    The first thing I would like to say is your video was excellent explaining the installation process. My question is will one garage door opener work for two separate garage doors, entering to different codes on the two doors?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you Jeff. I appreciate the positive feedback. 🙏Unfortunately the keypad only controls one garage at this time. I say at this time because I’m sure Chamberlain Group will probably come out with one that does operate multiple doors. Hope that helps and again thanks for watching 😁

    I would've loved to see what the video looks like once installed.

    Can this cam keypad device b hardwired hopefully? It’s so I would not have to charge the battery.

      This model only has a battery option

    Good video....maybe I'm jumping ahead (as I haven't finished your video), but at what point do you remove the old keypad? Or do you remove it at all?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don’t need the old keypad once you mount this one. ☝️ this has all the features the old keypad has and more. I appreciate your feedback.

    I bought 2 of these for my 3 car garage. The wifi receiver is too weak to work through the garage door even though my extender is like 12 feet away. My Arlo camera and 3 smart wifi bulbs work fine outside my garage with strong signals. The Myq keypad indicates the signal is fair and can cause battery not to last long. The battery lasts 2 weeks even at lowest motion detection setting. And the live feed does not work. These are going back to Amazon.

      Wow definitely agree to send them back. I haven’t had this issue before and I install them often but I’ll repost here if I start seeing this becoming a trend. Thanks for sharing.

    Do you see any issues with installing this on aluminum siding/aluminum garage door frame? Just using the supplied screws. If no issues, should I have pilot holes with a small bit or would these self tap into aluminum? (if aluminum can be installed into)

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can install it on aluminum framing but they won’t self tap, you will need to use a small bit to create that entry for the supplied screws. I’ve done it before and it secures just fine.

      I used a 5 / 32 Milwaukee hex hammer drill bit. Thank you for the feedback I appreciate it🙏

    hi...is it weatherproof? can it withstand getting exposed to the elements, rain and desert heat (110+ in summers)? Thanks!

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is water resistant and can operate with temperatures up to 122 degrees F 🔥. I’m in Florida and I have one on my house and it rains all the time on the keypad and haven’t had any issues at all. Hope that helps. Thank you 🙏

    Hi great video 😊, I wanted to know.. I know I need the My Q app, would I need access to my learn button in the back of my Garage base, bc it cemented in, I don’t have access to it. But would I need it? Or just the keypad, wifi and password and that is it. Please let know before I order one. Thanks 😊

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello ,
      I’ve programmed a few of these keypads on jobs and never had to use the learn button. The keypads sync to the unit when your logged into your account. Hope that helps 🙌

    Is the mount you used, which appears to be angled, included, or extra cost?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not extra , it’s included in the box. 🙌😊

    My setup went smoothly, exactly as you depicted. PROBLEM with two-way communication: I can see &hear just fine on my phone app but the keypad's speaker is so extremely quiet, it's barely audible. I can't find a volume control. Any suggestions??

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe the app itself has settings where you can adjust the volume on both system. It may also be a bad device because my system is loud and clear when it plays back. You can also contact chamberlain support just in case so it’s under warranty. 1800-528-5880

    Hi, how long does the battery last till it needs recharging?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY

      Mine lasted 3 months on low sensitivity

    How long does the battery last in cold weather ?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I’ve installed some in Colorado and haven’t heard any negative feedback about the battery… I honestly don’t know that answer but mine lasts about 3 months and that’s in the hot Florida heat.

    It would be great if this battery/device can be operated by solar panel! is the extra battery cheap? :) I would pick extra battery just in case!

      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, absolutely would be convenient for sure! I think batteries run about $30 ish online.

    Great video! Question: do you need to pay for a Smart Keypad subscription? You only need the Smart Keypad, not another Hub or device, right?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t need another hub. As long as you have the MyQ app already installed and running, you just simply add the device to your account.
      If you want to have a recorded history of events it captures then yes it does require a subscription after the free 30 day trial. The best offer it has is 7 days of recordings for $3.99 a month. That’s plenty of video if needed. They do have a 30 day recording option for I think $9.99 a month.
      Hope that helps answer your question. Thank you for watching and I appreciate your feedback. If you have more questions and concerns, you can also reach me directly at garagemanteddy@gmail.com for faster response. Thanks 🙏

      @@GARAGEMANTEDDY thanks for taking the time to reply my comment. If you don't mind asking another question, how is the battery life?

  • @chuckabbate1264

    You didn’t cover battery. Life or recharging process….

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea I didn’t , it’s about 3 months until it needs to be charged. You have to unscrew the bottom security screw and take the unit off the wall to recharge it completely.

  • @youte443

    Can you turn off the camera to make the battery last longer?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It only allows you to turn the sensitivity down to lower the battery usage. I put mine on the lowest setting and got about 3 months of power from it before I needed to recharge it.

    This really didn't help because I need to connect this to my garage door opener. As of right now it's a brick camera. That's all it can do. It will not connect to my genie garage door

    Does anyone know the camera detection sound ?

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The camera doesn’t notify you of sounds it detects if that’s what you’re asking. It will notify you of motion detected and will play audio at that time.

    please correct your video or take it down. Wasted my time with your suggestion for drill bit size was too small for wall anchors and even the instructions state a size bigger. You didn’t show putting in wall anchors in your video either. Change the drill size bit to the size stated in the MyQ instructions in your description and edit your video with text stating the correct size. Couldn’t get them in even with a hammer with your suggested size drill bit.

    • @GARAGEMANTEDDY
      @GARAGEMANTEDDY  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      😂 you clearly don’t know how to install wall anchors if you need a full video of me installing them. A little wiggle of the bit and it expands the hole if needed 😎That’s the easiest part of the install. I’ve had grandmas install it off my video and had no issues. You wasted more time complaining for nothing because I’m not changing the video for a user error.

    The wall bracket is a joke. The security screw can be removed by a thief or juvenile delinquent and just steel this keypad device! I would not buy this product unless a more deterrent method could be designed…

      😂 I’ve never heard of a keypad being stolen but at this point it wouldn’t surprise me.
