31:15 I'm interested in the note you left at the bottom here, it's cool video and nobody's asked yet, so I'm curious!
With pleasure:
- Pokedex and Team Rocket:
Pokémon Let's Go is canon, confirmed by Gamefreak. Playing the game, it's happened with an entirely new timeline.
This Let's Go timeline happen during an Era where Red and Blue (Green) started their adventure much much sooner.
With proof:
- Blue have mentionned that when he started his adventure, they didn't get Pokedex, Instead, they used paper when they encounter new Pokemon with information and everything else. Here his dialogue:
_Those'll be even better for catching Pokémon than plain old Poké Balls. And hey, that thing you've got there... That's a Pokédex, right? So Gramps finally went and made one! He used to make me just scribble on a map with a pencil about where I encountered Pokémon..._
Knowing this, they started much before compared to previous generation (Red, Blue, Yellow, Fire Red and Leaf Green)
During that time when Red and Blue Started their adventure, Team Rocket organisation didn't started their plan yet, was hiding and behind the scene since the Pokedex wasn't there yet. Team Rocket have taken action during the time when the Pokedex was created by Prof.Oak. Blue and Red either have encountered some grunt member but nothing serious or Team Rocket wasn't much important, if not they would've not been there in the first place (This time, I'm talking about Chase and Trace adventure.)
- Now about Pallet Town :
Chase/Elaine and Trace were at the "same" house as Red and Blue. *However something we forgot is that Pallet Town and all the town, Route and Cities are very vaste.* The game is actually always showing to us the most important stuff you need while playing the game. The rest is none important, which mean there is multiple house in Pallet town and in every Town City. However they show to us important dialogue that help the player continue their adventure. Adding Red and Blue's house is unnessecary since it's none important.
Hope this help!
Yup,cause Red's Pikachu don't have Light Ball as held item and Volt.Tackle as one of Pikachu's move in R/B/Y, G/S/C and even I'm LGPE.
So,chances are maybe it's an ordinary Pikachu
Red has same outfit in those games.
So,maybe timelines goes like this
R/B/Y ----> LGPE ----> G/S/C
FRLG -----> HGSS ------> B2/W2
@@SayRene-ex8yk I personally think that LGPE is from another timeline, the mega timeline. Something like this:
R/B/Y ----> G/S/C
FRLG -----> HGSS ------> B2/W2
---> LGPE -----> XY ------> SM
My main argument is that there are Mega Stones and the Fairy-type in Let's Go (This one I think is something that only exists in the games in the mega timeline, due to being introduced with the mega evolution).
Also there is Mina,
@@Mixeli Very neat stuff, great research, and looking forward to more like this!!
@@pipegaete1270I don't think so LGPE events happened after B2/W2
Cause LGPE don't have held items and even held items that increases attack were introduced in Gen 2(during Johto events) so its possible that it's before G/S/C.
Maybe LGPE belongs to timeline where all gimmicks were already discovered.
Maybe Gamefreaks expand this timeline by making Let's Go type remakes of upcoming games after generation 1
videos like these are what keep my wonderment for pokemon, deep diving into red's character and pokemon he decides to use help me into furthering my knowledge on this franchise narratively as a whole, thank you so much for this video!
This is truly amazing and all makes sense to why these games are fully connected and how Red is the only trainer you faced at the end of HG/SS. I would never think that the connections of FireRed/LeafGreen/Emerald truly makes it believable in my eyes and how each pokemon is represented in the games so well. To know that Red knows the Emerald protagonist in that time period is a bit of an eye opener and a good one at that. I always love learning about Pokemon Theories and this one is now my all time favorite. Keep it up, Mixeli!!!
I really like the origin that you gave Pikachu but in Masters Reds Pikachu has Volt Tackle and he found him at Viridian Forest
Masters is not canon
@@ajlucky0076This! And seriously would i believe that every single important person in the whole globe (or still just parts of it) went to this one artificial island at the same time. Hell no. Plus i don't like how they're not aging or having not experienced events from later installments in the series (Grimsley isn't broke in Masters) and they keep their old designs too.
Plus Ash is there somehow which already makes things complicated...
@salag8013 I was thinking the exact same thing
@@ajlucky0076events which occur in this timeline are nit canon but facts said in this game are true, game freak checks this game
Wow! The explanations were pretty good! I'm amazed by the connections between Fire Red and Emerald.
this is thought out really well and i like the fact that you included images from the manga as well early on
Now I know the true origin of Red's Pokémon Team thanks to this video very explainable and clean.
Wow, this video is AMAZING MAN!!! The information is very good
Edit: Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are AMAZING Tier S games of the pokemon games
Nice theories although I personally lean toward Red (FR version) owning Charizard as a starter. I think the starters are largely interchangeable and the trade theory still fits. There's also Pokemon Origins which gave a similar version of Red a Charmander as his starter, though I'm aware there may be creative license there based on Charizard's popularity, along with potential differing timelines due to the inclusion of Mega evolution (which didn't exist in gen 3-4).
Despite the original gen 1 manga and promo art counterpart owning a Bulbasaur, it still seems possible they revised that decision and went in a different direction once the games became a global hit, Charizard became very popular through the anime as a hero figure, and name changes (Green to Blue) occured during translation.
Anyway, all of this is somewhat amusing because it implies none of the characters knew the exploit of Ditto breeding. The finality of the trades does make it more fitting for story though.
Indeed
I also believe he got a Charizard in HGSS
The Let's Go, HGSS and GSC could possibly be 3 timelines (unfortunately to continuity)
However, HGSS seems to use Red from FRLG and GSC uses Red from Yellow!
I think Bulbasaur is Red's True Starter because of the manga and stuff
and plus it makes sense SINCE bulbasaur is the 1st pokemon in the pokedex & red is the first pokemon protagonist
Well, Red first would need a Charizard to breed with the Ditto to get a Charmander
In Pokemon Masters, the 1st partner Red had when he came to the game was Charizard. Which can Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X
What a nice and very intereseting vid Mexili! Hope you do more videos like this one, i really like it a lot!
The Machamp trade is such a big detail that it's incredible it has being in Green/Blue's team for HG&SS, B2W2 and Sun/Moon!
In Pokémon Masters, some information's are provided such as what happened to Eevee in Celedon cape and where did Red caught Pikachu. Also, Leaf stated that Red once saw a Suicune in the Kanto region (implies the roaming legendary in FR/LG) and the only way to see that roaming Suicune is by picking Charmander.
I'm not saying Masters is Canon but some points are yet to be proven.
Pokemon Master has too many inconsistency when it come to being canon. This game isn't sorry.
@@Mixeliimo, your video perfectly explains how HGSS Red has the team he does, and it’s well thought out and shows it’s evidence. But just as RBGY are different canons from FRLG, but all still technically exist as a canon (just not the SAME canon as each other); Imo Masters can work just as well; it would mean that it’s not the exact same Red we fight in HGSS. But just as Emerald’s canon is still relevant to the current games through things like Anabel (who comes from a world without Megas, and where Hoenn’s story went a little differently than in ORAS), she is still now living in a new world in SM that DOES have Megas.
In other words, I believe that you COULD be correct to say, “The Red in Pokémon Masters is not the exact same Red we fight in HGSS”. HOWEVER! It’s still certainly possible that it’s just a different Red from FRLG who made slightly different choices. Just as the Red in Pokémon Origins isn’t “the canon HGSS boss” because he has Mega Zard, but yet we *do* see in Let’s Go that Red CAN get Mega Stones in THAT game.
In other words, your video is completely accurate just from the perspective of Gen 3 and 4. However, to say that other versions of Red like Masters or Origins are “non-canon” would deny the multiverse aspect that canon Pokémon games like SM and ORAS or Legends Arceus have shown us. Those “other Reds” MAY be non canon to HGSS itself, but it doesn’t mean that EVERY game that has Red would be this exact copy of the Gen 4 HGSS boss fight Red. After all, at the very start of the video you had to clarify which version of Red we’re talking about. Multiple Reds exist, just each in their own timeline; and while they normally don’t interact, even just trading between FireRed and LeafGreen should show that the possibilities of choices like Starter Pokémon, genders of player characters, and other factors vary from universe to universe BUT DO still affect each other.
Thus, in a grander sense, everything is canon lol. But as I say, at least for HGSS, I can see you’re correct about how he got all his mons.
What does Masters say about Reds Eevee?
@@salag8013 as of now, Red’s hasn’t been mentioned. Leaf however owns an Eevee in Masters, it’s actually one of the best healing pairs that aren’t limited time and available for free. I’m pretty sure she’s the only one with an unevolved Eevee in the game, though there are many Trainers with Eeveelutions. Red does not have either Eevee or an Eeveelution in Masters, at least as of now, but that could always change.
@@Diamond_AuraNuh huh.
I believe originally bulbasaur was supposed to be his starter, but over time they ended up making charmander the "official" starter for Red and I believe that Red from let's go is a reference to artwork from the RGBY era, so much so that it would be for this reason that its counterpart Leaf would be replaced by Green (Blue in the Japanese version)
Love me some more Red content 😎 also awesome vid as usual
very nice video, well put together and interesting, hope to see more about other topics as well, maybe some specific Pokemon?
keep it up!
Red from G/S/C have many secret that not many people know.
One day. ;)
26:32 I believe the reasoning as to why Blue has a Charizard is because the game just decides to pick Bulbasaur as the initial starting pokemon since it's the first one of the batch and since atp we haven't picked a starter Pokemon yet, the game just picks/assumes the first starter is the one chosen. I might be wrong tho, this clue for me was the only weaker part of the theory..
In the Pokémon Adventures manga Red's second (after Poliwhirl) Pokémon is a Bulbasaur while Green has Charmander. Green picked Charmander before Red went to Oak's lab. So yeah, Green was destined to have a Charmander (and later on a Charizard)
@@Kyumifunand Leaf stole the remaining squirtle right?
@@Kyumifun im referring on how the game code *might* work and not lore from the manga and game artworks
@@User-co6dv i was just adding to why it makes sense for Red to have Bulbasaur as his starter by bringing up the manga. So yeah, there's multiple media supporting this idea
@@Kyumifun It's implied that gen 1 Red is a different version/in a different timeline to gen 3/4 Red. Their events play out similar but different to reflect player choices. Pokemon Origins shows a Red with Charmander while Pokemon Generations shows a Red with Bulbasaur and a caught Pikachu from VIridian Forest, likely closer to gen1-2 Red.
great and very curious video!!!
My theory is that Red might have received _Pokémon eggs_ from Blue (Green) & Leaf as friendship gifts, which _hatched into a Charmander and a Squirtle,_ respectively.
Woah nice theory
That explains everything, I just thought for a moment that Red has chosen Charmander as his starter but his real starter was a Venusaur? I respect that and also thanks for sharing these multiple facts about Red's secrets revealed
Amazing video Bro
Great job and justificative research, it is an interesting topic. 👍
Pretty interesting that the 3 starters and Pikachu ended up establishing a link between Red and other 3 key Trainers (his rival giving him Charizard, the female protagonist giving him her Blastoise and the protagonist from Emerald giving him a Pichu egg thus providing a logical explanation for why Pikachu can use Volt Tackle).
Charizard being the sort of canonical starter for the rival according to the sequence breaking in this video seems to parallel the manga where Blue (Green in Japan) gains a Charmander while Red gets a Bulbasaur.
Love how Leaf, in spite of being pretty much ignored in future games where Red and his rival appear (the Black & White sequels and the games set in Alola), secretly ends up fulfilling a role similar to the Battle Subway partners (the gender-opposite player characters not chosen) in the Unova games, except instead of being an NPC partner she is the reason Red managed to acquire the remaining starter.
I'm pretty confused as to whether or not the Let's Go games take place in the same universe as the Hoenn remakes, given how both sets of games involve Mega Evolutions.
As for the comments mentioning Masters, I have to say that Black Zekrom being a fusion of N's Zekrom and Hilbert's Kyurem (which is a 2nd Kyurem that pretty much came out of nowhere, considering Ghetsis was already portrayed as having the legendary Kyurem under his control) was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back in regards to the inconsistencies within its continuity.
Wow you really did an iceberg for red that is amazing his Pikachu is from Hoenn
Here's an idea about Blue's Alakazam and Red's Machamp:
What if Red and Blue trade Machoke and Kadabra with each other and then traded back? Think about it, Blue has Abra in your third rival encounter, Red must've caught a Machop in Rock Tunnel, and there's only one way to evolve both of them.
This! And the old theory about where Graveler arms go when it evolves
That's actually really interesting althought the theory about how he got Charizard and Blastoise from Blue and Leaf is a little bit pulled by hair, your arguments are pretty good ngl but i do think that they traded egg version for respectively Machamp and Arcanine which would make more sense. Don't forget that Blastoise and Charizard was their first pokemon and even in the anime or in the game the value of the first pokemon have been explained multiple time as a "partner of life" "family" "close friend" so highly doubt your theory is valid but except that i love the theory about pikachu and eevee makes really good sense !!
This theory is the best theory ive ever seen in my life
great explanation of RED's full team, as people were only interested in pikachu lvl.88, and the misconception being it is from yellow version. Your video helped a lot with lore of how RED's team came to be as it is in HG/SS. My only question is why did the levels of his pokemon dropped in SM/USUM? i know its not related but i am just curious! (RED is my Fav. Characters in the pokemon franchise)
Red in gen 7 might be from a different timeline or levels are really just a game mechanic that doesn't really fit in with the lore or they can drop over time if you haven't been battling for a while.
either
1) He breeded more pokémon
2) It's a different timeline and multiverse theory is a bitch
Great video. Silly question coming though how were u able to play as Green/Blue in Fire red???🙈
This is an interesting video, but I think some of this goes a bit hard on assuming minor gameplay quirks are representative of actual story when, in reality, they are just what they are gameplay quirks. It's a cool theory, but it's 100% possible that Pikachu and the 3 starters could be obtained in a number of ways, including catching them himself.
Maybe Red gave Blue his Arcanine too because in GSC Blue doesn't have Machamp. And either way Blue ends up with an Arcanine. He could have given him Machamp eventually but I feel like for team building purposes' Arcanine makes sense.
Hey Mixeli, permission to use your videos on my channel for future projects I plan on making, I won't use the whole video only certain parts for editing purposes, and I'll be sure to give your credit in the descriptions, should I ever use them.
Thanks bro for explanation now I understand
Besides in manga as well it's shown as red with venasaur
Blue with Charizard & leaf with blastoise
Would red ever evolve his Pikachu? I know Pikachu is iconic but does red have a reason not to?
do more with other protagonists!
:D
Absolutely phenomenal video, I honestly 100% believe you and consider all this canon. All your resources were great!
Incredible research... I hv been around from years and just love ur content!!
But i miss those custom battle and ur work with greninja
Red's pikachu in HG/SS has a light ball when you challenge him, anyway nice video
We all love Red!
I remember hacking a pokemon fire red save file to make sure that my starter was a pikachu and I hack it so that pikachu can have volt tackle and for the other starters I hack it so that they are in the same locations as pokemon yellow and they were all given for free. Also gave Blue an eevee and made his team his pokemon yellow team instead fun times.
For me, Red initial will always be Charmander. Red from Let's Go is based in manga
I aint even know that Brendan had its own sprite in FR/LG, wildd
this ain't a secret but, Red's theme hits. And I think it fits him more than Lance.
I thought it was interesting how you came up with the origin of Pikachu. What is your thoughts on Pokémon Masters stating that Red’s Pikachu in the game is from Viridian Forest (via Synga Suit Red (Thunderbolt)’s Sync Pair Story)?
I don't believe Master to be canon because of it's multiple inconsistencie.
Each of the character have different timeline than the games itself.
I do respect disagreement though
@@Mixeli I’d love to believe Masters’ characters to be cannon but I agree that the number of inconsistencies are many.
I wish we had a game that followed a linear cannon timeline.
That being said credit where credit is due to you and your research. I’m very interested in the cannon of the Pokémon games and I love those cannon battle and teams videos you did, as well as this type of facts/speculation videos.
I believe it is somewhat of a stretch to use the names/teams that are first or default in the code as evidence for them to be canon, as that coul be decided arbitrarily by the programmers and have no distinction under normal means. Otherwise, you have convinced me, pretty good research!
came from Twitter btw
Yet in the games and anime specials, Red gets Charizard
29:05-29:19 In japan Red is usually associated with Bulbasaur evolution and Green with Charmander one (another clue are the first Pokémon mangas)
Amazing video!! It really made me change the way I see about Red's pokemons! But I was left with two doubts: how did Red got his Blastoise in GSC? And why didnt Red evolved his Pikachu? I would be very grateful if you answer me! 😁
I have the answer but it will be on future video.
I can give a clue, just one:
- Red's Pikachu have the Light Ball in Yellow, yet he doesn't have it in G/S/C.
You can make assumption that the Red we are fighting didn't originate from Yellow but instead Red and Green.(Jp)
I have plenty other clue to prove this but once again, it will be on future video. I don't know when since those take a while to create.
@@Mixeli ok ^^
I believe Pokemon red green blue is in the same time line as Pokemon Gold silver.
While pokemon Fire Red leaf green and ruby sapphire and Heart gold soul silver are in a different time line.
That's why we have two different versions of red and blue.
And that's also why leaf looks like green.
29:41 i mean, Let's go it's a totally different timeline tbh, for one, there's mega evolution, witch does only appear in a timeline that is different fron the original one, Red does not defeat Team Rocket, and Giovanni is still here, witch dosen't make sense since he would just be studying pokémon in somewhere in the globe outside of Kanto, both because of the defeat of him in FR/LG, and the HG/SS Celebi event
it still baffles me that Volt Tackle comes from gen 3 and not gen 4.
It’s really cool that you used Blue’s overworld sprite that way. He does have a battle backsprite in the ending credits, albeit no throwing animation.
That should make it easier to play as him.
Thanks for watching. Those are fact that I've found.
I already gave a clue on this video. Watch it carefully.

Have a great day!
Amazing video!!!
But why would Green want to trade hers Blastoise for Arcanine? I don't see profit for her in this
She wanted a "Legendary" Pokemon
I like this can you do this to another Pokémon protagonist
can you explain the chase and trace thing? im curious?
Read the pinned comment
Let’s go is different timeline, because they have mega evolution.Which doesn’t exist in original timeline, where HGSS happens.Let’s go would happen before SM/USUM.
I would say that Red traded his Arcanine and Machamp for Charizard and Blastoise, from Green, not Blue and Green, because Green has both Arcanine and Machamp in Alola,I mean that Green could trade his Tauros for Blastoise from Blue, because he doesn’t have his Tauros in Alola.
And I also don’t understand any canon, cause remakes always in different timeline?Cause ORAS happens in MT,while RS/E happens in OT.Maybe the original RBG/Y and GSC happens in different timeline.
"Emerald is the canon version of Hoenn"... Uhm I don't think so, because nowhere else in the Pokémon universe Wallace is referred to as the Hoenn champion, but for some reason it always remains Steven and Wallace is back to his gym. Maybe just for the trade you mention, but in all the rest of the franchise it's like Emerald never existed xD (except for the Battle Frontier).
Have you played the tournament in B2W2? Wallace is the Champion here too.
@@Mixeli ok but there's also Steven...
Quick question would brendan be better in Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire?
Omega Ruby
Professor Mixeli Master of desaster.
How about Red from Let's Go; he i different
Green is a girl from the said games
Quizá quién debería estar cómo último entrenador, debería ser Leaf, haciendo que ella consiguiera a los 3 Pokémon iniciales cómo en la versión amarilla, además de arreglar varios problemas en la historia de los juegos
Por que leaf?

Venusaur is the GOAT
So that how eevee evolution
Are there any other canon teams for the other trainers? Now im geniunely curoius. I dont really care about headcannons, facts seem way more interesting.
Like 👍👏😁
But in the anime Pokemon origins, Red chose Charmander as his starter.
Yeah but
That was in a different universe
Red REALLY picked Bulbasaur.
26:17 he walks through walls
Nice video, but most of it is sheer headcanon tho.
Hello
Hi!
So according to this video, the OG rby and gsc games aren't canon??? 😢
What are they at this point, just base games that would inevitably create another completely new timeline?
This makes me feel as if the OG games the remakes came from didnt get any respect lorewise...
one thing i always found sad especially after replaying through crystal... was when i had made it to pallet town and had a chat with reds mom... i instantly got so sad because it rlly gives the human in these games and that everyone in their isnt a npc with no feelings... it hurts when you think about it, red hasnt called/ nor texted his mom in forever and im pretty sure he wont since the battle between gold isnt cannon... (im not 100% sure abt this)
Heres how I think Red Got his Team
Venusaur: Starter
Pikachu: Viridian Forest
Espeon: Celadon City, evolved on Mt. Silver
Snorlax: Route 16
Lapras: Silph. Co
Charizard: Traded to Blue in exchange for Red's Arcanine in Lets Go, since Green Has it in his Gym.
Blastoise: There isn't evidence that Blue has a traded Pokemon so its assumed she unknownly gives her Blastoise away to Red.
