Hi, thanks for the question. Sardine, silver green mackerel, mack tuna are popular for yellowtail. Match the hatch for what the yellowtail are feeding on is always a good strategy.
Do you prefer the bigger 150 spanish macks or the 115. I really like the 150 and have more confidence in that but i dont know of a tackle store that stocks the 150s so if i dont wanna pay extra for shipping i only really have the 115. Is it worth the extra $$$ for the bigger size or is the 115 just as good as the 150
Hi thanks for the message. It depends on the situation. Both are built tough. If the fish are feeding on larger prey then the 150 may well get the bite over the 115 and vice versa. Casting distance is another factor. Cabo surfcaster swears by the 150 as it is heavier and casts a mile.
It's a nomad rod specially designed for the madscad, looks like Damian is using the 20-65gr one. I have it and fully recommend, utterly rugged, light and cast great❤️
Nice lures
Love the two 115s I bought! Have you had success just trolling them at 6-7 knots?
What would be a good color for yellowtail? I'm fish in southern California and I would appreciate so.e good advice.
