The wife and I both going through cancer, so living without care, living in the moment has a huge meaning to me, I find myself singing this song in doctors offices, during scans and chemo, like a mantra. Thanks John.

I was listening to this song today and put my arms out and just started swaying, and it made me feel so much better. This song just makes you feel free. The songs artists release these days just lack that quality in their music. There’s no depth, & it’s all meaningless.

This is the man and the song that turned me on to music so many years ago. He was so full of life and his songs were so inspirational. I sure miss him.
When we were on vacations to Mesa Verde National Park in 1975, my father would always have this 8-track in the car stereo. I must confess, it was haunting. Here's another star who died too soon. We miss you, Johnny!

I listened to John Denver's music allot while I was in the hospital this past April LITERALLY fighting for my life after suffering from an attack of bacterial cholangitis . His music was one of the few things that kept me calm enough during my dialysis treatments. If only he were still here today.
Truly, a chance to have heard him sing would've been a dream come true. I happen to think John Denver (based on these recordings of course,) sounded better live than in the studio.
John was truly one of the best musical performers that I was able to see on stage from Southern California, Northern California, Spokane Washington. I have almost all of his recording's. RIP. John, God Bless you sir.

I bought the 5 dvd set,and I love it but this song and 4 more was not on my set so I found it at amazon U.K. that plays every where,And the 5 dvds I have had 20 songs cut! Memories of being on the road with our five young children in our 1975 Ford 3/4 Ton Super cab with our 10'2" Cameo Cab-over singing along to the tapes of John Denver. I sill do and the children take trips with their children and; you guessed it sing along with John. Music lives as long as we remember and sing along.

You're incorrect. Sweet Surrender was written by John. Perhaps Euson wrote another song with the same title. For example, David Gates, formerly of Bread also wrote a song with that same title.

tried to play this beautiful song 'sweet surrender by John D. on the Ukulele but it sounded just awful. Would like to try picking it on the Ukulele but haven't been able to find it on line.
