Congratulations, Laos! In high school, we were taught in geography that Laos is the only country in Southeast Asia that doesn't have a railway. Now, it's the 2nd country after Indonesia to have an HSR system in the region.
??What r u talking about? LCR started its operation in Dec2021, while the HSR in indonesia only started in 2023, so Laos is not having railway after indonisia gets its hsr. Also, the LCR operates only in 160km/h, meaning it's not being a high speed railway.
Another Great trip, and yeah another trip going abroad. Big curious about comparation of ticket price between flight and this Train on this route, especially between Luang Prabang and Kunming, since most of people disembark at Luang Prabang. I don't know when train in Chinese Territory, the onboard restaurant accepted RMB or already Laotian Kip, but when you entering Laotian Territory, you should exchange your currency, in case ypu need buy somethong onboard. Avoid seat in last row, since some of the train placing it too close to wall making it less recline than front one.
Now we know, if we didn't already, where the inspiration for France's Arche de Triumph really came from -- much more ancient civilization! Thanks very much for this train ride I've heard so much about from TH-cam! No, will never book the last seat, learned that long time ago, also the hard seat way. Thank you for the ride & sights.
I don't know that Laos has Bullet train, it's amazing , our country India couldn't ride Bullet train still now, but these small countries are riding Bullet train, what amazing !
this cr200j train soon will be operated in malaysia connecting kuala lumpur with least develop part of malaysia which also have no rail connection, after the completion in 2027, with line length of 665km, every states in malaysia will be connected by rail
@zozomo2911 Nah, they said the track was designed to support up to 200 km/h only, so the CR200J is enough. It also shared with cargo service just like china laos railway, and since it just connecting rural area, it doesn't need to be that fast, malaysia also planning 350kmh hsr between kuala lumpur and singapore and that will be completely new line with planning to extend it all the way to border of thailand

Since 2013 China's standard high-speed trains have four series: CR450, CR400, CR300 and CR200. There is also a train between Top Speed of 200 km/h (125 mph) with CRH3A-A (CR300BF platform, Winter Olympics) and the second generation CRH6 CINOVA2.0 as well. There are more than 50 models. Covers speeds of 160-400 km/hr.

Malaysia Railways is more likely to purchase CR250 or CR300 EMUs rather than CR200J
