I binned it. Luv the vans but the 4M40 is a brick with cooling issues. The 1UZ VVTi is a bullet proof engine. I've done over 30,000kn's since the conversion and it's all been trouble free. And as you can see it doesn't get treated like a princess. Theres some hard km's on the van. 🙂
@@shakynz1 totally understand bro. Here in the Caribbean where I live i have pajeros with 4m40s and I just wish I can see someone build it. No one here does awesome conversions like you guys and well its because of how expensive everything is.
@@mrmr6563 The 4M40 diesels are far from bomb proof. They're prone to cracking heads as the older the vans get the cooling systems fail. I bought this van with a already broken motor and did the swap because it's something I wanted to do for a while. The Toyota V8 'IS" a bullet proof engine. I have the van I like(Delica L400) without all the issues that come with a ageing diesel and a ton more power when I want it. Win win as far as I'm concerned.
@@shakynz1 it certainly is very nice, and you’re right about the 4M40, the only thing I’d say is the 4M40 cooling issues are easy and cheap to fix…new radiator, water pump, viscous fan, alloy expansion tank and thermostat cost me $750 and the thermocouple I fitted to the thermostat housing shows 76c temp in a 42c summer day, never been above 79c going in Alpine areas. Of course it’s a lot slower than yours is, but it’s cheap to fix and I’ve done over 400,000 km…keep it cool and put in good oil. That’s it.
Sweet vid!
I've heard the 1uz/3uz is pretty much a bolt on into these things, that true?
Yeah i believe it is a known conversion with a bit of info online on how to get it done.
I’m thinking of the 3uz-fe in mine after my v6 dies
I think you have the 1uz-fe
I got quoted $24k fitted here in Australia
👌🏻
Might be an ls1?
😉
V8? What did it come out of??
It's a Toyota 1UZ VVTI.
Could you put a 1UZ inside a 4th gen Pajero ?
That’s a very good question…
@@chillybinadventures Please do it, you will do millions of views !!!
What year delica? Cheers
It's a 96.
So the Delica passed the deep water part like the Nissan?
It may have skipped that part haha
Thank you for being honest

The diesel is way better a lot more punching power and lower fuel costs
Am I hearing 3UZ Toyota engine from Deli?

That coud'nt be wrong the way it sounds, that's the petrol version 4G62 L400 Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear

What tyres do you have on her?

What happened to the 4m40?

These old engines are bomb proof! I can’t believe he binned it. Oil changes are all these need to do a million miles

Anyone using manual transmission?
Yes, some people like manual vehicles but most are turning to auto for their easiness
1UZ?
Sure is! 😁
