OMG Karina, This is an amazing refashion. Your sneaky seams were so well thought out. You are truly talented. Thanks for sharing this amazing creation.
I love this remake Karina. I recently did the same thing with a blouse that was too large. It turned out well. I used the "fill-in" method under the armhole also.
You are clever Karina, I love the fabric of your jacket! A beautiful remake. Now I’m about to make a Coda linen jacket , last year I made a tartan Coda and cut one sleeve wrong so it ended up being a sleeveless coat, it turned out great anyway. 😅😂
So clever, I love this. I have some mens button down shirts that I want to try a refashion on -- and hopefully retain some of the sewn features. Your video will help. I am excited to see what I can come up with in terms of which side the buttons and buttonholes are on. Thank you.
Thank you for filming this refashion. I was able to understand how you filled the underarm area. I tried a refashion and found that my underarm needed more fabric. Unfortunately I didn’t have any extra fabric so I stopped working on it. This was moly a test to try it out so nothing lost. Next time I will know what to look for. Thank you!
About the armhole extensions. If it was a solid, you would have used them, then topstitched them so people would know the extensions were a design seam feature!
I’m planning to buy the Coda pattern today. One question, are you able to do an FBA on quilted fabric? The bust darts make the Coda look like a designer jacket. I’ve never sewn with this type of fabric. Just afraid that it’s going to look like a box on me. I’m thinking princess seams. Love your resourcefulness and creativity. Very nice remake. 🎉
I do like a bust dart and that's why I did the FBA on mine. With the dart there you can easily make princess seams from the shoulder and that would be smooth on quilted fabric.
Ok…deep dive into incorporating a princess seam. Purchased the pattern through your link. Thank you so much for everything that you’ve done for the sewing community.

Love this post. You gave me the inspiration I need to tackle my oversized sweater that needs to be downsized ❤
Excellent job. Redoing thrift finds is one of my goals. Hopefully this year I can start working on it.
Once again a great video and I have purchased coda pattern through your link. Your styling was lovely too.
Winner! The double ended darts make a great improvement. Very clever, Karina. 🏆
Yay, thank you! I decided to do that because this jacket was a little longer than the others. I felt so much better after adding the darts :)
What a fantastic upcycle! That sneaky seam is perfect! Love that blazer with the red dress and the jeans! So versatile!!
Wow, what a pretty blazer! Especially loved the outfit with the pair of jeans. Really great to see how you did the refashion with the Coda pattern.
Glad you liked it!! I really enjoyed making it!

I have added tiny little seams before with solids, but they were very small. In this case they were larger and I don't think I'd like them to be seen.
