There is currently no tax on alcohol in Dubai, it was removed at the start of 2023. The only taxes remaining on alcohol are 5% import duty and 5% VAT. So just like in the US when you are getting drinks at a 5 star resort right on the beach you will pay extortionate rates. As a whole, in like for like establishments I find NYC quite a lot more expensive than Dubai, especially when you factor in the out of control tipping culture in the US.

So glad you're back with a new video. To be honest, there is a big difference between 100$ and 1000$ trip to Dubai. Dubai has become richer and more, not only in natural resources, but also thanks to people, policies, high quality of service and so on. I will try to get a chance to go to Dubai with my family one day and discover this amazing and gorgeous place. Good luck Brett and hope you have more videos of countries in the world.

Hey Brett thank you for this video. You probably won’t see this, but your some of the reason I am taking a trip here in January to see if I want to move there. I will be staying at Atlantis The Palm. IM SUPER EXCITED. I have everything and everyday planned to a T.
Dubai’s a cool place, might make the trip over to visit someday. So many of those buildings and infrastructure projects were signed and engineered here in NYC including the Burj. Do wish they were better about how they treated foreign laboratory which have built so much of the country for so cheap.
True, but then they don't have 50k+ homeless living on the streets either, as they do in LA alone (have you seen SF recently?). The US has millions of dollars to give to Israel to murder civilians, but can't find the money to care for it's own homeless!
This was such a fun vlog! Quick question, how did you go filming with your camera? We were just taking photos around the place and security would approach us every time saying not allowed camera only iPhone and threatened to call the police 😅 like at the sky view place, the burj khalifia and just in the streets 😂
Yeah,one of the tough parts about creating in Dubai for sure. A lot of this vid was actually filmed on my phone for that reason

The Five Jumeirah is filled with chavs, and palm is one of the worse places to stay at. Also, the sand used to build the palm is acquired through the dredging of the seafloor as the desert send doesn't stick well together. Otherwise fun video.

There is no more tax on alcohol in Dubai. Since the beginning of 2023 the tax on alcohol was removed. However the clubs and hotels took it as their advantage and didn’t lower their prices.

Am i the only person that was wondering how one can run on eating only once a day? Eating out in Dubai itself can be $150 per day… breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, while i thank you for showing awesome things to do there - this is very unrealistic and one sided

I don't think Dubai is that expensive compared to London or Paris which has become crazy expensive. For USD260/= you will be lucky to find a shoe box size hotel room in both cities.

I went to Paris for Christmas and paid $74 a night for a great hotel room in the center of Paris and I’m going to London for Christmas this year and paying only $100 a night for a whole apartment to myself…. So I think your $260 quote is more than a little exaggerated!

I followed you in the beginning due to your candidness and truthful persona you had in the last few years. Watched this episode I thought I’ll just be a silent viewer and let it slide.
But I can’t.
For someone that has travelled over 50-60 countries as you mentioned, you seemed to be very easily impressed with things. My main gripe was that Palm Jumeirah was not built on sands in the desert, they were being dregged from the bottom of the ocean off the coast. It has significantly impacted the marine landscape and it is irreversible. If you can’t package this lie well then I think you should just skip that introduction. I am a resident of Dubai coming from a very developed nation I can tell you there is nothing impressive with all that you have picked to showcase. Instead of showing the real interesting sides of UAE you chose to show all these superficial activities. My main gripe with this video is your incorrect representation of the Palm and how it was built. I don’t normally posts comments but here it is just for this video.
Oh by the way, the Five you were staying in, there’s a bar below where men would visit. Don’t try to act all innocent.
