Always thank you to Great Britain and the British people for giving the rest of the World hundreds of unforgettable bands and music of unparalleled beauty.
I truly Love Lloyd Cole And The Commotions music, been lucky once to have met Lloyd Cole in Brighton. As Of Aug 2024 all members are still alive. I wish they toured together all the original members.
Brilliant song by an artist whose talent with the English language & music combined make for a simply sublime experience,we need more people like Lloyd Cole in this world !!!
"And she's sexually enlightened by cosmopolitan" is one of the greatest lyrics of all time. I've let it run through my mind many times over the years when I met a girl who was...well.
Music was so much better back then. I mean seriously today's music; tuneless, soulless, emotionless, generic, repetitive, predictable, depressingly bad.
The album with the empty swimming pool is the CD I have. I just can't believe Lloyd Cole & The Commotion don't have any air time on any of the classics radio stations these days, I guess great taste went out of style these past 15 years!!
Fantastic song and wonderful 80s sound. Lloyd's voice and clever lyrics complement the catchy and crisp guitar sounds perfectly. Their breakthrough hit ; deserved to chart a lot higher than Number 26 in the UK. I love 'Lost Weekend' too.
✨ I'm really thinking and believing that's the Best First Album in the Music History ... I mean in all kinds : Rock, Jazz, Blues ... That's a Miracle ... perfect ... just perfect ! How can it be ? This Album sounds like a Revelation ... All is perfect ... forever ... Bravooo Maestro Lloyd Cole, With admiration Salim from France ✨
This album tuned my ears into proper music, the 80s was so diverse so I could of easily missed it. But thankfully I heard rattlesnakes and I had to get the album. Which by the way for me had a full albums of no 1s. Forest fire and 2cc being may favourites. This vinyl was on continuous play on my little deca 45. Then I got big country vinyl which was equally amazing then I got sledge hammer roughly all about the same time, and still I can't split them
This song is integral to my appreciation of music! As a teenager stuck in a rural town... I was incredibly lucky to have grown up with songs that challenge you... Smokin' 🔥
Just ordered a rattlesnakes re-release from a local Glasgow record store. Catching up with some of my past vinyl collection. Great music like this filtered through the two-tone/talking heads vibe I was on at the time.
They made great music and were so much of the eighties takes me back to great times and when everything didn’t hurt when I wake up in the morning like it does now
Esos pantalones blancos con ese “sweater” negro, esa piel pálida y esa música irreemplazable. Todo aquello me volvía loco. Cómo amé a Lloyd Cole y como extraño los 80. .
I feel honoured to have been in my teens when this was out , also feel sad that in what seems like a blink of an eye a big chunk of life has gone 😢
I know the feeling.
Always painful, a lament to youth gone!

Why O Why can we not produce bands as talented as these anymore. I blame television
I was a fan of Lloyd Cole from the moment I heard this in 1984 as an 11 year old

Confession: I might have teared up with joy when Lloyd performed this a couple of weeks ago in Paris...
Which means you have great musical taste, and a soul.
Still brilliant and fresh after all these years, I'm transported back to great times.
rattlesnakes, the album, is a masterpiece.
"And she's sexually enlightened by cosmopolitan" is one of the greatest lyrics of all time. I've let it run through my mind many times over the years when I met a girl who was...well.
I love the "cheekbones like Geometry" line.
Always incredible lyrics
yeah it really is
One of the best songs of the 80's.
Music was so much better back then. I mean seriously today's music; tuneless, soulless, emotionless, generic, repetitive, predictable, depressingly bad.
so serious video
A typical 80's song-timeless and brilliant.
Teaching myself Macromedia Flash with this on! Class xx

Rattle snakes one of my favourite albums ❤
Wow - us alternatives loved Lloyd Cole in the early 80s - a lot of mix tapes floating around lol. Also, another band called Blue Nile I believe.

Great artist for sure 😊
Fabulous voice such a cool band x
Superb. Still sounds fresh.👌
I was 17 and in France for summer holiday. This came out and was just magical.
A perfect and intelligent pop song....
so true a real class act to say the lest
That guitar riff mid song 🎵 class rattlesnakes amazing album
After listening to this, you realise that he has a brightness. He has an intelligence of a certain kind.
I was just thinking 'Aah, another aspergers musician', I could be wrong, but it'd explain the intelligence, & why he feels likeable..
Define " intelligence of a certain kind " ?
I ve met him when I was workind at EMI. Very bright.
He built a website apparently.
@@patriciaactis Had the pleasure of meeting him at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny.
Fell in love with a girl named Louise in 1985. She had perfect skin. She *was* this song.
Perfect band!.
I remember when this song came out, time is such a cruel thief
I love that one note solo. It's up there with 'I can see for miles'.
Missed this the first time around. Discovered it around 2007 on a friend's iPod (remember those?). Oh, that jangle!
I forgot about this band and I forgot how good they were and they bring back great memories
Classic!!!
Always a fan. Perfec5 songs. The guitarist must be a genius together with Loyd. All of them
Tempus fugit - but those youth sounds stays with us until we die or dement in oblivion. But the songs, our songs will never die.
If you fancy a change..hey rusty...worth a listen...rip Adam

I used to have Lloyd Cole posters in my teenage bedroom...he was very cute! 😎😻
All the sixth form boys at the boys grammar school were aspiring Lloyd Cole’s in the mid to late 80s. And I was smitten by the arty boys❤️😂
three minutes of absolute magic.

Their first hit,in July 1984. Reminds me of pub evenings back then.
Cracking lyrics by Lloyd and the bass guitar in the background the accoustics at the front melody complete intelligence from a great band
