We absolutely love our 22 Lexus RX with it’s known reliably. Didn’t want the 4 cylinder twin turbos. You didn’t mention the new 23 RX requiring premium fuel. Too bad government is forcing automakers to kill the tried and tested V8 and V6.

Excellent review. My son bought one about a month ago and has raved about the good things you liked and talked about, and has complained about the same things that you don't like. We currently have a 2022 RX HL, and liked some of the new upgrades. But based on your review and his agreement with your review, we are going to wait. By the way, since I was hit in the back while I was stopped at a light, the bumper did a great job of protecting the body and trunk (no damage). Do you think the lack of a protruding bumper is a negative? I feel like it is.

Beats the heck out of an Audi, BMW, or Mercedes which are holes in the pavement through which people throw money. People buy the Lexus suvs because they are reliable, roomy enough, run forever, practical, and comfortable. Not interested in 0-60 stats. Why don't these guys know this?

This car is just stunning. Smooth ride and super quiet cabin. We love the new handle features, but you're right, when you tried for the 1st time it can be confusing. Then it's just really nice to open the door or getting out from it. We just fell in love with the RX! Waiting for ours to come to the dealer!

This is really well done and valid points. For the 'Ugly', those door handles are a completely unnecessary and actually 'dangerous' design. Eg. If this car gets into an accident and loses power, someone from the outside can NOT intuitively open the car door. If they smash the glass, the normal person wouldn't know how to open the door either. Who would guess you would have to PULL the little handle and if so, how would you know to pull TWICE. The other dealbreaker is the HUD. Those controls on the steering wheel are absolutely infuriating. Less is more Lexus...keep it simple

The trans knob is the same configuration as a Prius. The Prius has had it for years and I’m pretty sure there’s no issues. The new door handles aren’t an issue, if the system breaks they have the physical release under the door handle to get in and the handle inside to exit can be used as a mechanical release when you pull twice.

And I Can Honestly 100% Agree With Them As Well!! For Not Only Is It Absolutely Creamy Smooth, And Ultra Refined, The Fuel Economy Im Getting Is Also Superb!! Excellent unbiased review!
Totally agree with your “bads”, especially the capacitive touch steering wheel buttons that require you to use the heads-up display, and the silly electronic door handles; why try to fix a problem that didn’t exist!
A couple more misses: lack of interior storage space (no center console pass through or under console storage, very little under cargo floor storage), and the rear seats don’t adjust fore and aft (they don’t slide forward or back)!
I think the best value is the 350h Premium. No heads-up display with the confusing steering wheel buttons, the smaller infotainment screen with more buttons, and no extra charge for the hybrid power train that is as quick as the ICE turbo with much better fuel economy.

I agree with the things that aren’t “good” about the RX. Why fix something that isn’t broken? An electronic handle to open the car? Why? That’s so tedious. The shifter being redone, not sure why they thought it was a good idea. Shifting left and down/up to get into different modes is just adding an extra step that wasn’t necessary. I do wish there were more buttons on the dash for climate control. Having it installed into the infotainment system seems dangerous since you’d have to reach over, press and constantly take your eyes away. It’s counterintuitive with the drive safety feature.
I really do like the RX, might buy one when I have the funds saved up for one. No car is perfect.
