The Most Comfortable Pants I've Ever Worn

  • It was a while back when I covered the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn. They were a model with some stretch and sadly, they're now out of business. So I haven't really ventured back into stretch denim until now with Kato Brand. These offer a hack of a lot more than my previous denim though: Made in USA, Japanese fabric, 360 degree stretch, and simple good looks. Whats not to love about that?? It was the chinos which really stole the show however. Thick, soft, super stretchy, they are the most comfortable pants I've ever worn without a doubt... BUT they look amazing too!

Reviews of clothing, boots, and accessories for men, along with style advice and life philosophy. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well, and allows you to buy less and buy better.

Also, as a guy to runs a 95% made in the US clothing brand and touches every piece before it goes out, I will say that Made in US clothing is priced at the actual value of the goods, I always try to remind people that “cheap imports” are not any less expensive to produce, it’s just the butt in the sewing machine seat is getting screwed out of their share.

Great review. These jeans/chinos are a non starter for me if they are not offered in a 36" or 38" inseam. For some strange reason I cannot fathom, many clothing manufacturers think all people have a 34" inseam. Not this guy. My preferred jean: Wrangler 20X or Schaefer Ranch Hand jeans. Duluth Trading Post or Carhartt pants. Good quality, priced right and offered in 36" and 38" inseams.

Hi. I'm a relatively recent subscriber, and this seems to be the video to make my first comment on.
I really enjoy your videos, and you're one of the few TH-camrs whom I've found who seems to be in my style range. I guess I'm somewhere in that Americana, Heritage, Workwear, Western arena, and whatever else may cross over in there. My problems are two-fold, though. First, I'm an expat living in Asia, so it's really expensive for me to order items from overseas (I do realize your viewership is mostly US-based). Second, as touched on in this video, I notice your products either seem to be geared towards actual manual-labor use (fair point for you, but that's not me) or people with money to burn (also not me). I've seen a few of your comparison videos (your T-shirt one comes to mind) where almost all of the items were well out of my price range.
Would it be possible to include within your range something that would be in the middle of the road in terms of price? Something where quality--in terms of natural materials and good construction--is there, which has a bit more emphasis on comfort and style, which may be available to an international customer base, but which isn't at such an extreme price point. It doesn't have to be something that takes away from the primary focus of your channel of quality workwear and high-end workwear-inspired fashion, but something in the middle. It's okay for it to be a bit of an afterthought, but it would help out us average guys a bit who are just interested in buying long-lasting casual clothes on a modest budget. Thanks!

    • @CarlMurawski
      @CarlMurawski  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Its a fair point, and if I were starting from scratch on a budget I'd probably concentrate on second hand items. You can really find a lot of great things cheap on ebay and grailed without compromising quality.

Getting into the more minimalist, quality vs quantity thing, I still find it a bit ridiculous to spend $200 on a pair of jeans. I get it will last 5-10+ years but another thing is the way you take care of most typical selvedge or raw denim jeans. I typically wash my jeans after a day a wear but probably only wear them once in a week. So, for me, I'm kind of in the middle of wanting something that will last longer but don't want the added care of raw selvedge denim. I'ld be willing to go $125 on jeans that will last if I can wash them regularly 😂😂

How is the sizing? I am usually a 35 standard… but also can teeter between sizes… but 35 is usually great. How much will these expand? With the stretch, is the 34 good with the level order stretch? I don’t want to get the the 35 and then they stretch out to a 36+.
I wish all clothing reviewers would just staple their measurements in every video. I don’t know why no one does this.

I would stick with your original size. I just bought a 34 and they are not getting any larger. They are very comfortable. Its like Carl said, stretch has gotten a lot better. They stretch but not to the point where they change sizes. I use to have a pair of 7's that I would need to wash to return them to their original size.
By far the most comfortable fitting jeans I've ever owned.

I side w/ the clothing snobbery. I'm in my early 40s and I am done buying cheap ass jeans/shirts only to have to dump'm 1-2 years later cuz they either broke or never really fit right to begin with and I just settled on buying them. I think you do a good job at showcasing medium $$$, to high $$$ category clothing. Stick with exactly what your doing.

Oh man $200 jeans I never knew those exited. I was super stoked when I discovered $10 pants from Walmart ( my old job I used chlorine a lot and it wrecks pants ) then just recently I was told by someone to get clothes from the Salvation Army and I thought that was amazing idea especially for work pants where they will just get destroyed in 1-2 years and I got two jeans for like $3 not gonna lie my super cheap side same out on that one and I had a smile on my face the rest of the day lol

Have you ever tried Prana Brion pants? Those are my favorite pants of all time. No cotton so they dry fast. Stretchy slim fit with a more straight fit bottom so they look great with boots. They are a 5 pocket style...not jeans but in a dungaree style. For me the best pants i own. Granted I've never tried a 200+ dollar pair of jeans.

I, personally, feel like you do a good job of trying to find a decent middle ground between affordable and craftmanship. I thought $75 was a lot for a pair of jeans. Until I bought a pair of Bravestarr Selvedage Raw denim. Made in the US and super comfortable AND will become more and more unique to me the longer I wear them. $75 is a steal for them. I advise anyone questioning the price to save up the money and buy 1 pair. You’ll make the $75 back before you know it and you’ll see just how nice it can be. Also, hunt thrift, vintage, and goodwills. You’ll be surprised what you’ll find.

I got three and a half years out of the Dickies pants that I buy, and they cost $24. When you mentioned the pants becoming unique to you, I imagine you are talking about the ultra-rapid fading and wearing that is inherent to cotton?
Eventually that will wear though, faster than if it were a polyester blend.
Do you think it will take over ten years so that I get my money's worth?

I would understand buying a pair of $200 jeans as an electrician or carpenter or just someone who likes quality. Cause your not working with hot materials and massive pinch points, but as a welder I can't imagine buying a pair of $200 pair of pants and burning holes in them all the time, but I do buy carhartt stuff witch I find is a middle ground, it's not $200 so I'm not super worried about it and it's not $30 so I'm getting quality
