Just because something is prerecorded doesnt mean theyre a bad vocalist. I mean you can clearly hear Iroha’s shakiness in her given taken performance so you know that one was live at some point. Then I remembered that their name is very close to the word illicit (meaning something that is illegal) and they have a child with a baby face as their focal point. The cute first crush theme of their first song is made weird because they are addressing the lyrics to the listener/audience. And they make the baby faced child say the lines *_baby don’t say no_* _Baby, I'm just trying to play it cool_ _But I just can't hide that _*_I want you_* . It’s like they’re being marketed to people who creep on minors.

Yunah reminds me of Somin from KARD when she was in the girl group April that was super cutesy. She looked a lot more comfy and fit the more mature concept of KARD better when they debuted too.
Moka definitely suits more of that darker concept than cute and soft. When she sings in Magnetic, her voice forces to sound very high-pitched and squeaky. But in her cover of Tomboy, her voice suits perfectly in, with a deeper and stronger tone showing. Her voice suits more powerful vibes

Wonhee has this cold elegant vibe, not everyone in a song have to give off the same vibe... but I think she could pull off baddie concept with her cold elegant vibe working in her favor... Tbh this outcome should've been expected. Minju is already a good singer so I don't feel the need to talk about her. You can clearly hear Iroha's instability even through the heavily edited auto tune+backtrack. Wonhee already stated that she struggled singing live, and she always had a heavy backtrack helping her sound better live. And Moka never leaves that cutesy tone, if you take the time to listen you can hear how she never really leaves that tone so it makes sense that she messed up her lines in Magnetic because those lines are a different tone(Not defending her for it of course that's something she definitely needs to work on). To be honest the most confusing part about their vocal issues to me is Yunah, for the most part she sounds fine but she seems to sound shaky in both Magnetic and LGS sometimes. Lucky Girl Syndrome has a high range so I guess you can excuse possible shakiness considering Yunah's naturally lower range, but in Magnetic the lines are definitely in her range, so I'm wondering why she sometimes struggles with them? I'm honestly wondering how much R U Next hid those girls actual voices?

Im actually thankful that youngseo didnt debut in this group hopefully she debuts in a company that isnt only for the visuals and can train there idols better
same, as much as I was sad she left(she was my bias) she needed to leave, it was best for her. I think she could’ve ate magnetic up but if she were to go in a concept she was strong at no one would be able to compete with her. I hope that someday she returns and shows us her charm again and I hope she reaches her goals and become successful, whether it’s as an idol or not.

Minju and Yunah's bad girl good girl performance was iconic. They really suit that concept. I still remember being obsessed with Yunah's intro visual, aura and make up hair styling. Plus they both seemed so confident. Iroha also shines in stronger concepts, her given taken and pink venom performances were amazing. Moka is very versatile. I liked her a lot in tomboy but she also shines in very feminine fairy like concepts like 5th season. As for wonhee, she has the shortest training period so I think she will improve gradually. I like her vocals it has lots of potential.

Maybe for you it is… it depends on the singers vocal ability… some singers are good with lower notes like in the magnetic verses which u say is easy which may mean for you that lower notes are easier for you to sing then higher notes.. but if you look at Moka’s performance in tomboy, minju & yunah’s performance in good girl bad girl and wonhee’s performance in dream of you (I think?)) and iroha’s performance in given taken they all sing the higher notes better then lower notes… and if you see the given taken performance irohas voice is till very shaky so idk what editing you’re yapping about because that wasn’t something that’s edited or pre recorded or smt…

There are other options than studio recording or live singing that survival shows have gone with. Live AR, post production editing (gp999 had lots of it as some groups were completely live where others were vocally edited in the demo stages), and probably a bunch more that I can’t think of rn. But this was most likely ppe or studio

You can generally tell if you put their vocals into a auto tune app. Their cents can be unnaturally accurate, a common sign of auto tune/pitch correction. Second, the members. Minju’s low-mid range techniques are also fine as they meet basic standards. She sings in a cursive manor which shows her unique stylistic preference. She is pretty limited to this style. This acts as a barrier for her to achieve more vocally demanding pieces. Wonhee has a bright vocal tone that helps with the group. Yunah has a good tone that compliments Wonhee’s. However Moka and Iroha require further vocal assistance. Their basic foundations are noticeably week. It’s evident in their pitch instability and lack of control. In order for them to improve they need to work on their basic vocal technique. Pitch accuracy and breathing exercises should help. Thought they aren’t a vocal group, they should at least have basic vocals. If they improve in their vocals, they will be able to achieve more polished and professional stages/performances. Also the gap between Minju and say Moka is quite the issue as it allows Minju to shine brightly while Moka gets shadowed. It’s the same issue that Kiss of Life faces.
Idc what anyone says but moka sounded really and i mean REALLY good singing tomboy. So does the others with the songs they performed. I’ve said this in other videos too and I’ll say it again. THE COMPANY SHOULD ALLOW THEM TO SING IN THEIR RANGE NOT THE ONE THE COMPANY WANTS. I would have to disagree. I don’t think the company messed up. The concept they built around illit is different than other groups who have debuted. Not the same processed “bad-ass” song/concept. They are covering great songs, it’s just unknown if they would have made a “bad-ass” song with girl crush concept stand out. Now further down the line I could foresee a subgroup doing a more fierce song, or even doing B-sides if not the main song. But as of now I like what they have going for them as a group. They are giving that dreamy, video game sounding songs which last group who hit that for me was LOONA.

Lucky Girl Syndrome has a high range so I guess you can excuse possible shakiness considering Yunah's naturally lower range, but in Magnetic the lines are definitely in her range, so I'm wondering why she sometimes struggles with them? @@confusedgrapes349Yunah’s never really struggled on magnetic. If she is out of breath at points, it’s likely just choreo tbh. She sounds great on encores for that song and even for LGS, usually her MR removed videos are pretty solid, if a little shaky because it’s kinda high for her.

The reason why they sing better id NOT the concept or songs, it's that these performances are pre recorded! They don't sing live! And if u saw some trainees fail, then they were those trainees that they didn't want to debut so they didn't give them pre recorded vocals too make them seem worse than their fav trainees!
And also the song she’s singing has better vocal range for her (ILLIT songs are too deep for her)

same, as much as I was sad she left(she was my bias) she needed to leave, it was best for her. I think she could’ve ate magnetic up but if she were to go in a concept she was strong at no one would be able to compete with her. I hope that someday she returns and shows us her charm again and I hope she reaches her goals and become successful, whether it’s as an idol or not.

Minju and Yunah's bad girl good girl performance was iconic. They really suit that concept. I still remember being obsessed with Yunah's intro visual, aura and make up hair styling. Plus they both seemed so confident.
Iroha also shines in stronger concepts, her given taken and pink venom performances were amazing.
Moka is very versatile. I liked her a lot in tomboy but she also shines in very feminine fairy like concepts like 5th season.
As for wonhee, she has the shortest training period so I think she will improve gradually. I like her vocals it has lots of potential.

It's not even pure live. It has post production edits plus a bit of auto tune in their mics.

Maybe for you it is… it depends on the singers vocal ability… some singers are good with lower notes like in the magnetic verses which u say is easy which may mean for you that lower notes are easier for you to sing then higher notes.. but if you look at Moka’s performance in tomboy, minju & yunah’s performance in good girl bad girl and wonhee’s performance in dream of you (I think?)) and iroha’s performance in given taken they all sing the higher notes better then lower notes… and if you see the given taken performance irohas voice is till very shaky so idk what editing you’re yapping about because that wasn’t something that’s edited or pre recorded or smt…

There are other options than studio recording or live singing that survival shows have gone with. Live AR, post production editing (gp999 had lots of it as some groups were completely live where others were vocally edited in the demo stages), and probably a bunch more that I can’t think of rn. But this was most likely ppe or studio

You can generally tell if you put their vocals into a auto tune app. Their cents can be unnaturally accurate, a common sign of auto tune/pitch correction. Second, the members. Minju’s low-mid range techniques are also fine as they meet basic standards. She sings in a cursive manor which shows her unique stylistic preference. She is pretty limited to this style. This acts as a barrier for her to achieve more vocally demanding pieces. Wonhee has a bright vocal tone that helps with the group. Yunah has a good tone that compliments Wonhee’s. However Moka and Iroha require further vocal assistance. Their basic foundations are noticeably week. It’s evident in their pitch instability and lack of control. In order for them to improve they need to work on their basic vocal technique. Pitch accuracy and breathing exercises should help. Thought they aren’t a vocal group, they should at least have basic vocals. If they improve in their vocals, they will be able to achieve more polished and professional stages/performances. Also the gap between Minju and say Moka is quite the issue as it allows Minju to shine brightly while Moka gets shadowed. It’s the same issue that Kiss of Life faces.
Maybe they’ll be like TXT where they start off with more innocent concept then evolve

I would have to disagree. I don’t think the company messed up. The concept they built around illit is different than other groups who have debuted. Not the same processed “bad-ass” song/concept. They are covering great songs, it’s just unknown if they would have made a “bad-ass” song with girl crush concept stand out. Now further down the line I could foresee a subgroup doing a more fierce song, or even doing B-sides if not the main song. But as of now I like what they have going for them as a group. They are giving that dreamy, video game sounding songs which last group who hit that for me was LOONA.
