I really enjoyed this video, Karina. I always get inspiration from your videos but this one is just extra. I love looking at patterns and garments through your eyes. Keep making these, please.
Clever remake! Looks like the brown linen is a soft blouse & probably very cool to wear in warmer weather especially since it has the bottom slits, scoop neck & loose sleeves. Love the pleated skirts & the yoga waistbands. Great ideas.
Love these makes! I remember many of the fabulous refashioned garments you created from thrifted items whilst in Bolivia .Thanks for a super inspirational video, Karina!
You really did a great job of up cycling those items. Usually the up cycled clothing you see on youtube is unimaginative and seldom anything you’d actually wear. Those skirts & tops you came up with were all fabulous. The herringbone top & white jeans was particularly striking.
Karina, This was a wonderful video. You just got my juices flowing on what I can do with thrift garments and even change clothes that are in my wardrobe that don’t work for me and can be used again after reconstruction. Thanks so much for these suggestions, great ones at that. You are a fabulous sewist. ❤❤❤
Hi Karina! This episode delivers inspiration just when needed 😊 (Love your channel. I found the sewing lesson exciting...totally practical while also demonstrating how to think outside the box (or finished garment) for elevated styling ❤) I'm forwarding this to my daughter. She is going to be an instant convert to your channel...the conversion ideas you have taught so well are totally in line with what she believes. She can can continue to thrift for fun, while being economically smart but now she'll be excited about creating fashion that matches her beautifully unique utilizing artistic aesthetics she can truly love for herself and her daughters. My favourite is your brown linen blouse with all its lovely details...the buttons running down the back and the sleeve tab with a button is beautiful! All your makes... understated elegance. Houndstooth knit is exquisite. My mother was a wonderful seamstress too. She would have been delighted (as am I) with your exacting standards, for example, as evidenced in your perfect matching of the houndstooth pattern. Superb and definitely worth the time and effort ❤
I enjoyed this video so much. LOVED the refashioned skirts. I just did my first refashion this week. It was of a tee and was fun and a learning experience.
Enjoyed the masterclass and the remade items are lovely 🙂Absolutely brilliant work around to go for a smaller size in the pleated skirt (lowering the waistline to keep the finished pleated hem).
Great refashions Karina. I love both the tops, but the linen is my favourite. I'm not much of a skirt person, but the movement in the green skirt is gorgeous. I'd wear it just for the swish factor.
I do similar flips with my daughters skirts. A size 4 party dress fits a 9 year old very well if you cut the bodice off. Alternatively, iron out, and make into flatfront elastic waist shorts :-)
Wow, thanks you so much for the inspiration❤️. I have ready-to-wear maxi-dresses in my wardrobe that I love the fabric but don’t wear because of the fit - looking at these with new eyes. Love your refashions😍
Thank you for this video-so timely for me as I just moved and saved some previously loved garments for remaking. Some of the older fabrics are nicer than what I can find now. One solution for the button placket when reusing men’s shirts: if the fabric design can be flipped upside down, the placket opens the way we women are accustomed to! -Addie
I think that slightly longer length of skirt looks uber smart on you, Karina! 😍 I love refashioning preloved items. Pure linen is a rare find in charity shops these days, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, sadly most of what I see is made from synthetic fabrics which I don't like 😞 so I am excited for you! Well done, the tops look fab 🎉
I love your upcycling makes and videos! You look amazing in all of your garments and outfits. You inspired me and I already have a few linen shirts in my stash that are waiting to be upcycled. 🤩
Love both your Cadences and refashioned skirts! I love to purchase larger men’s shirts especially for summer and remake into Cadences for myself. I’ve even found some with unique buttons I’ve been able to use for other patterns. I haven’t used the button placket yet but that’s a wonderful idea! I use leftovers for bias tape. You’ve given me some great ideas!❤️
Karina just have a quick question about the Taroko Skirt- I’m making my muslin out of a a10% stretch denim and want to forgo the front zipper and just make a faux fly front. My question is this- would I just eliminate the zipper guard( #7) and just top stitch the fly front down? I know I have to consider the waist that has to be big enough to be pulled up over my hips. I would appreciate your advice on this please 🙏 I love that pattern and have made the Mountain View jeans and need a nice A-line jean skirt. Thank You- love your channel!! Virginia in Arkansas ❤
Hi Virginia. The taroko skirt was not designed to be pull up at all. It’s got a fitted waistband. You need the zipper to get in. You can’t just make a fake fly…. In order to get it past your you’d have to grade out to a super large waist to get it past your hips and then add an elastic and that would end up bulky. I know it’s not what you want to hear but it’s my honest opinion. If you want a pull up stretch woven skirt with nice details, the Quebec is what you need. You are not breaking any fashion rules. You are making them! I love everything you do, and your outfits -including your accessories - are perfect!
So awesome to refashion these fabrics. I love your new pleated skirts. Your combinations with the tops look really good too.
KARINA I LOOOOOVE this! Please do move videos like this! Having to put in that bit of fabric to fit the sleeve! 😮 Made me love the top even more!
Lady, you are so smart! I always learn new things from watching your videos. The refashions look great on you, too!
absolutly great reworks i love them both
Love this, especially the inserts and tabs in the sleeves. Thank you, i really enjoy your chanel.
Those pleated skirts have beautiful movement to them. They do look high end. Nice re-vamp.
You did a great job styling those skirts ... perfect video for the fall!

Looks great with the blouse on the outside... excellent- you wear it well and I love seeing more styling 😊
Clever remake! Looks like the brown linen is a soft blouse & probably very cool to wear in warmer weather especially since it has the bottom slits, scoop neck & loose sleeves. Love the pleated skirts & the yoga waistbands. Great ideas.
I had never thought about buying a thrift-store dress & using the fabric for a different garment until I watched your video. Thank you!
Great idea for doing the pleated skirts. I love the green one. My favourite colour :)

Love the skirts. That's a great technique.
Thank you so much ❤
Beautifully done! I really appreciate your attention to detail.
More great tips. Thank you Karina!
I love all those outfits. You look great in them. Thanks so much for your help

Great thrift flips! I have the cadence pattern and I can think of a number of preloved items that I can use for it. Thanks for the inspiration!
Just can't say enough about all your creations!
Karina, the hounds tooth looks fantastic, I love the sleeve details on the linen as well. I always learn from your videos ❤😊
