That third lather was amazing! You reached Another Cut Above's neighborhood. I find that my best lathers come from my Timeless shave bowl. I have grown quite addicted to it. I can achieve Cris from ACA lather with it, and my hard water can't stop me! Soaps I have previously written off, now have amazing lathers. For me the blade that is nearest to the Nacet is Gillette Silver Blue. I haven't used the Gillette Platinum or Stainless, but your thorough accounting fills in the blanks nicely. Thanks for that!
Rick Reynolds Cris still is the man with lathers. You flatter me by even mentioning him in the same post. He's a good brother! I've been intrigued by the Timeless bowl with those ridges and depth.
I think you'd like the Stainless for the comfort part. If you recall my reaction on the first swipe of the first pass a few shaves back... LOL it was so comfortable for me.
I just got a hundo-pack on eBay. I’ve been Traditional WetShaving for exactly a year and this is my first time buying a hundo-pack. *Secret* when u trade with ppl ask them if they can throw in some blades!!! 💈😝👌💈 I have about 10-20 of the best blades from Bolzano to feather to Voskhod to Personna Red!
G'day Ken FYI below....Cheers and a great shave. Gillette's plant in St. Petersburg, Russian blades they make:- Astra Superior Platinum Astra Stainless Steel Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless Gillette Minora Gillette Nacet Stainless Gillette Platinum Gillette Rubie Platinum Gillette Silver Blue Gillette Stainless Perma-Sharp Super Polsilver Super Iridium Sputnik
that's correct. blades are made in Russia but for some Arabic country according to Arabic letters on it, ti my mind it's made for Emirates. thanks for the review
Interesting how much do they cost in Egypt. I guess pretty cheap. And yes they are made in Russia on the famous Saint Petersburg factory that produces the best Gillette blades and also astra and pol silver and perma sharp - best of the best
They are pretty cheap around here, indeed. They are less than $4 a hundred. We had a currency devaluation about two years ago, which pushed the local price to match the exchange rate, so they are more expensive now, but still for around the same rate in US $ and don't see them too often, but I was prepared, and got myself 700 of them before prices went up haha. Blades in Egypt are generally very cheap, if you ever visit make sure to stock on em. Availability is sometimes an issue, you can't get a certain brand at a given time, but the research pays off. The most available of course are Lord blades.
Wow! $4 a hundred it's really cheap. The cheapest price I found on ebay was $12 from Jordan. with 700 blades you stocked for 20 years at least :-)))))))))))) I know lord blades, they are your home egyptian production, pretty good, but Gillette is better. So enjoy your stock
I don’t think I’ll be buying these again. I got 50 of them. I’m curious why they have what looks like Arabic or Turkish writing instead of Russian or English? I have Voshkod blades that have English and Russian on them… my concern is they’re counterfeit as I don’t know why a Russian made blade would be stamped in Arabic?
Sending positive vibes your way and hoping for a speedy recovery.
Tony Thanks, Tony! She's doing a lot better already.
Sorry to hear about mom, getting old is not for the faint of heart as they say, good vibes and best wishes coming your way. Good luck champ!
Sam Ronin Thanks, Sam! Sad part was it was a freak accident. The dog left a puddle and mon has tile floors. She didn't see it in the morning.

Jason C Awesome! Thank you for this info! I didn't know the Permasharp Supers are from there, too! That's great to know. I dig those blades!
Only been de shaving a few weeks after far to many years with cartridges. What would you say are best blades for starting out?
I recommend the Astra green especially for the excellent price per blade, but you type of beard growth may dictate otherwise.
Sorry about your mom, best wishes to you both.
abe frohman Thanks, abe. Hopefully surgery goes well. She's in right now.
Good luck!
Does that cube work?
Mr. Isaac Thank you, sir! I think the Cube works well as a preshave, plus a lather builder and face soap if you haven't come from the shower.

I get them here in Egypt, too, and yep I concur, they are made in Russia.

My grandchildren will thank me one day, lol. I find Lord Platinums, in particular, pretty smooth, albeit not as sharp. Thank you, best wishes.
Great shave brother! Hope your mom is recovering quick
thanks, Lee. She's doing well so far and we'll see how rehab goes throughout the week.
Best Wishes
Thank you, Jess!

I believe they're made primarily for the Turkish market.
I find the Nacet to ruff .
I've heard that from many folks. They seem to be hit and miss in the community. :)
