    with you its always power supply , is there any video of your where you found a faulty resistor or capacitor .

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually, most of our videos are mainboard repairs. Recently we have been doing more power supply boards but that's because I wanted to change it up from all the mainboards we have been doing.
      If you take a look at some of the videos from just a few months ago they are still very relevant and are mostly going to be mainboards.

    Great video, love the solder jazz. Any chance we can get links to the music in the description?

    Thanks again for the video. I always enjoy them. I see that you used lead solder rather than lead-free solder. Is there any particular reason for this, especially on the power supply?

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It flows a lot better. I feel like I get a better bond between the PCB and component with it. Also and please correct me if im wrong, but I have been told leaded solder is less likely to get cracked.

      I seen a lot of poor soldiered connections in my day especially on convergence amps of Itachi rear projection TVs. I would normally tap on a board, using the plastic part of a screwdriver to see if I can isolate it better.

      Yeah, this one and a few other plasma sets you can definitely do that. I noticed it's usually the outer legs of the transistors and never the middle one. The middle one has a metal ring inside the hole, I don't know what it's called but when they do that it seems to help reinforce the joint and helps prevent cracking. So why don't they do that on all the joints?
      Does anyone have insight on this or more info?

      @@NicksTVRepair Probably because lead solder melts at relatively lower temperatures, which means it can become liquid more easily during the soldering process, thus promoting better penetration into the microscopic pores and interstices of surfaces. That would make sense that it get a better bond then. Thanks

    Hi Nick, I have a 2018 Samsung QN65Q9FNA has the one connect box. Box model SOC1003N.
    About a week ago TV started turning off on its own then was able to turn it right back on with remote. Did it about 3-5 times over the week. Last night it turned off and won’t turn back on. Red light is on the TV. I unplugged the box for a hour. Held the power button for 1 and 2 minutes. Nothing. I do notice while trying to turn the tv on that the red light will go out for about 10 or so seconds like it got the signal to try and turn on. Then turns back on.
    I’m an Automotive tech and into electronics. I’m decent at making repairs and soldering circuit boards on car modules. I just don’t have a diagram or know where to go with this TV circuit. Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you .

      Sorry I am not very familiar with that model. You could have a bad one connect box, a bad one connect cable or the mainbaord in the TV could be bad. I would recomend trying a new box and one connect cable first. If that doesn't work then perhaps the mainboard in the TV is bad.
      Sorry I can't be of more help I am just not very familiar with that model at this time. If you are local to Tucson I can diagnose it further however.

    Non related question to this exact video, Wanted to ask info on a Hisense TV model 85H6510G, when the power button is pressed to turn on the tv the power board clicks and send power to the tv, so I assume the power board is still good, the screen stays dark and there is a faint picture with the flash light test, but I do see the led light up from the back holes, from there the stand by light starts to blink over 10+ times would that be a main board or back light issue in your opinion ? Thanks in advance.

      What you are describing does sound like LED backlight failure.

    Hey Nick! I have a question I got a free hisense 58rge3 that when I turn on display looks like between black and purplish. No image, but I can hear sound. Tried disconnecting ribbon cables one at a time to see if that worked but the screen remains black/purplish. Never encountered this problem before. Do you think it’s just a bad panel at this point. The guy told me the tv is a year old. Sorry about not being related to this video. Thanks for any input you may have.

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have to say I am not familiar with a black/purplish failure that would include a no picture. Usually when the picture looks purple it's because the LEDs are failing and are emitting a purple color. Simple fix, you replace the LED strips. However combined with no picture either means you have 2 failures or this is something I have never seen before. The no picture could be due to a panel failure, or T-con failure, or mainboard failure. It would be strange for there to be 2 faults however. It might make more sense that you have no picture because the LED strips failed and the original owner tried fixing it and disconnected something and never connected it back or damaged a board internally when trying to diagnose or fix the tv and now you have 2 faults.

      @@NicksTVRepair i know this is a strange one. I have not opened it up will have to do that and check it out. I’m leaning more towards this either being a bad panel, or a software issue. I’ll report back with whatever I find. This is definitely a first one for me. I don’t think it’s the LED as it’s not a purple or blue tint and I have fixed other tvs who’s culprit was the LED but this one is different. Thank you for all your info I really appreciate it and thank you for all your videos they have helped me tremendously.

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I definitely would open it up, recheck everything and make sure the original owner didn't do anything to it. Not sure if you know who the original owner is, but if you can contact them, I would ask them if they tried replacing anything and also if there were intermittent faults with the TV before it fully broke down. The more clues you can get from them the easier it will be to figure out the issue.

      Hello,
      I am sorry but I don't know if I fully understand your question. Are you asking for the pairing software that goes on the flashdrive to pair the mainboard to the TV? If so I have that available in the link below:
      mega.nz/folder/QelVkYBD#GnJn8J9MhrQyvf1NqmHjKg
      If you are asking for the files needed to program the eMMC, those I can not share.
