@@simonw.1223 I think the over level mechanics are the same as most previous games but you wouldn't be able to catch a lvl60+ outside trading. The rocky helmet has been around since black and white versions.
@@simonw.1223 I think the wall teleporting is due to a merging of battle set up from Arceus (where the pokemon could be thrown anywhere) and main line games (where the trainer was positioned relative to the battle).
If you feed sandwiches to your disobedient Pokémon until they love you (4 hearts), you can command them without badges. They also gain hearts as they win battles, get healed by items, and if they’re outside walking with you. So you can have a full team of lvl 50+ obedient Pokémon before you even get a single badge. This game is very balanced.

"This Garchomp is my life" - Cynthia, probably. All bugs and glitches aside, I love the Gym leader lineup of this game. Iono is every streamer in a nutshell, Ryme is a top 10 rapper Eminem is too afraid to diss, Kofu promotes gambling, and Larry is an absolute mood. And Arven and his storyline pulls just the right amount of heartstrings. It's enough to make a grown man cry...and that's okay. The game indeed broke us. Game Freak knew what they were doing
I think when he was out of bounds, he actually found a shiny orthworm. Yeah at around 9:40 it's a shame that he can't catch it though. Edit: thankfully it wasn't. Edit 2: I didn't even know it was a titan.
This sequence break at 2:10 - 2:24 let's you go to every location in the game letting you catch the majority of the national Dex with the exception of night time encounters, evolutions at night and evolving sligoo into goodra because there is no rain until you complete the tutorial. I had registered about 280 pokemon of the national Dex before completing the tutorial in about 4-5 days with each session over 5 hours of gameplay. If you are wondering which version I'm on it's violet.
if i were to take a guess at the opening cutscene issues, it has something to do with animations slowing down with distance. if you get far away enough from characters, their animations get choppy. i feel like that’s the reason but i honestly don’t know Edit: i don’t mean the actual opening cutscene, pointcrow refered to it as that. i’m talking about the first scene in school with all the students at the desks
The t pose shows up for a frame and the screen is very dark. I had to go frame by frame to even notice it. Unless you have a super bright screen, it is not going to be noticable.
Yeah it's a resource saving measure a lot of games use, it's just so aggressive here because game freak needed Pokemon out by the holiday or their poor profits would suffer. Such a shame since there's a genuinely great game hiding behind all the glitches and jank, but man they make it hard to enjoy
I jumped into the crater after I beat it to see if it let's you in if you jump over, it does, so I was curious if you could just jump right in before you were supposed to. I never thought I'd get that question answered lmao you are truly the best
This is so scary close to how I played through Violet trying to glitch hunt and mess around. I couldn't get to the area zero until glide, so made props!
You know, all these glitches would ruin the game for some people...I am not some people. It honestly reminds me of one of my more favorite games in recent memory, and while it does have some dated graphics, it’s still surprisingly fun.
I think that was the most heart breaking story they ever did in Pokemon! Hats off to them, they did something right, amidst all the horrible glitching.
I accidently did the glitch at 02:00 when I was doing my playthrough, didn't even know if it would be considered a glitch and I hadn't seen any gameplay as I wanted to play story-spoiler free. Its also how I got a level 25 pokemon with my level 18 starter and like lvl 10 other pokemon. (I was just catching and evolving as much as I could so I could get an early-ish lead on completing the dex.)
I love how even while he’s laughing at the fragile state of reality in Violet, Crow can’t help but get drawn into the story of Arven and Masbosstiff like everyone else. Truly a simple but effective storyline that touched everyone’s heart
Of all the video game content out there, glitch content is my favorite. Hopefully we get to see more of you exploring the glitches in Scarlet/Violet cause it's the best.
The glitches aren’t the worst part of the game, it’s the fact that you can’t turn your camera around to your face to take a trainer photo. Still enjoyable though more so than I can say about Pokemon sword and shield
I would just like to bring to people's attention what is happening with the frame rate: More distant 3D models are being rendered dynamically at a slower rate to ensure that the players own movement is updated at a reasonable rate. The framerate without this feature would be the average of all characters on screen. Looking at character and level design. 1. Looking at the NPC textures, even up really close there seems to be little sign of pixelation (not to be confused with the jagged lines between textures due to no anti-aliasing). 2. There are often dozens of NPCs/Pokemon on screen at a time. 3. The environments are often large and cluttered with the vast majority set outside (they litterally moved the pokemart and pokemon centre outside). 4. The player is able to move around at high speeds. 5. The game has dynamic lighting and reflections. The game's actual framerate is actually quite smooth and rarely drops even when moving fast. This isn't lazy programming, this is damage control making an otherwise unplayable game playable at the expense of most NPCs looking weird.
I’ve found a lot of fun glitches in Scarlet, they’re probably mostly the same. I like the teleportation glitch, although it’s not useful to me anymore. I do love the fact that after beating 1 gym, my level cap for control was ignored, lol. Pyroar is 15 levels too high and listening, and I love that. She’s overpowered.
From my point of view, heavily hyped games have a sort of "honeymoon phase" around release date where one sees it through rose tinted glasses. Then once enough time passes, the more questionnable decisions and oversights become more apparent, usually during the game's midpoint, a second playthrough or new game +. For example, I remember both myself and others thinking the Revelations route of Fire Emblem Fates had the best story but nowadays it makes me wish the Nohr royals were more relevant to the plot as even Garon gets unceremoniously killed off. Open world games in particular seem to be extremely prone to this as a result of being hyped up as being inherently better than linear games while also being very unstable in unintentionally funny ways.
I'm one of the few remaining Fossil Fighters fans, and I can tell you that when FF Frontiers (the worst one that killed the franchise) released, I overlooked A LOT. I was really excited for it since FF1 and FFC were a huge part of my childhood, but the moment I stopped playing and took a few days off, I realized how many characters they gutted and how many shoddy redesigns and braindead gameplay decisions were made. For people who don't know, the first two games were made for the DS, but Frontiers was made for the 3DS. At its height, FF had 173 fully modeled obtainable characters you could use in teams of 3. Frontiers barely had 100, and that's including the models that were just palette swaps intended to be "regional variants." You know what the worst part was? They only let the player directly control ONE party member, and made the other two Ai piloted from a limited pool of pre-selected characters. I think it should go without saying, but if your previous game running on INFERIOR HARDWARE can have triple the content and outshine you graphically, then you've failed.
The worst part of this is that a lot of the reviews are from or a little after the game's release, so the game gets an undeserving score because people didn't had the time to stew on the game and let it sit for a while before they made a final judgment. It's why i don't take reviews on release seriously, even if they are glowing.
Okay, so to be honest here I actually opened this video in private because I was interested enough to want to watch it, but not to have youtube add it to my watch algorithm... But your reactions made this video so great I rewatched it normally. You sir, earned a sub. Also I actually really want this game now.
I started hearing the Persona 5 music while you were trying to get into Area Zero early and I have flashbacks to the nightmare of a time I had in Okumura’s palace. Nice to see you’re having fun, I need it go lie down..
Another good thing about this game is that I can see how many Shinies I've encountered. That way I can keep track of how many times I've been an oblivious idiot.
The most amusing glitches I had in Scarlet were: In the big city, I saw half a shopping back magically float past me. The wire, claymation like way people move. Sometimes, when I battle, the camera clips and I have a Pokémon battle on the top half and an ocean on the bottom half. When I put Koraidon a way while it’s running, I fly threw the air for a moment before standing up.
When I just started playing this(exactly 2 weeks ago) I thought the glitches made it crappy but now I know that the glitches make the game hilarious fun.
I gotta admit, I really enjoyed the game. They should have postponed it to make it actually optimized/playable, but I would say I was also pretty luck y and had only minor issues at worst.
There was no shiny orthworm, that's just the underside of it. You can tell its not shiny because you can see a red hue around the edges and that the blue circles are the normal blue. Shiny Orthworm has dark blue circles. Also that's the Titan, which is shiny locked.
@PointCrow: In the first cave where Mirai/koraidon protect you from all the houndooms there's a ledge with an HM that you're supposed to fall down to, but if you target the pokemon that spawn there you can teleport up and clip out of bounds there consistently as well. Dunno if anyone's documented it but I accidentally found the clip early on in my original playthrough, lol.
I'm trying to get a shiny noibat and there's a cave that spawns a decent amount. But last night I found out that also spawns a bunch inside the walls so now I have to glitch out of bounds to make sure I'm not missing a shiny.
Looking at where the game is now, I'm glad I stuck with it. I never saw any of this in game and the worst thing was the framerate. SV is probably one of the best Pokemon games they have ever made.

@@cobaltordinaire5219 And if you Tera into one of your original types the STAB bonus from that type changes from 1.5x to 2x
I'm confused on how he managed to use it tho with the level caps as the gym level limits still apply to s/v

“I GOT A TERA TYPE GARCHOMP”
*proceeds to start the game*
"This Garchomp is my life" - Cynthia, probably. All bugs and glitches aside, I love the Gym leader lineup of this game. Iono is every streamer in a nutshell, Ryme is a top 10 rapper Eminem is too afraid to diss, Kofu promotes gambling, and Larry is an absolute mood. And Arven and his storyline pulls just the right amount of heartstrings. It's enough to make a grown man cry...and that's okay. The game indeed broke us. Game Freak knew what they were doing
And grusha is a femboy.
Arven is my beloved. He needs therapy and then a hug lmao
I think when he was out of bounds, he actually found a shiny orthworm. Yeah at around 9:40 it's a shame that he can't catch it though.
Edit: thankfully it wasn't.
Edit 2: I didn't even know it was a titan.
Wait so the blue one was shiny?
...I would have lived better not knowing that he missed a shiny...
im pretty sure thats just the belly of a normal orthworm. you can see red on the edges of it
@@Akirameta84 Yeah, you're right.
Shiny Orthworm is light blue tho.
"And there we go guys! We caught: a Garchomp. A terra-type Garchomp."
"...You guys ready to start the game?"
Your reaction to the first classroom cutscene was the exact same as mine.
If you are wondering which version I'm on it's violet.
if i were to take a guess at the opening cutscene issues, it has something to do with animations slowing down with distance. if you get far away enough from characters, their animations get choppy. i feel like that’s the reason but i honestly don’t know
Edit: i don’t mean the actual opening cutscene, pointcrow refered to it as that. i’m talking about the first scene in school with all the students at the desks
@@LiliumOrientalis idk the glitches make more easier to enjoy lol

At first I read this as “Another day, another Pokémon abused.” XD
5:44 "WE'VE GOT A GARCHOMP, A TERA TYPE GARCHOMP!! You guys ready to start the game? :D"
actually the most entertaining playthrough of this game I've ever seen
I jumped into the crater after I beat it to see if it let's you in if you jump over, it does, so I was curious if you could just jump right in before you were supposed to. I never thought I'd get that question answered lmao you are truly the best
I love that Eric named his Fuecoco arson, since RTGame did the same thing with his Cyndaquil starter in his Heart Gold Nuzlocke
I wonder if Scarlet and Violet will get a "What Happened?" episode??
10:00 he really pulled a Dugtrio on the Dugtrio lol
What a wonderful and functional game
I agree, S tier gameplay
The absolute happiness in his voice followed by the horrified face at 20:20 was hilarious!
I think that was the most heart breaking story they ever did in Pokemon! Hats off to them, they did something right, amidst all the horrible glitching.
idk dude, the gengar episode in pokemon journeys was pretty stiff
I accidently did the glitch at 02:00 when I was doing my playthrough, didn't even know if it would be considered a glitch and I hadn't seen any gameplay as I wanted to play story-spoiler free. Its also how I got a level 25 pokemon with my level 18 starter and like lvl 10 other pokemon. (I was just catching and evolving as much as I could so I could get an early-ish lead on completing the dex.)
Me too
My favorite part was when he said “it’s glichin’ time!” And then he proceeded to glitch the entire game
That was the best part of this video
I love how even while he’s laughing at the fragile state of reality in Violet, Crow can’t help but get drawn into the story of Arven and Masbosstiff like everyone else. Truly a simple but effective storyline that touched everyone’s heart
2:00 I did not realize this was a sequence break lol, I did that by accident in my playthrough lmao
I kept reading it as “Tera-Sterilize” in my head too and was thinking of grass getting cleaned in alcohol. But like it’s a crystal. 😅🤣
man speedruns of this game are gonna be _wild_
Agree
"Be sure to keep it tucked safely inside a pokeball"

I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t experienced any of the crazy glitches, more like performance issues and things like that
Most people will only experience performance issues. You kinda gotta know about the glitches to see them. Kinda like Gen 1
I got the best of both worlds. Nothing that really hurt my enjoyment of my game and I get to see content creators experience it.
Same. Probably because most of the glitches are involved with multiplayer
people will always blow things out of proportion, thats one of the basic rules of the internet
This is shaping up to be one heck of a speedrun
I'm kinda surprised people didn't call Miraidon a Skyrim horse
I guess it's cause Skyrim horse memes are kinda dated?
@@PatManDX this is how you know someone hasn’t seen Sophist
@@Lumiesfinetoo this is how you know im confused and an inside joke is usually called that for a reason :)
I saw a few people compare it to the Skyrim horse

Ah yes, Arven's trusted partner, Masputtif
Currently watching this... at 6:00 can Confirm.... No Glitches at All Very Stable, Just like Morrowind
I cannot wait for PointCrow to accidently speedrun this game with this approach
Of all the video game content out there, glitch content is my favorite. Hopefully we get to see more of you exploring the glitches in Scarlet/Violet cause it's the best.
Keep up the good work man i love seeing you push games to their limits!
i mean in principle yeah but this game is basically pushed to its limit by existing
Do a challenge where every pokemon only knows metronome, it'll be really funny
“Maybe the real Titan was the friends we made along the way” 😂😂😂
The glitches aren’t the worst part of the game, it’s the fact that you can’t turn your camera around to your face to take a trainer photo. Still enjoyable though more so than I can say about Pokemon sword and shield
I love how then you play the game normally its pretty smooth, but actively try to break it and it snaps like a twig
When he made it to the zero gate If it would’ve actually let him through to the crater then speedruns of this game would’ve just been busted way open
20:25 I'm dead laughing at how he went from Happy to Straight face in an instant when the titan appeared.
I would just like to bring to people's attention what is happening with the frame rate:
More distant 3D models are being rendered dynamically at a slower rate to ensure that the players own movement is updated at a reasonable rate.
“We caught a terra type garchomp, I’m ready to start the game” 😂
22:20 say what you will about these game's quality, this scene fills my heart with joy everytime I see it.
did NO ONE realize that was a shiny orthworm- 9:45
It’s not shiny. U can see a faint red outline
10:06 in other regions you command your Pokémon, in paldea, YOUR POKÉMON COMMAND YOU!
1:42 Had the exact same happen in Scarlet, because I went for that item first as well 😂
From my point of view, heavily hyped games have a sort of "honeymoon phase" around release date where one sees it through rose tinted glasses.
9:58 thats how diglet usually attacks you but the roles are reversed LMAO
Okay, so to be honest here I actually opened this video in private because I was interested enough to want to watch it, but not to have youtube add it to my watch algorithm...
But your reactions made this video so great I rewatched it normally. You sir, earned a sub. Also I actually really want this game now.
I started hearing the Persona 5 music while you were trying to get into Area Zero early and I have flashbacks to the nightmare of a time I had in Okumura’s palace. Nice to see you’re having fun, I need it go lie down..
oh no not that palaceee. especially the boss fight (the 3 giant one)
By the time I fought the Titan, I'd totally forgotten that Arven had said that about crying that it's the Titan. That is great.
Can’t wait for speed runs of this game.
Speed runs of this game are going to be insane
Another good thing about this game is that I can see how many Shinies I've encountered. That way I can keep track of how many times I've been an oblivious idiot.
7:29 'When you lose, always do drugs guys.'
Wise PointCrow Tips 2022.
The most amusing glitches I had in Scarlet were:
In the big city, I saw half a shopping back magically float past me.
The wire, claymation like way people move.
Sometimes, when I battle, the camera clips and I have a Pokémon battle on the top half and an ocean on the bottom half.
When I put Koraidon a way while it’s running, I fly threw the air for a moment before standing up.
I love the Koraidon/Miraidon M64 Reference with the backwards long jump. Easter eggs are so much fun in nintendo games
The shiny orthworm out of bounds lmaoo
12:00
Life Will Change severely caught me off guard lmao
When I just started playing this(exactly 2 weeks ago) I thought the glitches made it crappy but now I know that the glitches make the game hilarious fun.
That's sad tho
I gotta admit, I really enjoyed the game.
They should have postponed it to make it actually optimized/playable, but I would say I was also pretty luck y and had only minor issues at worst.
This was probably mentioned but anyone else cry when they saw the shiny orthworm?
There was no shiny orthworm, that's just the underside of it. You can tell its not shiny because you can see a red hue around the edges and that the blue circles are the normal blue. Shiny Orthworm has dark blue circles.
Also that's the Titan, which is shiny locked.
You should make more of these, I bet they’ll be great!
"Be sure to keep it tucked safe inside a pokeball!"
Pointcrow: gotcha! YEET!
This is honestly one of the most well done fights I have seen, the camera work, the cgi, its all amazing
I’m surprised the legendaries aren’t bug type
Me: Yeah Bug types are pretty rad like Genes-!
Lmao you caught me
They all have it as their "hidden power" obviously 🤣
When properly lovingly abused.
Normal player: this is a fun game. Fps could be better but I'm enjoying it.
PointCrow: okay this game is broken, but HOW broken is it
starting the tutorial with a level 65 pokemon is the funniest thing to me
Looking at where the game is now, I'm glad I stuck with it. I never saw any of this in game and the worst thing was the framerate. SV is probably one of the best Pokemon games they have ever made.
11:23 the moment you eat too many bad beans
The speed runs are gonna be crazy
THE PERSONA MUSIC WHILE CLIMBING THE CRATER WAS SOOO HYPEEEE
He really Phantom Thief'd up that crater.
i once almost got stuck in a cave because there were to many pokemon out of bounds
even after seeing this and being warned multiple times about the glitches *i still need the game*
