I love Bert's playing. ❤️ Precious. My husband and I danced to his Wounderland by night melody on our wedding day. We called it our song. This was in October of 1960. I didn't realize he did all of these tunes which I love. I love the one, Sweet Caroline. 😋 What a very talented person. To bad he is gone. Rip 🙏
I have heard Bert's music many times but I never had looked him up to see him or anything about him. What a happy and talented music man ! It makes me proud to be of German descent myself, he was really and truly a genius ! Very sad to think he left us while so young.
Schade, daß es den Sender Zdf Kultur nicht mehr gibt. Solch schöne Konzertaufnahmen sieht man heute zu selten im Fernsehen, lieber wird der Zerfall der Kultur (Dschungelcamp, Big Brother und sämtliche Datingshows) gezeigt.

Great to see another Bert live concert. And I see Fred Moch on the trumpet section, so the story that they never spoke after the 1967 money row is laid to rest. BK was the greatest - great arrangements and original compositions, great musicians. Total quality!

Kaempferts Musik hörte ich als Kind schon in den Siebzigern gerne, daran hat sich bis heute nichts geändert. Großartiger Komponist, leider viel zu früh verstorben. "Danke Bert für Deine Musik"

Kaempfert was born in Hamburg, Germany, where he received his lifelong nickname, Fips, and studied at the local school of music. A multi-instrumentalist, he was hired by Hans Busch to play with his orchestra before serving as a bandsman in the German Navy during World War II. He later formed his own big band, toured with them, then worked as an arranger and producer, making hit records with Freddy Quinn and Ivo Robić. In 1961, he hired.

In most cases it's impossible to keep the band alive. That the James Last Orchestra existed, as long James Last lived, was a little miracle. And that the Glenn Miller Orchestra exists, is a bigger miracle, but not a standard.

Pocas veces o ninguna en ningún grupo musical se da la oportunidad de sobresalir tanto a un maravilloso bajo y contrabajo, dando un dulce sabor marcador al ritmo como a este instrumento que normalmente pasa desapersivido. De los vientos ni hablar, en la orquesta de Bert son lo más importante y el coro es maravilloso cuando interviene. Gracias Bert por haber existido.
Ack van Rooyen hat sein Flügelhorn am 18. November für immer an die Seite gelegt! Er verstarb am 18. November in Den Haag. Ab Oktober 1969 übernahm bei Produktion des Albums "The Kaempfert Touch", Ack van Rooyen zum 1. Mal die Trompeten- und Flügelhornsoli im Orchester Bert Kaempfert. Als brillanter Solist auf der Trumpete und dem Flügelhorn, war van Rooyen für den Kaempfert-Sound sehr stilbildend zählte ab dann zu Kaempferts festen Ansamble.
