    So would a single subscription work for three children?

    • @KidsLearningforLife
      @KidsLearningforLife 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It all depends on you and your children. You could use one subscription for three children, but they would have to share while putting the projects together and then share the toy. Some of the projects have duplicate toys (like the coin spinner comes with two, so you can battle a friend, and the catapult comes with three so you can make a chain reaction), but most only have one final project. With my three boys, I am glad we were able to get them each their own subscription. But, as long as your kids are willing to share the boxes you could make it work with just one subscription.

    I have an EcoTank printer. I printed EVERYTHING for math 2 and math 3, both math boxes, Language Arts 2 (including the readers), and Language Arts 3 (including the spelling book and 1 reader), the free Marine Biology science unit with the TG and 2 student journals, and I used about 1/4 of my ink supply. I highly recommend the Epson EcoTank. I have the 3850. I went through 2 packs of paper. My total cost was around $40 for the little ink I used, paper, and some self laminating sheets I got. I would have spent over $300 for these things had I ordered them. I did order the readers for level 3 because I was not about to try to bind those. My printer was around $375. It did take about million hours to print it all though;/ I was just so tired of spend money on curriculum only to find that we really didn't like it. So, I thought printing would be worth it. I may just order it all in the future and save myself a whole lot of time.

      Unfortunately, we both live in Northern CA and don’t have direct experience with individual Southern CA schools and how good their IEP programs are. Hopefully others might be able to chime in, but we also recommend checking out local homeschool groups on Facebook. The parents in those groups would have better insight on specific schools in your area.

    • @KidsLearningforLife
      @KidsLearningforLife 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say it takes a bit to understand how all the pieces relate to each other, but once you understand the rhythm, it is really easy to implement. As you go, you will learn what parts work for you and what parts you might want to cut out. For example, I don’t usually do the “game” activities with my kids, we just read the practice sheets and call it good. I have heard from other families that their kids love the “game” activities, so they skip the practice sheets. There is a lot to the program, but you can weed out things that don’t work for your kiddo.

      I am not sure if @CrunchLabs has their instruction booklets in other languages or not or if they even ship outside of the US. The videos you unlock with each box are housed on TH-cam, so you could turn on captions and auto translate, but I don't know how well that feature works. I suggest you take a look at the Crunch Labs website and possibly even send your question to their support team.

    Can you print out a daily schedule/checklist for your student instead of having them log into homeschool planet?

    • @KidsLearningforLife
      @KidsLearningforLife 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I apologize for the late reply. I didn't know the answer to your question and wanted to look into it. I never even thought about printing it out, but I think it is a great idea! Yes, I did find a print feature so that you could print the daily/weekly/monthly schedule. Although, depending on how many activities/students you are trying to print off, it isn't the prettiest layout because sometimes content gets split between pages. But, you can adjust some of your print settings and adjust the look that way. I'll probably use the weekly print feature for my boys next year.

    I have a soon to be 5th grader who is a wonderful reader and possibly above his age, on the other hand I have a soon to be 3rd grader who does really well in most all subjects but is still not reading himself...I also have a new Kindergartner that may sit in with us and a toddler who I wont be doing much with. But i want to teach the 2 older ones together as much as possible, almost everything outside of math if possible. I want to follow the Ambleside Curriculum the best I can but I'm wondering if I should teach 5th grade hoping my 3rd grader follows or Im considering teaching 4th grade to try to meet in the middle. Any suggestions?

    • @KidsLearningforLife
      @KidsLearningforLife 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you could meet in the middle and be fine. You may also want to check out AO groups (www.amblesideonline.org/groups) that structures the curriculum slightly differently to cover more grade levels at the same time.

      1 being worst and 10 being best, for a monthly subscription box for kids, I’d rate it an 8.

      There are SO many great curriculums out there and a lot depends on you and your child’s learning/teaching styles and the subject you are looking for. For reading, Jenny and I have both used All About Reading. I have seen some families really like The Good and the Beautiful if you don’t mind a religious curriculum, they also have math that I have seen families enjoy. I have always used Singapore’s Primary Mathematics and been happy with it. These are just some curriculum we have used and liked, let us know if there is something specific you are looking for.

    I fall into “secular” curriculum, but a I use TGATB for ELA for my 4th and 5th grader (they both use the same level) . And they both like it . However , I don’t think it will continue to serve them much purpose this coming up year, so once they finish it this June, it will be the last time using it . We also love their science, and will continue to use it for some more units .
