- The original White O’Morn cottage, currently lies in ruin and has been deteriorating for a number of years.

I was there today and I've been there many times before I go almost every year but Everytime you go to see it you just sad looking at it

Looks from this aerial view as though a lot of stone could be missing. The rubble around the house footprint looks light by comparison to what should be there. I hope I am wrong and I also hope the errant owner can be forced to sell the property to some one who cares to see it restored,
Why did they ever let that become a ruin with all the interest 'The Quiet Man' generates!!!

Great aerial footage. Thanks for posting it. Seeing how much stone has been taken by souvenir hunters or has simply fallen is shocking. Even the stone wall as you approach the cottage is rubble.
I was checking in to see how the reported plans for restoration, circa 2011 then 2014, had come along. It's unfortunate the owner allowed this to happen. Is it still an American, I believe from California, who owns the property? It's baffling someone would leave it like this despite all the reports of intentions to restore it. It's a place every fan of the movie holds in their minds just as it was.

Just happened to watch this movie and so taken with the landscapes and the White O'Morn, I have put it in my "to do" list to visit, thank you so much for posting what a beautiful place made me quite emotional xx

Whose house is next to White O'Morn's ruins? How long has that house been there?
The original cottage does not exist, it is now just two basic ends, the walls and roof long gone, so if they tell you oh look this is it, well it is not.

Out of curiosity, what is written on the (gate?) sign at the end?
From what I can make out it says PLEASE REBUILD that's about all I can read
The sign reads "Please rebuild house" with a little heart in the corner.
Pity there was no music, shame to see it like.😕
