size.
Few small things to add, wheels need to be a square setup, can't get away with too much stagger or you can damage your diffs or transfer case. The S has a more aggressive steering rack and shocks. Brake pads can be weird from trim to trim. The x/journey, the xS, and the S use different pads. While the x/journey and xS look like the same brakes, the front xS calipers are 2 piston sliders vs the 1 piston on the x, while the S has the Akebono 4 piston BBK. Some people order x pads for their xS or xS pads for their x and they dont fit. You can swap a VLSD into the rear from an S, but need to match the new gear ratio in the front using a g35x front diff. A few people have done this successfully, but its a pain. Exhaust fitment issue is mainly just the y-pipe to clear the transfer case. You can, for the most part, disable the AWD by adding a switch the the blue wire behind your glove box that cuts communication to the transfer case, but its not 100% off. There is another wire for the yaw sensor under the arm rest that would allow 100% off for traction control, but with AWD you shouldn't touch it because the car uses that yaw sensor for torque vectoring. Paddle shifters from the S and xS are pre wired, so you can add those very easily. Springs, Swift will give you the most even drop and best ride quality compared to others. Eibach makes the rear droop and TEIN is too soft for sporty driving. Keep in mind because of the way the front is set up for AWD, the front spring take several hours per side to swap. If paying for labour, it may cost as much as the springs to install them. You will also need front upper control arms, toe bolts, and rear camber arms in order to align the camber and toe to spec after lowering. AWD has a worse turning radius than the S. If lowering, be ready to swap cv axels every few years since the new geometry will chew your cv boots. M37x axels are a tiny bit longer and stronger and fix this issue (or so I'm told, haven't tried myself yet). Sway bars, well I kicked myself for not making it my first mod after finally adding Hotchkiss sway bars. The rear bar in the x is laughable. Bonus: For tesla screens, dont get the Chinese Android screens if you even plan on one. Look up Workshop12. Canadian company and their kits are amazing with no glitches and has proper support and documentation. MotorvateDIY created a way to add tire pressure display to the OEM menu and is working on activating the hidden GTR gauges from the R35 to the OEM menu. Yes, Nissan hid them from us.
How do you get the steering column to auto lift on exit? mine quit going all the way up... I let someone sit in the car without it running and he started adjusting the power driver seat and now my shit don't work. The column motor is working but when you shut the car off and open the door the column won't lift to the top like it did every time before! thanks
You can fit an ISR or Tomei all you need is extensions for both sides and a Y pipe for the sedan only downside about that is that if you try to go lower you’ll definitely scratch it due to its minimal ground clearance.
