Moving to SA in 6 mos. So many ppl have been telling me it's a bad idea bla bla bla.... but I love how theres so much to do and sightsee....so I'm moving anyways. Wish me luck
I'm moving to San Antonio soon & honestly, I can't wait. It's just more beautiful than I had ever imagined. Definitely gotta visit downtown cuz I'm already in love! :)
Wow this is why i want to visit texas so bad. Theres just something about the proud people of that state that makes me want to go there the more, to meet these crazy dudes(in a good way) and get to know them better, their history of texas and their values, hope they dont mind one English dude bugging them
Born and raised in S.A. Living in Austin for the past 25 years. Visit for business every 3 months. Austin has their issues. I'm very impressed with I saw in the video. Austin needs to take a look...
Generations come and go in San Antonio too. The old cemeteries are filled with people who lived and died in San Antonio from the 1800's to 2017. I have good and bad memories while growing up in San Antonio in the 1950's. Left San Antonio in 1964 at the age of 13. Have been living in California for years. Last time I visited San Antonio was in 1981 when my fther passed away. He was a WW2 veteran. I even remembered my old last address when we left. 813 So. San Marcos between Guadalupe and El Paso Street.
That is an interesting point. However, you need to realize that the cost of living in SA is way, way lower than it is in LA. Also, what draws a lot of homeless people to LA is the number of social services that cater to them.
I found a job in Downtown San Antonio for 'work and travel' would you suggest me that city? I want to practice my English and earn some money. And about cost of living in this city, if you compare it with average American cities what can you say is it affordable? I also study Spanish and I heard there are so many Hispanic origin people this can be an advantage for me as well I think, but for English would that be a disadvantage? And I heard people in the southern states are too cold and not so hospitable for foreigners is this right?
wow great video @jimkobeadventures takes me back home while im here in montana and missin the culture , and food and you and all my other friends back at work, gave it a thumbs up and subscribed
San Antonio is on the list of moving to. We live in Chicago, too much violence, high taxes and I'm afraid the city might tax us for breathing. Love the video, great job. I'll be searching for more information. Do you happen to have links that would help me? I would appreciate you if you do. Thanks
JimkobeAdventures I'm thinking of moving there in a year. I'm from NYC and I'm so over the expensive cost of living here. This video helped!! I want to visit San Antonio ASAP!
Beautiful video, I'm in nyc and looking to get the hell out of here. looking for affordable housing been looking at Dallas, Austin , Houston and San antonio, but San Antonio is cheaper homes am I correct?
Rickey Atkins, Sr. awesome thanks for the response i don't care what kind of job it is I'll work 2 or 3 jobs waiting tables, retail , whatever it is as long as I'm FAR away from nyc lolol this place is consuming me lolol
I have lived in San Francisco for 14 years now (from MA) and although this is an amazing city, the people are really "out there" for the most part. Like, insane people everywhere. I'm 32 now and just don't feel that I belong here anymore. It's become unaffordable to live here (I am a bartender) and there are homeless people and crack heads everywhere. The smell of human shit and urine permeates this city and now it never rains, and I love the rain. I'm hoping to save up a bit of money and visit San Antonio, something is calling me there. I earn $3,000 per month on a good month and the rent for my BEDROOM is $1,600...this doesn't work for me. Are there a good number of restaurants and bars in San Antonio as this is my area of expertise.
Jonathan Moore There are bars and restaurants EVERYWHERE! Come on down, we'd love to have you! San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the USA, but it has a small town vibe. Friendly people, world class cuisine, and the best Tex-Mex food on the planet.
Disagree about rent. On apartment listings, there's crap tons of decents rentals like under $700. You have to mess with the filters and change it to, "Low to high" for those prices on those sites. I guess if you gotta be in the city proper, duh it's going to be more expensive but otherwise 🤷🏻♀️. You should leave if you no longer like it. Maybe move to a smaller, calmer city like St Pete, FL. Also, almost every large city has the same issues like you described. Maybe it's not the city, maybe you're in a slump in your life and depressed. Depression alters your perception.
The best place for bike riding is the San Antonio river from downtown taking the new Mission Trails riding trails along the river down south to the missions.
Jim, Awesome Job Brother!!! We live in San Antonio and have a series called Van Time with Chuck and Deb on TH-cam. I'm looking for B-Roll for our videos. Can I use parts of your videos if we acknowledge your work and provide a link to your videos
210tx ♥️ I love that I can say I'm from San Antonio, Texas 🙌 I Take Pride In Where I'm From....It Can Be A Bit Rough Sometimes, But Hey, Your Not Living Unless You Have Problems 😏
Is San Antonio somewhat tolerant of gays? I blend in pretty well and don't push my sexuality on anyone. I'd love to visit there but am afraid to visit TX.
Jonathan Moore Don't be afraid of SA! It's a very liberal city and more than accepting. There's a part here that is dedicated to the gay scene which include bars, clubs & restaurants - they're all very fun!
lol even small town Texas towns are tolerant of gay people. We have plenty where I live and no one gives them any trouble. Don't believe the media, the south isn't what it used to be.
My husband is from California and he says that he has met more gay and trans people in Texas and was surprised by how tolerant even small town religious people are. Even the people who disapprove mostly keep it to themselves and really only tend to be the very elderly who are just kind of stuck in their ways.
Im the entire opposite lol Colorado was and is still the 1st other state I've visited......And once nothing is left for me here in San Antonio....I plan on moving to Colorado Springs or Manitou Springs
I may be moving to converse tx, just east of San Antonio early next year. I was wondering how is the motorcycling culture in the area? Are there plenty of great roads to drag peg.
qztip I grew up in converse/live oak area and yes there are still pockets out there for what your looking for however it honestly depends exectly where. Some parts have really gone downhill and there's construction going on & expanding.
Bo88y Beretta wow, I never saw this comment until today 3-3-17! I still haven't made it to Texas but I did move 2k miles from where I was when I made the original post.
Top ten cities I would bomb if I was God 1 Phoenix 2 San Antonio 3 Albuquerque 4 St. Louis 5 Santa Fe 6 Detroit 7 Baltimore 8 Las Cruces 9 Houston 10 Tucson
No mention of the horrible downtown riots and damage; the Alamo is closed and surrounded by a high riot fence and concrete barrier to keep out rioters cars; many restaurants and shops closed and few locals because of fear; and a whopping 17 percent hotel room tax when you check out
Moshe Borisoff There is a Jewish community, especially towards the north central part. There is a grocery store in that area that has Kosher products since it is within that region.
Dude...show the (WHOLE)REAL SAN ANTONIO not just the DOWNTOWN but WESTSIDE and SOUTHSIDE(the poor area, not the outer part of Loop 410). You're doing the same shit that the tourist industry at Miami does. Be truthful. San Antonio is not all that nice. I'm from San Antonio...born and raised. I've lived here a lot longer than you, son. I'm a westsider.
Omg is right. I left San Antonio 10 years ago. Not cause it was such a great place. Sorry. Almost every picture shot is where people were robbed and assaulted. Nice fantasy you're peddling. Unfortunately we don't live in a fantasy world. Where's the homeless and displaced. Nice. Stick with your fantasy. Who'd want to burst their bubbles. Not you...
Moving to SA in 6 mos. So many ppl have been telling me it's a bad idea bla bla bla.... but I love how theres so much to do and sightsee....so I'm moving anyways. Wish me luck
Hi did you move to SA? I live in Miami and I am considering also!
I'm moving to San Antonio soon & honestly, I can't wait. It's just more beautiful than I had ever imagined. Definitely gotta visit downtown cuz I'm already in love! :)

Update: I moved from the island of Guam to here. It’s actually been a really awesome experience :)
Wow this is why i want to visit texas so bad. Theres just something about the proud people of that state that makes me want to go there the more, to meet these crazy dudes(in a good way) and get to know them better, their history of texas and their values, hope they dont mind one English dude bugging them

Very romantic city! I really enjoyed my stay 😍

San Antonio is nice, stay in California
Wow dude I stay right off of Guadalupe and El Paso. So crazy to hear of these streets on TH-cam lol! That’s the hood. cx
moving to San Antonio from Georgia
I live in Lithuania. I was in Texas in 2003 (Lackland AFB as international military student). Enjoyed everything about TX except summer heat.
This look better than downtown L.A. no homlesses on the streets in San Antonio like L.A.
That is an interesting point. However, you need to realize that the cost of living in SA is way, way lower than it is in LA. Also, what draws a lot of homeless people to LA is the number of social services that cater to them.
beautiful city been there many times. 8 hour drive from where I live
I myself was born, raised n still love n live our city of San Antonio
Cool video! I live in SA currently. Really enjoying it.
San Andreas?

I found a job in Downtown San Antonio for 'work and travel' would you suggest me that city? I want to practice my English and earn some money. edge2991 dude yes!!! San Antonio is way cheaper. I recommend you coming here. I think you'll love it
How's the job scene over there? I don't care what it is I'll do anything , any retail, malls , gyms ?
edge2991 PLENTY. The best mall in SA is North star. Plenty of gyms and retail.
Rickey Atkins, Sr. awesome thanks for the response i don't care what kind of job it is I'll work 2 or 3 jobs waiting tables, retail , whatever it is as long as I'm FAR away from nyc lolol this place is consuming me lolol
edge2991 Yea ive met quite a few new Yorkers saying the same. Haha

Renee Mulherin. Besides,San Antonio has the least expensive rent than Dallas,Houston and even Austin!

What a beautiful place
just bought a bike last week....where do you recommend city/park riding
Louis Perez brakenridge park and Woodlawn park. and along Broadway in Alamo heights is a nice bike route.
Louis Perez The north portion of the river and Southtown portion. Great places from my experience.
Can I use parts of your videos if we acknowledge your work and provide a link to your videos

to be honest, no one will care if u go to the right side of town
My husband is from California and he says that he has met more gay and trans people in Texas and was surprised by how tolerant even small town religious people are. Even the people who disapprove mostly keep it to themselves and really only tend to be the very elderly who are just kind of stuck in their ways.
My bf and I hold hands in public all the time here. We get more stares when we're in NYC. Weird.
Thanks for sharing! My hubby and I are moving their in the spring from Colorado (y'all are probably sick of Coloradoans lol).
Regina Thomas 😱😱 why in the world would u want to leave Colorado lol.
Im the entire opposite lol Colorado was and is still the 1st other state I've visited......And once nothing is left for me here in San Antonio....I plan on moving to Colorado Springs or Manitou Springs

Did I see Elvis riding a bike?
Yes, he's a downtown fixture. Really.
Hell ya !!
Pokemon go?
lmao
Except for the river, everything else looks like any other typical American city
No mention of the horrible downtown riots and damage; the Alamo is closed and surrounded by a high riot fence and concrete barrier to keep out rioters cars; many restaurants and shops closed and few locals because of fear; and a whopping 17 percent hotel room tax when you check out
John Sanchez this video was in 2016 fkn Idiot.
How is the Orthodox Jewish Community in San Antonio?
Moshe Borisoff There is a Jewish community, especially towards the north central part. There is a grocery store in that area that has Kosher products since it is within that region.
People don't know that riding a bike on the sidewalk is against the law?
you've selectively left out the abundant homeless and drug addicts. downtown sa isn't a shithole but its definitely not perfect either
Got very bored with both the song and bike ride. Next time try a helicopter, or a drone.
Not so pretty right now...
Nothing is pretty right now.
0:40 - 0:46 nobody wants to see your bike dude
