This. Don't forget Billary was appointed by Obama. It reminds me of that holdout with pirates that had American citizens hostage, and Obama delayed doing anything because he was afraid it would tarnish his political position, and the naval officer had to disregard orders and send in the SEAL team to rescue the hostages. Then compare that to the orange guy who just recently almost took a bullet in the face for his country, and shouted his defiance. the same guy that went to the funeral for the firefighter who died in the shooting while the current Executive branch (including once invisible but now mysteriously popular VP) didn't even bring it up or mention it.
I remember this day well, I was in boot camp when it all went down. For the next 2ish months our DIs made it sound like we were gonna be there busting heads next!
I met these guys at a book signing in 2015, Tanto is by far one of the coolest people I've ever met. I showed up right at the tail end of the event and their handler person said "Oh you wanna get your book signed? Oooooh, I don't know, they're closing up right now...." and Tanto runs up "Hey man, you wanna get your book signed? Well come on over!"
I have watched this film several times and I'm still disgusted that they were basically left for dead. Some of the lines that Tanto says are mood lighteners especially in the heat of battle There's also a book called 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi if you're interested
Tanto was the goofball of the group (which seems true based on what I've seen of the real Tanto) but he was still absolutely deadly serious when he had to be. Those kind of guys are so valuable in a group, they help keep morale up even in bleak situations.
When Congress interviewed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, they asked her what she did. She said she went home. The congressman asked "alone?" She laughed and said yes alone 😢😢😢 These were her people under attack!
@@LuckySmurf the question wasn't absurd. American's were under attack!!! Here is the exact quote, "Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they’d go kill some Americans," Clinton said. "What difference - at this point, what difference does it make?"
Such an embarrassing situation for the State Department. This was the epitome of politics getting in the way of supporting our men and women. It's easy to miss, but the quick scene with the two Delta guys saying "We're it, brother" is telling. The government sent two men from one of the most elite military units in the world simply to destroy sensitive information. If they could get two guys there, they could have gotten an entire team there, but the didn't. Absolutely pathetic how we abandoned those men. People should have gone to prison for what happened, but of course no one in the media seemed to care to hold anyone in THEIR government accountable.
The movie was made to let Americans know the truth about what happened that night. They were on their own, and fighting for their lives for 13 hours. They could have had air support, but the U.S. government (Hillary) refused to send it.
According to the government, air support was unavailable at the time. I'm not arguing in favor of the mess that was created, but Hollywood certainly is not interested in the truth; and cannot get anything right.
I served 10 years in the army. 6 as a ranger and this movie is highly accurate except how the 320 blew that tactical in half. They are not that strong. 4 tours and seeing a fallen battle brother never dulls. But in the midst of the fight there's no time to weep. You let that all go when you RTB. So in the beginning it was really smart that Tyron woods did not meet with Jack right away. It was good that he stood in the stairwell that way he could observe if Jack had a tail on him while he walked to the car. I found small details like that to be really cool because we did apply that in real world scenarios. Now I'm not the best of the best Like Delta, Navy seals etc but rangers do get a good bit of training and we often do CQC and CQB which is close quarters combat and close quarters battles (clearing rooms) With different military groups. So sometimes a seal may actually teach a ranger something new that they never known. And rangers Are JSOC qualified which means joint special operations command. Basically meaning rangers can roll out with a SEAL Team but we may just be pulling perimeter detail while they do all the room clearing. I can't speculate too much on these guys jobs cuz they were private contractors and I don't know how much of the military actually still applies as far as regulations goes but I will say as far as a combat, coms, yelling out RPG, yelling out mortars etc. If you ever found yourself in a situation (hypothetical ) where there's mortars get as low to the ground as possible because they blow up and out so there's a better chance of you living if you get as low to the ground as possible and if you can actually find something like a foxhole to crawl into
That plane full of soldiers were all ready to go in and help but got orders to stand down as well. I get that it would've risked more lives, but CIA personnel and an American ambassador were on the ground so that help should have been sent no matter the risk
@patrickevans9604 same shit caused Mogadishu, General Garrison asked for AC-130 gunship support and armor vehicles, this was denied by Washington, if they had that they would have been much better off against the somalis Our leaders have a history of putting optics and money over the lives of our soldiers and the efforts they fight for One of my favorite quotes about the nature of war is held within the movie black hawk down, said by the character hoot when asked if he thinks the US should be there He says "you wanna know if I think we should be here? I think it doesn't matter what I think or what you think for that matter, cause once the bullets start flying all the politics and reasons go right out the window" "it's just war man"

There’s certainly some dramatization in this movie, but I believe there’s much less than most think. For instance, the scene where John Krasinski’s character, Jack Silva, momentarily lost his contact actually happened. The survivors were actually consultants during filming.
Some of them were. Boon and Jack gave their input but didn't wanna appear on camera so the other 3 (tanto, oz, and tig) did most of the heavy lifting and all the press interviews for it
Oh, I always love your reactions Ames. This one, I was gonna jump on some work around the house after lunch, but I saw this pop on my feed and decided work would have to wait!
Ames, some things to understand about this. The reason that Libya was a failed state is because the US (under Obama, but pushed mainly by then Sec. State Hillary Clinton so she could get her "war" bona fides before her future presidential run), along with the Brits and French, caused the overthrow of the Gaddafi government in Libya under false pretenses (sound familiar?). That caused a power vacuum resulting in competing factions battling for power. That threw the country into chaos. As a result, still a dozen years later the country is still in chaos and there still exist actual open-air slave markets today since that time. What a great legacy for Obama, the first black US president (who I voted for the first time). The ambassador went to the same school as me and I had met him previous to his death (obviously). The political leaders that caused this (Obama, Clinton, others, and I include the idiots in Congress regardless of party who were also pushing Obama into action because he was actually trying to avoid it, I'll give him that) are the absolute worst of humanity. If there is a hell, I can only hope that there will be an accounting for those ghouls.
Congratulations on 100K Ames. 🎉🎉 I came here because of your fellow TH-cam friend, Addie Counts, and now I DEFINITELY need to get her to watch this movie. #13HoursForAddieCounts

The actor playing Tyrone Woods is also in The Departed and The Pacific. The actor playing "Tanto", Pablo Schreiber, is also in The Wire and the Halo series. Three of the survivors served as advisors for this film. Another Michael Bay film like this I recommend watching is The Rock

You are 100% correct about michael bay and his specific style, I find especially that the action scenes more specifically the explosions are very "personalized" he uses a lot of bright lights and sparks, where others might keep them a bit more toned down, it's very easy to see the similarities if you've watched movies like "Transformers", "13 hours" and "6 underground"
@@davidrampone yeah I realize that afterwards. I reacted on emotions, I was so pissed that day when I heard Hillary say that. Thank God, she never became president.
I think the saddest part of the whole situation is that Libya is still a mess to this day and it's totally our fault. There are even slave markets in Libya again.
Deposing Ghadafi turned Libya from a country with 95% litteracy rate to a failed state. The only reason international coalition did that was because France was afraid to lose financial influence in northern Africa as Ghadafi was trying to convince other north african countries to create common currency based on gold standard.
I absolutely adore this movie. As you point out Ames, it shows the dedication of these soldiers turned contractors. Such a horrible situtation that could have been avoided. State had intel something might happen and did nothing. H. Clinton is ultimately responsible, but truly the loss of life is a State Dept failure as an organization. Anyway, I love Transformers 1 for the camp, but this is my fave Bay movie. Cheers!
Did Hillary face criminal charges? Just curious. Sounds like something that would be punishable if it was a cognitive choice to have US soldiers just die.
I agree there's plenty of failures at the State Dept, but the Pentagon and military brass also deserves plenty of heat and scrutiny. Did State never get them the permission to fly into Libya? If so, why didn't they move heaven and earth to get something, anything in the air. As stated, even a fly-over could have changed the course of events.
I remember the jambo hand sign was popular with the contractors from Africa, they would be working inside the bigger bases and anytime you would pass by them they would always just say "jambo". I still don't really know why but it's cool I reckon.

I remember that Donald Trump is a traitor to the United States. The end.
@@uh60ce1 Trump is a traitor.
@@temjiu9915 This. So much this.
She still got the popular vote back then.
So do you honestly believe the people that vote for that party are paying any more attention these days?
I remember this day well, I was in boot camp when it all went down. For the next 2ish months our DIs made it sound like we were gonna be there busting heads next!
I met these guys at a book signing in 2015, Tanto is by far one of the coolest people I've ever met. I showed up right at the tail end of the event and their handler person said "Oh you wanna get your book signed? Oooooh, I don't know, they're closing up right now...." and Tanto runs up "Hey man, you wanna get your book signed? Well come on over!"
I have watched this film several times and I'm still disgusted that they were basically left for dead. Some of the lines that Tanto says are mood lighteners especially in the heat of battle
There's also a book called 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi if you're interested
She's a criminal!
The laugh was at the absurdity of the question (and how it was phrased), not what was happening at the embassy.
@@LuckySmurf That pos is responsible for the whole shitshow.
@@LuckySmurfShe abandoned them to die. There is no doubt about that.
@@LuckySmurf the question wasn't absurd. American's were under attack!!! This was completely her responsibility and even her fault considering that she was the one who pushed this complete S-show into motion. The question was basically asking if she has anyone on her staff along with her working on the situation. In no way was that question or situation funny!!!
Note to those that don’t know by now… the state department turns EVERYTHING to shit. Hillary Clinton “at this point, what does it matter”
I will never forget that stupid statement for as long as I can draw breath. She got called out and caught, and made some REALLY idiodic back handed statements to justify her immoral high horse.
Here is the exact quote, "Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they’d go kill some Americans," Clinton said. "What difference - at this point, what difference does it make?"
Pokémon go to the polls! Im not even American but have always disliked Hillary, she's such a fake snake.
Not "we." Obama. Obama doesn't represent us Americans, even if he occupied the White House for eight years.
That still sounds familiar to this day. The media is a joke.
The movie was made to let Americans know the truth about what happened that night. They were on their own, and fighting for their lives for 13 hours. They could have had air support, but the U.S. government (Hillary) refused to send it.
@holddowna1_O-N-TE-LE-GRAM What?
Republicans tried for months to hang this on her and failed. Try watching something other than Fox News.
According to the government, air support was unavailable at the time. I'm not arguing in favor of the mess that was created, but Hollywood certainly is not interested in the truth; and cannot get anything right.
F-16's were ready to go, but your never given the order.
Once again, untrue
If you ever found yourself in a situation (hypothetical ) where there's mortars get as low to the ground as possible because they blow up and out so there's a better chance of you living if you get as low to the ground as possible and if you can actually find something like a foxhole to crawl into
Don't sell yourself short. The Army Rangers are bad asses also.
Thank you for giving many years of your life to protect us. Much respect.
I spent 9 years in the Navy. I know we could have gotten help to them!
Yeah, you could have transported help closer to them.
That plane full of soldiers were all ready to go in and help but got orders to stand down as well. I get that it would've risked more lives, but CIA personnel and an American ambassador were on the ground so that help should have been sent no matter the risk

When she got up and told Congress " at this point what difference does it make" a lot bitch, a whole lot.
There were 8 congressional committee investigations, both Republican and Democrat, that found no wrongdoing on her part
@@theangryliberal If you believe that you're not very bright. She just happened to use BleachBit to purge 33,000 emails from her personal server when they were trying to investigate her. It's fine though because she's a (D)emocrat, nothing to see there.
@@theangryliberal Right. What happened was gross, but it wasn't specifically Clinton's fault. There are reasons to dislike her, but this operation isn't one of them. If she had been responsible, her political enemies would obliterate her over it. They didn't.

Already happening. Many have already been taken out. Deep State about finished now. Time to buckle up and hear the truth.
