I did the exact same thing with Palkia in one of my Pearl reruns. Dalgia and Palkia both have HIGHLY inflated catch odds to make them easy to catch so that you can't really miss them.

Interestingly, Palkia and Dialga have a catch rate of 30 in D/P/Pt, so catching either in a regular Poké Ball is not too difficult. Still, very impressive that you caught it in the VERY FIRST ball! Also, mad respect to you for choosing Diamond for this challenge, that was my very first main series Pokémon game I ever owned, as a 9-year old. My first Pokémon game ever was the original Ranger. So underrated.

Shadows of Almia is definitely the best one in the series (saying this without having watched a full playthrough of Guardian Signs, oops), but it would also be awesome to see one of these Pokétubers play the original Pokémon Ranger game, in Gen 3, and make a video out of it. The original is challenging and has a lot of nostalgic music, great music, and a creepy overworld as Pokémon can do more to you than just chase after or charge at you. They can confuse you, whisk away your own Pokémon, be invisible, hide in the tall grass and other things.
If you're willing to farm Heart Scales in the Underground, you can restore the PP of any level-up moves infinitely by first visiting the Move Deleter, then giving a Heart Scale to the Move Reminder in Pastoria.
That dialga catch reminds me of my first Pokemon Platinum run. Where I second turn caught both Dialga and Palkia with regular pokeballs during their respective battles. Unfortunately I was far too young to truly understand the hype level of that achievement.
Technically, since the pokemon league also contains a pokemon center, you entered one and the run is invalid. Real talk though, Gen 4 was my first pokemon game and I'm glad to see people doing new things in it.

In Diamond and Pearl it was actually pretty decent odds, about on par with Pokémon like Absol, Murkrow and Chatot (probably because it was a required part of the story), but in later games, they made it the same as every other legendary Pokémon. I don't mean to ruin the moment, because first turn Dialga in a Pokéball is still pretty cool, but not nearly as unlikely as it seems

you should do a randomized thicclocke! Same rules as a nuzlocke but you can only catch the first thicc pokemon you encounter per route. (recommend selecting thicc starter pokemon as well)
