- Today we're taking a walk through the 2010s and looking at some of my least favorite country music from the past decade. I feel like I've said a LOT about some of the biggest bro country offenders on this channel, so I tried to focus on some other ones this time around!

While those aren't good songs, they're now where near as bad as a lot of the stuff that came out in the 2010s
"Stuck Like Glue" was written in part by Kevin Griffin, frontman of one of the best bands that never got super famous, Better Than Ezra. I dig it.
Yeah, the lyrics are shit but Yeah is catchy af. As far as stuck like glue, I’ve always hated Jennifer’s voice. It’s fuckin weird and nasal and throaty and is like nails on a chalkboard to me 😂🤷🏼♀️

Colbert knew that inserting “vagina owner” into his song parody would be LESS patronizing, and therefore MORE respectful to women, than Urban’s “sincere” version.
Because Colbert is a very smart man, not just a very sharp comedian - in the wake of the Weinstein revelations, he could see the rush to male virtue signaling, and Urban’s patronizing version of respect for women, coming a mile away.

Take A Drunk Girl Home is so difficult to get through. It has a good message and means well, but I turn it every time.

I stopped listening to current contemporary country in about 2013 for these very reasons. I listen to Classic Country 80’s and earlier). These new country singers are too influenced by rap and bubblegum pop music.

"Yeah" and "Stuck like glue" aren’t the deepest country songs, but I think they’re fun and enjoy listening to them. They both just brighten my day
Just stick with country music tradition. I mean Waylon Jennings, Johnny Paycheck, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, George Strait, Johnny Russell, Judds, Connie Smith, Sylvia Hutton, Dave Dudley, Del Reeves, Red Simpson etc.

“Truck Yeah” and “Stuck Like Glue” are huge guilty pleasures of mine.
Also "Good Run Of Bad Luck" by Clint Black, "Don't Mess Around With Jim" (I love Josh Turner's version of the song), "This Kiss" by Aaron Tippin" "Honky Tonk World" by Chris Ledoux and "Louisiana Coco" by The Kentucky Headhunters. Those are all guilty pleasures of mine^^lol
I hate a lot of Luke Bryan's songs, but probably the worst ones of his were "Knockin Boots" and "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset Repeat".

Well that was a Brantley Gilbert song sooooo
CountryBoyVA16 BG fans knew he wrote the song, but most country music fans had never heard of him at that time. Not a big fan of JA, but he made Brantley a load of money & helped pave the way for him into the mainstream country spotlight.
Jason Aldean's style set that fine line in place that should've never been crossed in my humble opinion. Although it was a Brantley song, Aldean had a TON of momentum after Big Green Tractor/She's County and when he cut Anthem and My Kinda Party (both Brantley songs) he completely exploded, but some of his deep cuts like This I Gotta See, Wide Open, etc. are GREAT songs. But yeah, Jason Aldean is as bro as it should've ever gotten. Again, all in my humble opinion.
Wasn't Aldean, it was Florida Georgia Line a year later. Everyone tried to sound like them.

Same. At my old job about 10 years ago the radio was always new country in the office. And bring new country the same 15 songs were played every hour in what seemed like an eternal loop. Including “stuck like glue” and eventually “boys round here” and I just couldn’t handle that crap. It’s so bad. Honestly, stuck like glue wouldn’t have been bad had it not been for that weird rap thing she did. That ruined the song.

“Country girl, shake it for me ... girl.” Yeah worst song ever. And that’s coming from someone who loved honky tonk badonkadonk. At least that was clever and catchy.

You’re bang on with most of these. I still also really enjoy Yeah. Catchy chord progression although used a lot in country. I like the simplicity of that song. Just going with the flow and being easy going.

Grady, have you considered (if you haven't done so already) making a video on the most overplayed songs (like on the radio) of a given time? For example, I actually got so annoyed that the radios would play the song "Alcohol" by Brad Paisley when it first came out that, I legitimately hate that song now. Just an idea for a future video! Other wise I agree, I also think auto tune and DJ scratches should be banned.
I went to middle school in the early 2010s and primarily listened to country music. I’ve only heard 3 or 4 of these songs and kind of like those at the time but looking back I think these kind of songs are what ushered me out of the genre as a whole. Every once and a while I dip my toe back into country music by checking out artists you recommend or the popular songs on Spotify, but when I do it’s the exact opposite of this stuff.
Yesterday I visited "Hot Country" playlist on Spotify and there is like five real country songs. Every other song is a mixture of an unoriginal mainstream pop with crappy hip hop beat and artificial drums.

Glad you mentioned "Said No One Ever". It's rare for me to hear a song that's so bad I can't even sit through the entire thing, but I actually had to turn off the radio for that one. The constant repetition of that line was beyond grating.
Not to mention that today's country is missing its most important elements: 3 cords and the truth. As Travis Tritt said, "Country ain't country no more."

Danielle bradbery is an amazing artist, but friend zone was really bad. If you dislike her, listen to her original album and I garuntee you’ll have a different opinion about her
While her first album is good, her second album, I Don't Believe We've Met, is far better and one of my favorites. While Friend Zone is far from her best, it is still highly enjoyable and is no way reminiscent of anything else she's released.

I like 90s country but it's definitely not the GOAT. Really the GOAT is probably more like the 1950s to the late 70s. You could probably make an argument for the 80s because of guys like Willie Nelson and Hank Jr but I'd say the strongest argument is probably for the 60s with Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and even Elvis.

That was a song, a well crafted and articulated story song by a country god. There's no way they are still playing Old Town Road in 40 years but they will still be playing Don Williams. Forgettable smap, that's 90% of what comes out of Nashville now.

Great job! The real problem with this type of montage S that there was so much crappy "country" music in the 2010's that you might have to just list about 60%of everything that played on the radio!
Seriously, this was the decade that live "radio" became irrelevant to me - and, I stopped listening. It is what pushed me into using Google Music playlists I created instead.
Most of these songs I haven’t even heard of but a few of them are put on Spotify radio so I hear them all the time such as “Stuck like Glue” and “Yeah” and “Truck Yeah”.

Stuck like glue is the song I grew up dancing in the kitchen with my mom. It may not be a great “country” song, but it’s still a really great song to listen to and has been one of my favorites for a long time.
