Def.earned a new sub for sure! Haha, you definitely seem like a fun guy to hang around. Your joking mixed with a healthy dose of positivity etc is def. infectious. Keep on keeping on man!! Collecting and its community has many great people and video games are a true blessing for a lot of us if for nothing else than the nostalgia and good times we experienced as kids, etc.
Thank you VERY much! It's just me being me, a big kid and his video games lol. I was so glad to see lots of fun games for just $5. I'm guessing everyone's $5 NES list would vary greatly. I really liked the games that are $20 and under. I'm not trying to pump my channel but I liked those games by far the best and was surprised at their affordability. Check out that vid from about a month ago. After making this I kept thinking a lot about waiting in line for your turn to play an arcade cabinet and watching other people play. I haven't watched anyone else play a video game in a really long time.
I recently got Bayou Billy and man that game is freaking hard. Luckily I got an AVS that has built in game genie and with infinite lives it makes the game doable but still a challenge. Like the music too. Good choice for this list
I def didn't see it being a $5 title but it appears to be true. I guess it was super common and people are exactly fighting each other to get frustrated now a days lol. I always liked that it had alligators.
I recently picked up Tiger Heli, and played some of it recently. Fun game! Loved Kings of the Beach. Good ol Calvin and Wilfred. Also diggin the Motley Crue shirt!!
Remember Tiger Heli loops so you may have beat it without realizing. That happened to me lol. I love my Crue shirt. It's old and faded but I still rock it.
some pretty good picks in the mix...I may just have to steal this idea and do a video of my own. Man your right about the line in the arcade for operation wolf, I remember a few of us taking turns with our quarters and continueing from where the guy before left off to see how far we could get...sadly we did not beat it with our low allowences
Arcade machines back in the day is something that a lot of people will just never know about. You should def do a video of your own. The $5 section of games is large and picks will def be based on nostalgia. I want to see it.
Another banger video from the back in the day gamer. I love your channel. Your passion for a bygone era of gaming is awesome. You're kind of like the angry video game nerd if he wasn't so angry. This is a great idea for a video too. Often when I go to retro game stores the games I already know are good are expensive and the $5 section is usually just overwhelming with options. This is a great way to find the diamonds in the rough.
Thanks a LOT! I'm def having fun doing this and I'm really glad people are enjoying it. I didn't think I was going to find 5 $5 that were good but these def are. 3 of the 5 I see every time I go hunting. I finally beat Operation Wolf last night and I'd say make sure you get that one. Kings of the Beach is what I'm playing tonight. I've liked it a lot so far. Not trying to pump my videos but my $20 NES video was my fav and way surprising. All 5 are awesome games!
I actually paid $5 for a brand new copy of Kings of the Beach at Shopko when the 16-Bit era was peaking and a few games were on clearance. We played the crap out of that game. Really fun with 2 players.
I agree with you on Kings of the Beach, we did fatality codes for MK II in school. What kind of DOTS you got there? My favorite girl got captured NES is Double Dragon & Rolling Thunder.
When I received my NES as a Christmas present back in 1988, Tiger-Heli was the other game I got. I have always liked it. I also had Silent Service, and I played that one quite a bit.
I threw up in my mouth a bit at that six pack of Old Milwaukee.... many memories of that swill, most of them ending in vomit and tears. Glad I found this channel, subscribed and am curious to see what else you'll have for us.
Thanks a lot! I've got some good ideas in the works. Hopefully everyone else thinks so lol. Tonight is Milwaukee's Best & Kings of the Beach night. CHEERS!
Never heard of any of these games, but I grew up in a small farming and industrial town. So arcades were mostly the popular cabinets Galaga, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat, pinball machines couple of riding cabinets, but don't recall there ever being a shooter cabinet. Sadly, also being in a small town, means you get random games, got Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but never TMNT2, got Thunder and Lightning (the breakout like game). Now I live in a college town which really has no thrift stores so you can't even buy old systems or games. I'm stuck to roms and emulators or blowing a small fortune on ebay and other sites.
You're not really missing out bc thrift stores have nothing anymore bc everyone just ebays everything. But seriously these 5 games you can find often and for cheap. Gotcha would be the hardest one but unless you have a crt you can't play it anyways. Odds are you can find Operation Wolf & Kings of the Beach anywhere that sells NES games. If not ebay will have them cheap. There is a store called Video Game Cavern in either NC or SC that I buy off their website all the time bc they are cheap. Check that out. Good luck!
Oh man. Me and some buddies did the century club with Old Milwaukee beer in college. You think with all the beer that comes out of Milwaukee they could make a good one. Well a cold PBR is pretty good. Disaportment definitely need to trademark that shit. I will have to try king of the beach.
How do you coin a phrase? lol Old Mil is pretty good actually. I'm drinking one right now because I'm going to the movies to see the remastered and 1 day only release of RAD. YES! I just gotta win Helltrack.
Operation Wolf is pretty sweet at the 5 dollar range. Damm, could never get into Kings of the Beach was more of a Super Spike Vball guy lol. I'm with you, if they tweaked the difficulty Bayou Billy would be at least 30 to 40 bucks. Great list!
@@backinthedaygamer haha hell yeah! I actually had an Operation Wolf arcade, I got for free. It was really rough condition but all there. As far as I got it working was a really bad crt picture. I tried transformer replacement and some other things couldnt get it right. So I got rid of it. Geez that thing was heavy. Lol
Ha ha--"disa-port-ment." I like that. I bet Tony's King of the Beach. When I was young, Tiger-Heli would drive me nuts. BUT, I've often thought of revisiting it and seeing how I feel about it now. Drawing maps; as a grown-ass adult, working at the hospital, a co-worker asked me how to get through 8-4 of SMB and...I drew him maps. lol Did you know there are Bayou Billy comics? I only tell you this because I know you hate buying other stuff besides video games so now this lives in your head to taunt you.
Tiger Heli isn't too difficult. You can def take it down. You beat that this weekend and I'll beat Operation Wolf. I'll Polo you. Screw you w your Bayou Billy comic lol
Six cheap beers was the story of my life as a broke 20 something Back in the Day. 😂 Operation Wolf to me was a terrible dissaportment…Bayou Billy was genuinely one of those games that I played the heck out of as a kid. I though the change up between beat em up, zapper and driving was awesome. It was one of those games that when I started picking games up again as an adult for the NES it was one of the first games I picked up. Then when I played it I was like “I don’t remember this game being this frickin’ hard?” 😂
I never liked the disaportment of Operation Wolf until I made this video. I beat it last weekend. I really wish Bayou Billy was a better game. But I also played the hell out of it back in the day.
Good 👍. Not bad for classic.i pretty sure retro games pushed 8 dollars for those.i see they have finally fantasy first game 22 dollars.i remember u say 10 dollars
Yeah OP wolf is more about the experience than the actual game, thats what the arcades were so good at. Interesting list though would fo thought bayou billy would have been more expensive but there you go.
I showed you something you didn't know!? lol If people did response videos to this they would be very diff I'm sure. These cheaper games would be all about nostalgia not Mario 3. Operation Wolf is my gaming goal for the weekend. Cheers mate!
A dollar menu item is like 3 bucks right now.... 😅 They should really just sell beer by the gallon. Now sure why no one has ever thought of this. Buy milk, water like a 12 pack of gallons. So simple it's stupid. Operation wolf is good, I like how you can take out a boat or APC! Dissaportment is a great term. You'll hit a milestone when it hits the dictionary. I'll be waiting for that day. Man I wish I was buying games a decade ago. I just watched someone's video and they mentioned they purchased Kid Clown for 1.99.
While capturing footage I had a lot of fun w Operation Wolf and realized I can beat it with a little more practice. This weekend I'm doing it. Kid clown probably isn't worth 1.99 lol. I sure wish I bought it for that though. One day I'm going to have to fork over the cash for it and I'd be lucky to get it for 199.00
The Japanese version of Bayou Billy is much more reasonable. I really liked the game but the difficulty was just brutal. Same with the final part of Ninja Gaiden. And I beat a good number of the most difficult NES games.
I want back in the day gamer to be my personal trainer, jk I’ve been exercising everyday, hardest part is forcing yourself to do it, but I’ve been doing it every day, trying to get Ripped😅
Thanks a lot but the camera is very flattering lol. Soon you will want to do it. You'll feel better and it'll be easier to do everything. Then you'll feel bad if you don't exercise. Eating better (it doesn't have to be all good, but better) is just as important. You don't have to exercise everyday either. Rest is important too. So if you exercise some and eat "better" you'll be doing more than 99% of people.
