    I watched another video of yours regarding this topic. Great info 😊. I do have a question. What do you mean they will "step in" if your child isn't progressing?

      As far as I know, they will suggest resources or even create one on one learning situations for your child if they aren’t progressing.

    Hi! We are in Southern California and I was just wondering what charter school you are talking about in this video? Any recommendations would be awesome :)
    Thanks for all the info :)

      Hi! I’m in Northern California, so the charter school I have had my kids enrolled in wouldn’t serve your area. :( My advice is to get recommendations from local homeschoolers or attend parent information meetings that charter schools host. They are very informational and can help you with your decision!

    So are you doing private homeschooling now?

    • @KidsLearningforLife
      @KidsLearningforLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, my kids are enrolled in a charter school, just so we can save some extra money every month. I do plan on homeschooling independently again sometime within the next couple of years.

      @@KidsLearningforLife That's awesome! Since it's a charter school, did you need to fill out a Private affidavit form or is that only needed for private homeschooling?

      In California, if your kids are enrolled in a charter school, you don’t need to fill out the PSA (Private School Affidavit), since it’s equivalent to being enrolled in a public school. But always check HSLDA.org for details!

      @@KidsLearningforLife So if it were a private online school, then they would? :) Okay, thanks for the info!

      I’m not sure about a private online school. You might want to ask the school directly. Hope this helps!

    Your experiences sound a lot like ours here in Washington.

      Oh how interesting! Do you have charter schools there?

      @@KidsLearningforLife They are called Parent Partnership Programs, but essentially, they sound the same. Each one is a bit different, but generally get free curriculum (non-religious), have to take at least 1 class a week, talk to a teacher, create a curriculum plan, monthly reporting. It still worth is for the free curriculum at this point, but if they stopped getting me enough of what I wanted... I would be gone :)

    Do you have an option to not go with a charter school? We're in Canada in British Columbia and we have similar thing called online school (not virtual) but almost to a T how you described the charter school. We decided to opt out and do our own thing but then zero funding.

    • @KidsLearningforLife
      @KidsLearningforLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we can also go independent if we want, here in California. There are few restrictions for being independent, but the biggest flaw is no funds, like you said!

    Hi, I was hoping you can offer your insight on this, we have our kindergartener in a Calif Charter homeschool program, their teacher is asking for me to fill out a survey asking if I want her to file her report card in her cumulative record or not file it, Thank you so much for your help

    • @KidsLearningforLife
      @KidsLearningforLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like your charter school offers report cards to families who want them. I don’t opt in to that, since I don’t find report cards to be helpful. But you may be interested in having one for your records, so it’s totally up to you! It’s not completely necessary. You can always direct questions about report cards to your teacher too!

      @@KidsLearningforLife Thank you so much for your reply. I guess the teacher will issue a report card regardless but the question she is asking me is if I want the report card to be recorded to the State in their cumulative record. I want to just opt out but in the future, if my child ends up going to public or private school I was concerned it could affect them with no State records for proper placement, transcripts etc... I wanted an outside opinion before I reached out to the teacher. It really seems like you know a lot and respected your opinion on it.

      I appreciate your trust! The most important thing to remember about being enrolled in a charter school is that they are still public schools.
