Dan Redfor tiene toda la razón, no he visto a nadie tocar una trompeta con mayor afinación y nitidez, solo Manfred Moch. Esta tocando a Dios allá en el cielo.
Great video showing these great musicians. Manfred Moch's story of leaving Kaempfert is slightly misleading. He did work with Kaempfert again in the mid to late 70s, but only as a trumpet section member, not as soloist. Check out the live video of That Happy Feeling, where Moch is present in the trumpet section.
Manfred Moch was a true legend and helped Kaempfert produce some classics. When he left, the sound was never quite the same again. If yuou check out Afrikaan Beat for example Moch and post Moch you will see what I mean.

@russallert I think by the studio recording in October 1976 in Hamburg of Safari Swings Again, Manni Moch was also there in trumpet section, but the solos played Ack van Rooyen.
Is this really a photograph of the recording session of "Safari Swings Again"? For the trumpet sound of that tunes I thought that the soloist was Ack Van Rooyen.
@@johncantwell8216 I believe Tabor did the first recording in the studio . The album was produced in America. Germany didn’t feel it was “ appropriate “. Once the record was released in 1961, Manni joined Bert. I guess Tabor left. And Manni did the live performances in Germany of WBN and subsequent albums that came out, Manni did all the solos. He was the best. After he left Bert, Ack Van Rooyen took Manni’s place as trumpet solo. He just didn’t, in my opinion, have the Soul Manni did in playing the trumpet.
It was sad to hear that Bert K was such a miser, so he couldn't pay his best soloists. Sees that other orchestra leaders "took over" them. Apart from Geisler, who seemed to be faithful to him "to the End"
Danke, dass wir hier diesen schöne Filmausschnitt genießen können, vor allem dem exzellenten Trompeter Manfred Moch!
I love his musical style. I can listen to music and tell you when he is playing. Very distinctive sound. Thanks for the post.
This is the first video in which I've seen Bert Kaempfert speak in English, briefly. Thanks for posting this!

Thank you for posting this. Would love to see the whole doc if you ever find time to post it!

Manfred Moch, the best!

Dan Redford , yes, exactly my thoughts too
I agree.....should have paid Moch what he wanted.
This is so true ,the sound was not the same and realy far from the way Manfred was playing. He realy was a virtuose.
Dan Redford, I agree
I'm thrilled at knowing the back ground of Bert kaemfert tell me more please❤ 4:23
Ladi Geisler.. a great musician, the real pioneer of the sound of all modern bass players !
This is an interesting documentary on Bert Kaempfert. I wish I could see the whole thing.
Thanks for your help! I finally found it! Album "Safari swings again" and the title is "Sugar bush"!
For eternity ...
Bert kaemfert fantástico.

What a loss to have lost Bert Kaempfert at such a young age!

I just realized that the picture of Moch at the Safari Swings Again session is in this clip at 3:42 - sitting to the left of Fisher.
@77easylis
That's right, I've seen a picture of that session, with Tony Fisher, Heinz Habermann, Werner Gutterer and Moch in the trumpet section.
Assembly of note worthy musicians. Pay them.
For all I know it´s "Happy Safari" from the album "Safari swings again" (rec. 1977).
Me gustaría que estuviera su biografía de Bert Kaempfert en español. Mucho he de agradecer : pues no se inglés de aquí de Guadalajara Jalisco México

There is a disconnect here between Manfred Moch being dropped for asking for a raise and everyone else saying Bert was a really nice guy.
Really. Bert lost the best trumpet solo player in Manfred. No one could replace MANNI. No one
@@rainehobson3711 I did not order this pizza. You should try next door.
@@Twirlyhead what is your problem?
@russallert
Thank you for the reply. I've seen it too. Manfred Moch sits on the left with beard.
Kind regards and thank you for the upload.

Sleevography PLEASE upload the whole of this programme (if you have it).... many many many folks would love to know, hear, see more!
I agree
Yes, ..,interesting stuff..Any more?😀
Question: who played the trumpet solo on the recording of "Wonderland by Night": was it Charles Tabor or Manfred Moch?
Tabor played the first on the recording. Then MANNI came in. MANNI was the best
@@rainehobson3711 So they both solo on the same recording of that song?

The tune of 3:26 is not "Happy Safari". It's "Sugar Bush", both are part of "Safari Swings Again".
Nice.
Manfred Moch passed away May 28 2011.
BERT KAEMPFERT SUPERMAN NAMBER 1
Moch 🎺🏆🏆🏆
is this part of the video are is there more
It´s definitely not "Happy Feeling". Compare the title at 3:26 with "Happy Feeling" available in TH-cam! Berthold is right: It´s "Happy Safari".
What is the trumpet tune leading up to the interview with Moch?
Starting at 1:29
Manfred Moch, never got the credit he so deserved. Wonderland By Night would never made it without Manfred, SAD
family history
Thank you for be a relative of this wonderful and unequalable musician. Bert Kaempfert forever!

Alles est gut, except he refused to pay one the best Trumpeters he had. huh, Soooo,,, Ha But I always loved the sound, orchestra.
