Heck yeah!!! I was dealing with the dreaded won't charge cause the battery is too cold caused by a loose wireless charging coil. Used your guide to disassemble and reassemble and replaced the battery while i was in there. Now it charges without a problem thanks! AND I have a new battery all for less than 40 bucks. Insurance deductible was 200 and taking it to a shop would have been about $120! I feel like I made out like a bandit.
No, its actually incredibly easy, you dont actually have to heat it up just use a fine plectrum to get started and gently work around the back is quite flexible and forgiving once open its really easy to replace the battery each component is plug and play like in youre pc.

To secure the battery in place, did you use a new adhesive or what? For the back cover, the adhesive tape you are referring to, did you place a new one or used the existing adhesive tape or glue that was on it?

Dont believe the water resistance crap. my phone was not damage/never opened, after 1 yr using, water got in. and repairing costs me half the phone price. repair shop tells me, their ads exaggerate~ the ip68 rating is not permanent, at most maybe a few months. because of active usage. and they do not warranty water damage

I dont own this phone or know anyone with one. I was just looking to upgrade from a Note 4 but I dont like phones where the battery cant be removed. I don't trust devices that don't allow me full control to disable it at will. I'm sure its all in the name of "water resistance". I still like to replace the battery when I want. Its one of the reasons my Note 4 has lasted 4 or 5 yrs. I suspect when the Note 10 batts start to suck, people will end up paying their carrier a stupid price to put in a new batt, or worse, upgrade every two yrs on the dot cause well, that's what they want you to do. No money to be made from battery replacements. Anyway thanks for sharing, if I go with the Note 10, I will certainly be watching this video again in 2 yrs when my battery is crapped out.

I bought a Note 10+ on New Years day and after setting up the usual self inflicted bloatware, my batt drops around 40-50% during a 12hr waking walking working life style. My Note 4 sits on a desk unused since Jan 1st and currently has 59% batt life left as of 9:42pm EST Jan 11th which I find crazy. Just goes to show if you only use a phone for calls and SMS txt, it can last at least 1 week. But I am seriously happy I upgraded to this stupid 10+ cause my productivity is through the roof compared to the 4. I can actually multitask and not wait for the o/s, processor, ram etc to keep up.
Yeah agree on the battery and speed, what i also note is my 10 mast have some weird weight balance cause i have never had any phone falling out of my hand as much as this one.
Sorry to tell you, but you'll be watching this video 6 months after purchase at most. You might get a notification telling you the temperature is too low to charge.

But unfotunatley when I was removing the battery I damaged my screen, so now I see 2 little RGB spots. My own dumb fault because I used a screw driver because I couldn't get the battery out with the plastic tools I had.
Excellent video. Pryor to changing the battery, any words of advice on dealing with a tiny diagonal crack that has chipped the lower left corner. About 3/16 - 1/4 inch from the tip of the corner. The glass in this crack in some places has fragmented and fallen out so I've added a thin coat of JB clear epoxy to cover the tiny pit/crack. Note: if u were to place your thumb on the tip of the left corner with your nail being 1/4 from the corner tip at 45 degrees, that's the area involved with several tiny cracks. Note: none of the cracks run into the screen as all are contained within this 45 degree area "chip" (Evidently a corner drop without a case ) before I bought it used. Many thanks 😊
I noticed after an hour or two my battery drains down to around 80%-75% within 15mins of my morning commute to school. I'm one that doesn't like apps running in the background because I want the best performance and battery life, so I feel now the battery is truly showing its usage and age. But this doesn't go without saying that I feel it lasted longer with the same usage before having to do our last "BIG" update...

I have seen other video that use contact cleaner or alcohol (not sure of rubber I ng type or isopropyl or same) to remove alcohol. Apply very little and let sit a little bit and then try to rub off away the glue with the plastic pick to loosen glue and remove. Heat is suggested but perhaps 9n these older phones they will become unglued due to age and remove with lesser effort.
I also have the Note 4 in excellent condition, with good batteries, and used to think like you. But I recently jumped to the Note 10+. Granted, the Note 4 removable battery is very convenient, and I love the Note 4 flat screen, its size and ruggedness with my Spigen Tough Armor case. But the Note 10+ is in a totally different league, it's WAY faster than the Note 4, has a huge amount of RAM (12GB = four times the RAM of the Note 4, and much faster RAM) that cannot be bogged down, it has more RAM than some laptops and even desktop computers. Plus the energy efficiency on the Note 10+ is insanely better. Also the software is hugely better in the Note 10+, the phone is unbelievably fast. There is this battery inconvenient every 2 or 3 years, but I think it's worth the hassle. Of course it'd be even better if the Note 10+ also had a removable battery, but it is what it is, in the end you'll experience much higher productivity with the Note 10+, you might not need it but the Note 10+ delivers a completely different experience.
unfortunatelly i can't stick to my note4 since i dropped it badly and the screen doesn't work anymore. I am upgrading to the note 10, hopefully it can be with me for the next 3 years.
@ Ansh - to your point we have a Note 4 and one time the battery malfunctioned, overheated and quickly had a melt-down. The battery started changing shape and appeared it was about to blow up. We were able to pop the back cover off, remove the bad battery and fixed the phone with a new battery. Didn't lose any info but with a Note 10 it would have been game-over. The problem with the Note 4 is the OS is so outdated we didn't have very many apps that would work for us. Miss using our Note 4 !
I have a note 4 too, but can't keep using it because it can't handle playing more than a few youtube videos before it locks up, and bluetooth has been getting so bad. Sometimes both are so bad that it needs to be rebooted. So it'll get replaced, but I'd like to try swapping the motherboard.

Not really, but be careful doing it. Dont heat the screen. I just did this and it worked for me, but if you heat the screen it kills pixels. Just happened to me

I wish you would have attempted to power the phone up via USB C WITHOUT the battery. I use this phone permanently in a dock via dex mode. Being that I’ve had several Samsung battery’s bloat and tear cell phones in half, I’m not comfortable with the battery charge state being 100% all the time.
Well if you look in the video, you see how the note 10 battery has no excess room where it is sitting. The note 10+ battery is a physically larger battery. So based on what you see, would it fit?

Thats what I was afraid of. I watched til the end to see if he was going to put adhesive back on the phone to ensure its water resistance.
So no testers on any of the terminals to make sure everything is reconnected and working properly before slapping the back cover and it's adhesive??

As long as you use samsung oem factory glue it dhould be the same but your warranty will be void.

I wish you would have attempted to power the phone up via USB C WITHOUT the battery. I use this phone permanently in a dock via dex mode. Being that I’ve had several Samsung battery’s bloat and tear cell phones in half, I’m not comfortable with the battery charge state being 100% all the time.
Agreed. You can adjust the battery charge setting to 85% max on the Samsung

Thats true, thats why you better bring it to samsung's authorized centers, they do reseal it and change battery for 120 bucks.

Well if you look in the video, you see how the note 10 battery has no excess room where it is sitting. The note 10+ battery is a physically larger battery. So based on what you see, would it fit?
