I drank by myself....I used to hide the bottle from my ex- fiancé....and I had a time frame, started before she got home from work. .....all the signs of alcoholism.🙄. Well that behavior is long gone...thank god!🙏🙏🙏😀👍 speaking of the first 3 days,.....it was brutal, I had dry heaves, tons of anxiety , I just felt very strange but it started getting much better after that.👍So for those that are committed to stop drinking....you CAN succeed in your goal of sobriety 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Today is day 2. Already I want to reward myself after work with alcohol for walking and getting my steps in but I'm not going to. That's why I'm binging on your videos!
The advice about eating healthy is so on point. I was sober for 6.5 years but the last year I've let it get bad again. I have been fooling myself into thinking it's sustainable to drink daily. Well, I didn't eat anything all day then I drank 10 shots of vodka from 8:30pm til 2am. That was Friday night. It's now Sunday and I'm still tingly and sweaty hands and foggy head and anxiety. I'll just do my best to not drink at all if I can get through today. But I've had prior success with having one drink when my withdrawal gets this bad. And then was able to snowball into a full week or two sober just fine. So I'm apprehensive but maybe weaning is the way to go for me.
I decided to watch one of these videos every day to help me with sobriety and I figured I'd start from the beginning. I love that you made this video at day three because today is day 3 for me.
This is perfect, day one done! My drinking partner is a life partner, tackling this together will make the difference. We have legitimate reasons for wanting to quit. 45 years of bad habit, nothing good ever came of it! Been watching you for a while Jae, but this is the first commitment. We have good eating habits and healthy lifestyles for 80 year olds. Always regretting the next day! Thank you for the pep talk! Phew; I’m listening…..😱🤪
I decided to start going to meetings again. It's been a tough one for me but the truth is my life has always been the most successful and happiest when I was around other sober people
Really Kyle!?! Thanks for saying so. We have nearly 200 videos in total now and finally got our website up yesterday at www.gettingsoberagain.com check it out and log your sobriety date to get your SOBER SHOUTOUT!
Day 1 because yesterday was day 0 - GETTING sober. Aka hangover day. I've tried everything. Ish. Sober forums, quit lit, identify triggers etc.... and yet I've never got past 13 days. I've only once got TO 13 days. Only twice to 10. Most recently to 6. So there's something that's in here that's stopping me, some unidentified belief. Apparently in some test my archetype is drink to MASK. Huh... Maybe I to have anxiety. I didn't know I did but maybe I do. I'll notice that.
We live in a world full of anxiety. But one thing is for sure alcohol and drugs is horrible for my nerves. In my opinion if a person doesn't already have anxiety it will create it. But typically addictions are anxiety Management Systems. I remember when I had spent several years sober and the best part was after a few months I finally stopped thinking about it all the time. Once I rewired my brain it got much easier.
Since 2020, i have been in 3 therapy. Last one was in april/may. Did a month sober after that... got back to alcool since then... it really not easy, now im going from 18 beers a day to zero on step... i'm at 6 a day now but only evening. Wish me luck mate! I don't want to go cold turkey... to dangerous for me.

3 drinks a day is a lot? Wow I must be over the top then. I have a pint of whiskey everyday after work and more than that on the weekends. I thought I was still mild considering what I've heard from others drinking habits.
They define binge drinking as 5 or more units of alcohol per day for men. Safety recommendations allow for only 2 units of alcohol per day. A pint of whiskey is over 10.5 units of alcohol. 😬
Your fear is the boss of the level you're currently stuck on. Beat the fear. Do what you need to do to overcome. Both options are hard, so just chose one and commit to it.
Dude, I discovered on my sobriety journey that ginger beer is my favorite N/A bev! I particularly like the maine root. brand, not sure if that's available where you are. We also have a local N/A beverage producer called Devil's Foot that does all sorts of lemonade and limeade flavors, root beer and they have the best ginger beer. They've even got one called ghost that has scotch bonnet peppers, that shit'll light you up
Replacing drinking watching your videos. Thank you.
I love it!!!

I'm excited to hear you both succeed!
Still trying to convince myself to do this. I am alone. But I know I need to.
It's really hard alone. I met people at AA but I'm still alone it's like they only want to be with other old timers
AA is good. Don’t give up on yourself. It needs time. Keep going to meetings and it works. Good luck my friend 🌹

Excellent decision. Do it for yourself not for anyone or anything else. Good luck my friend and let us know how did it go ❤
I enjoy reading. Psychological thrillers are my favorite!
Day 19 yay! Early days were easy. Now I the nasty little voice us trying to foil me. But, I know I am stronger without alcohol. Thank you, Jae.

As long as you're willing to look for the root of the issue, and willing to accept the answer, you WILL find the truth!
I used to do the same thing. Quitting and starting again. Now I find myself unable to stop for even a day. Don't get to this point friend
