It's great to see professionals like Hiram put in the effort to help all of us out. Beyond knowledge, the number one thing I look for is a presentation that respects the viewers' time. It's too easy to click away when I've wasted another minute without learning anything.

My main goal when starting videos was to help the DIYer. I get a lot of negative feedback from people because I guess I hurt their profit margins, but I think I do help people more often than not. This is why I make these videos, thank you.

I stopped, drove from my brother’s back home to see someone take this off, making sure there were no spring to fly and such. Thanks! 😃

Jesus, this is the most depressing repair video I've ever seen. Sounds like you need a hug, Man.

8 minutes of having humility and 1.5 minutes of mechanical explanation. Thumbs up though when you did get to the point it did help me.

The best sign of a great technician, is one that knows they do not know everything! I hate people who think they know EVERYTHING, especially when it comes to auto mechanics.

Dude you are preaching the truth. I run my own shop and get that everyday. That is why they have all data or Mitchell report! Now doesn't mean you don't know how to get the job done but there is alot of studying all the time. I work on anything from 2016 gl460 Mercedes to f550 tow trucks. Do I know them all... no... did I fix them alll...all.... yes

Yo this is real talk. I'm kinda surprised this got more dislikes than likes. He couldnt be more on point. Especially when your struggling with an issue, you need to stop and double check your doing things the right way because 9x out of 10, something stupid you missed will cost you a broken part thats expensive or discontinued. He is obviously getting hit by numerous questions for feeling the need to have to dedicate a video to specifically emphasize this point.
Perhaps the people asking the questions should pop the same question in a google search or hop your lazy asses to the library and look it up on Mitchell for free, paid for by your local authority; THEN asked to borrow MORE of these guys time.
He may not compare to the other guys right now, and more so due to difference in years experience, but he possessesthe right attitude that will surely put close behind those guys in no time. THATS what you guys really need to digest in this video.
Do your homework before you start a job, be patient, double check your doing it right when you come to a problem, patience, ask for help when you've exhausted all other options. And itll make giving you advice if your at least well verse in the underlying mechanics of the repair your asking about.
Much respect, keep the vids coming man

use the two screws that hold the throwout bearing in as jack screws. there is a recess in the casting for them. it'll pop right off, *if it doesn't, STOP IMMEDIATELY so you dont punch a hole in the casting (you can also gently pry on the tab at the bottom of the retainer). drive the old seal out from the front with a seal driver, or socket close in size to the outside diameter of the seal. (watch for the metal bands to fall out and note their position carefully. they set bearing preload and can get trapped under the lip of the retainer, the top one has a counter bore that faces the rear of the transmission) use some Syl-Glyde, or grease to lube the outside of the seal to ease installation and grease the seal lip so it doesn't run dry against the input shaft and tear up the seal lip before the it gets lubricated. drive it in with a seal driver from the back side gently and evenly until seated.(this will be obvious from the front of the retainer) use a small amount of oil resistant silicone to reseal. you can use a small amount of grease to retain the spacer rings when installing as well.

He's showing how not to when you start fucking shit up cause it ain't going your way in stead of breaking it and a few other things you didn't really want to cause you didn't know .. you think research and if you don't know what bolts hold the housing for the seal you should do like he said do your home work
