- Most guys have their wardrobe all set for the colder months of the year with heavy selvedge denim and leather boots, but the choices for summer denim are usually pretty limited. Most brands carry far less summer weight denim than their heavier counterparts, but never fear- Naked and Famous is here! Finding cool jeans for hot weather just got a little easier with the Canadian brand Naked and Famous Brown Fox Selvedge denim. Available in a bunch of fits for both men and women, these will easily be your favorite pair of denim for the summer. They're nice and light at 10.5oz, but also dark with a fantastic brown weft, keeping that vintage denim look.

Reviews of clothing, boots, and accessories for men, along with style advice and life philosophy. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well, and allows you to buy less and buy better. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
That pause and the delivery on stay in school kids was perfect.
Yeah, I wasn't sure where that story was going, but that's a good takeaway.
Lol! Thank you
@@CarlMurawski You’re welcome
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Carl, great video as always! Keep up the excellent work!
Always!
They are a really good brand that keeps a denim enthusiast interested. Beyond the fun, unorthodox or even mad scientist projects, Ithe snobs and traditionalists are offered MANY core options with weight, unsanforized, real indigo, etc. They have great options well beyond entry level and unique gimmicks.
Absolutely true!
Started with their left hand twill in weird guy about 4 years ago. Even though I’ve purchased a few more pairs of higher end Japanese brands, I still love wearing them. Great fades too.
Same here, they're not absurdly priced but still very, very nice.
Hey, love Naked and Famous jeans, they experiment with fabric and it's always been a great experience wearing their jeans.
Totally!
Haha I just got the summer sky selvedge! Maybe I should get these too but I keep thinking I should be getting weirder Japanese brands. But Naked & Famous is so much easier to buy!
Those sky blue jeans are fantastic man, they feel more like lightweight chinos than anything else!
@@CarlMurawski I saw these brown fox ones in the store but I didn't realize they were so light. If I were in NYC right now I'd run and buy them probably lol I'm so easily influenced
Excellent find!
I think so too!
Other good entry level selvage brands are Gustin, Brave Star, or Left Field. Gustin will often run lighter weight denim during the summer but they are crowd funded so you may have to wait awhile to get a pair.
They made a milk denim too. I'm not a denim guy, but even I can appreciate the creativity.
Yes! I saw those!
Also the cashmere denim!
@@CarlMurawski That sounds so wild. I love it.
I've just bought some Benzak Denim Developers 8oz denim and linen mix chinos. The fabric is made by Candiani and they're ideal for summer. They're even selvedge for those who want turn ups and to show off the selvedge detail. They were €147.93 or £127.45 so fairly reasonably priced.
Very cool!
Thanks brother. I’m definitely gonna check this guys out. I was gonna pull the trigger on a pair of $300 selvedge but it’s nice to have an entry option just in case I’m not sold on the investment.
I'm in the North East. It gets really humid in July and August so I wear mostly golf pants. Puma 5 pocket golf pants are my favorite.
True story man, and its that humidity which really gets uncomfortable.
Naked and Famous also make one of the most affordable loop-wheeled t-shirts. 30% less expensive than most competitors making loop-wheel knit products and far superior in quality. Great brand!
Damn, I've gotta get one of those!
I do love those 3Sixteens for summer wear. Might have to check out these Fox Fiber ones though
If you’re like me, too many jeans is a common problem!
The first five or six pairs you tell yourself and your girl “oh yeah this is an investment, I NEED this.” After the 12th pair you just have to admit you have an addiction
Great video Carl. Can really tell that you think about what you are going to say vs some of the guys that seem to ramble. Just picked up my first high end selvedge (3Sixteens changed the game for me and made me want to try top end) the Strike Gold 2109s. They also have a brown weft. Not arrived yet and was getting a bit nervous about the colour but seeing yours, I think brown weft has a really cool retro look and looks awesome with boots.
I appreciate that! I definitely try to be concise and respectful of the viewers time while not being too cold. Hopefully I've struck a decent balance!
I absolutely love N&F. So weird and easy to be a nerd about. They have enough normal jeans for entry level, enough elevated styles for people still falling into the rabbit hole, and plenty of that weird shit!
Absolutely agreed!
Looking for quick advice on some new boots... should I condition them fresh out of the box or wear them for a while first?
I got the summer sky for the summer should've done the inseam 26-28 idk 30 is too long forgot about vanity sizing for legs
I'm so lucky to have a store near me that stocks them so I can try these on in store. Been looking for some lighter weight pants.
Perfect! I have to go to NYC to try them.
*Railcar* has a 11 oz. stretch non-selvedge pant for $130. Made in California. I really like their mid-rise cut.
Railcar is badass, and I love their chore coat.
You should consider Iron Heart jeans .Their denim are definitely out of this world !
I just got their denim shirt but I have yet to get their jeans. I heard their 21oz is amazing.
Naked and famous is my favorite Jean company. But the fit is definitely hard to nail down. Thankfully there returns have always been rock solid so I can figure my size perfectly
No refunds is not rock solid
I was thinking about picking up the 9 oz Boarder pant from RGT. It’s a drawstring denim pant so a little different but maybe still a good summer option. My only hang up is the $200 price.
I hear ya man.. definitely not cheap.
What made you go with the easy guy fit just out of curiosity and what’s the difference between the brown fox and the dirty fade denim? Great review btw!
Check into Delta Blues Oxford, MS!!
Gustin has a 6oz featherweight. That's crazy light!
Wow! Talk about summer denim!
Man I have been trying to get my first pair of selvedge denim but I am terrified of dye bleeding all over the place. Also I saw naked and famous has selvedge chinos, but they look like jeans to me, is there a big difference between selvedge chinos and selvedge jeans ? Great video as always Carl!
It's not that bad, just don't wear white for the first few wears
Chino is just the style of pants, which is slit pockets and usually a flat front style.
Thanks brother!
Any one have suggestions for something other than Dickies for a non-denim work pant?
miss these vids
More coming! I have one on the Tanuki red cast jacket in the works and one on Momotaro as well.
@@CarlMurawski awesome carl, by the way what do you think of the chuck 70s
Michael Malice's favorite jeans
Will carhartt workjeans develop fades over time? Or does that only happen to these more expensive jeans? I´ve got the single knee carpenters jeans
Any blue jeans will fade somewhat, but its all in the way the yarns are dyed. Carhartts will fade a bit, but not nearly as much as brands like Naked and Famous since theyre really meant to work in and last a long time. With enough time anything will fade though!
You're right but here in California almost impossible to get! Too bad for naked and famous, it's their loss.
Damn... Does Standard and Strange carry them? I think they're in California.
Or you could order online
Carl, did you know that Naked and Famous is actually the mother brand of Unbranded? Also I had a pair of 12OZ cone denim jeans from bravestar that was just amazing, all of their jeans are limited runs tho.
I didnt know that! See? The comments are where the real knowledge is at.
Hello from Germany
Hello there! Greetings from the states!
Filson mackinaw wool pants are we ever getting a video 🎥
I want some of those in the worst way. Probably a better video for December though.
@@CarlMurawski sounds great cant wait
Of course they are adventurous, the have a naked lady for their logo
Lol! That IS a bold choice!
Anddd they're sold out of my size
Damn it! Check James Dant, I think they got a bunch of these.
So it’s better than Japanese demon I feel bad
It is Japanese denim. The Jean's are just made in Canada though .
Why are they so damn expensive 😩. But, they are nice for sure.
Well I think its due to a number of reasons but mostly because theyre like any small batch maker, and overhead is much higher with lower numbers.
Because it's high quality denim with fabrics from Japan
40oz denim! Are they f*cking crazy?
Right???
Where are the 38 inseam jeans at? lmao
Lol! I think theyre all 34?
If man can not handle 15oz denim during heat, it’s not a man 🤷🏻♂️
