Thanks for uploading. Enjoyed watching the ride. Such great views, weather and good tarmac with few cars! Can’t wait to get back on my bike and explore again!
Hey a new subscriber here 🙋🏻♂️ nice videos! Did a bike trip with my buddy around Hiroshima and Okinawa in 2017 & 2019 (we live in Hong Kong). Was planning another one in Wakayama last year, then came the COVID. So happy to come across your channel 👍
Two wheel cruise (I think you know him) seems to do well with his audio. But he has to avoid headwinds. I wish you had gotten that camera much sooner. Now I would like to see more of those epic 2 hour rides😊
I live in a smallish city in Japan surrounded by mountains and the sea (as many are). In order to go anywhere, my choices are often limited to 2-lane motorways, sometimes very busy with big trucks carrying stuff to surrounding mountain/rural towns - and sometimes it is hard to find a route in a given direction that doesn't include both these trucks and tunnels, a combination of which I am deathly afraid. Any tips/dos/don'ts about how to stay safe getting out of the city and into the mountain roads when you can't help but share the road with traffic including big trucks? I've been hesitant to get out of my city because I frankly just don't trust the drivers here.
Hey IAmTux. It's hard to say specifically based on not knowing exactly where you are. but the coastal areas are indeed very challenging as they tend to have most of the population and very narrow roads with lots of traffic. If you want to share the rough location of where you are I'd be happy to try to offer some solutions but in general your goal is to find the smallest roads and the ones with the least cars. This often means roads that don't have numbers such as route 1 etc. Happy hunting!
I see. I have not ridden there before, but I think you have some great nature just beyond the city to the SW. Have you tried to ride the roads behind Mt Bizan? They look nice and great view at the top.
My experience is that the real danger is the mamachari riders. Trucks seem to be very considerate in general and give plenty of space while overtaking by comparison with smaller cars which don't give much space during and right after overtaking. sometimes I feel like those drivers can't look in the side mirror/or think I'm a stationary object. Once you know the exact ways to ride you'll feel more confident. Stay safe!
They certainly assume everybody here is riding at like 10 km an hour. agreed that overtaking typically occurs way too close by minivans especially. one of my theories is just that a lot of people have no real concept of how big their car is. I think this is true of most drivers honestly that don't ride bikes
What's your favorite winter route?
5 mins on the bike path to DaMaki Pizza 🍕

@@bigredreborn let me know if you are ever over Kiryu way :)
@@RindoRob Will do!
Hey did you upgrade your camera? Love it!
Hey Alex, yeah I did! Got a GoPro Hero9 but audio is really rough with even a little wind. Trying to find a solution for it now..
@@RindoRob I use a GoPro media mod case with a lavaliere mic. Not perfect, but seems to work ok. Good video.
I think that will be the way to go for POV, but what about when you talk to the camera? Like the wire?
Or is it wireless?
