      MO/NWA is a great place. I 'm not from there originally (upper mid west) and have been outside the US for 30 yrs, returning soon. i can choose to live any place i want basically. i chose SW MO. It ticks all of the boxes for me and i like to think of it as above avg. in just about every category that counts for me, but no category is a 10/10 or a 1/10 in my book and no single area of the country is a 10/10, especially now. Instant Acres is a good firm to work with if you don't mind buying into a 'development' w multiple lots vs. just random raw land isolated by itself. the good thing is the 'developments' are almost certain to contain people who think and value the same things you do as well. covenants are most reasonable and many of the counties in this region when outside of the city limits have reasonable and non prohibitive building codes as well.
