  • This is part 4 of the Chevelle Restoration. We will be welding the entire back half of the car together. After this episode it will start to look like a car again. Be sure to follow me on tiktok to get more updates on the shop projects.

why is the door dropping when you open it? get the door right before aligning the rest.

Thanks for sharing. I got to do the same thing to my car. Unfortunately the person I got the car from cut the whole trunk without any bracing

That pretty much what happened with this one. You’re going to have to make it go where you want it to.😂

Where the front of the quarter panel meets the rocker, did you weld that or does that just get seam sealed?

Depends on what you want to do. From the factory they are seam sealed, and people usually re seam seal it. We haven’t decided what we are doing yet😂

What would a job like this cost labor wise?

You are looking at around 6-9k to replace all of the sheet metal and get it in epoxy.

What do you think about 3m panel bonding instead of welding

I love 3ms 8115 panel bond. I usually use it to glue on bedsides. I’m not sure if I would do it instead of welding, but it has its time and place. For example, if you were doing a patch that went through the flat part of a panel, I would panel bond it on, just to avoid warpage.
