  • This is not a performance review. This is my personal experience. The guys at Trail-Tough are super awesome and helpful. I went way off the reservation and that hit a few limits of the kit. Had I used the 2.0 with the stock transmission and Tcase I'd be giving the kit a 9.5.
I will try to answer questions.

Going to be a cool rig, looking forward to seeing it wheel. The kit has changed a bit from v1 to v2 cool to see the older version. I found it to be a pretty decent install but it was not without some issues for me. Most people who build these tie in some sort of roll bar to the rear frame which adds some support. It did'nt hurt to plate it thats for sure.

So the kit roll cage bolts to floor and I think its welded to the rear of frame. I'm not there yet. I can tell you that if you do the 2.0 conversion you need at minimum a 1-inch body lift to close the hood. This is another thing not discussed by TT. I had to go 2 inches because I didn't move the cat low enough. Thats my bad. In short, my kit roll cage is not going to fit, oh well, I'll figure it out.
V2 I'm sure is way cooler keeping the bed.

@@JuicedMoose I tubbed my cab myself as I did not want any of the sammi bed, shooting more for buggy look plus out here in Ohio the bodys are fairly shitty anyway. I stayed with stock 1.3, for most of what we do I get what I need from the gearing. I built my roll cage right down between the rear shock mounts, definitely did'nt hurt it to beef it up right there. you got pretty good fab skills, you'll work something out i'm sure.

@@Tonnsfabrication I've spent 4 years in OH for work. I was told you guys had mud. I never saw much mountain. I used to be 10 on 4 off schedule so I never had a chance to see much other than the snow and rain. Here I commy calily, we have a lot of good trails. Soon I'll be in Az. Do you have rocks?
I'll work the roll cage out and post it when I get that far. I'm only home 8 days a month so it's going slow.

@@JuicedMoose South Eastern Ohio is the foothills of the Appalachians, we have pretty awesome wheelin over here. Not far from the mountains in WV and Ky. Lots of rocky crag type stuff in the eastern woodlands, it's a good mix. I live in the heart of it and wheel mostly right from the house.

@@Tonnsfabrication I just realized you're the one who gave me the idea for putting my body on the ground sideways to fix my rocker panel. LOL I was on your page before. Yeah, I spend most my time in Heath, Euclid, Lorain and little in Trenton Ohio. I never explored it much without a rig.

Your control arms have threaded ends you can adjust the pinion angle by that if your worried about the springs bowing you can get wedge shaped coil spring bushings to correct it that’s what I did to my Jeep with a metal cloak lift

I like the wedge idea. I'll look into this.
