Hello! It's April, and my three months of dreaming and planning what projects I'd like to tackle in my home this year have drawn to a close. I've chosen some ambitious projects for the rest of the year and I'm really excited to share all of them with you and get your input and ideas. First up, our house needs window treatments!
In today's video I'm sharing inspiration I have for Swedish Blinds and Roman Shades, London Shades, and swags.

I’ve sewn many of my window treatments in past homes. I like the 8:51 shades for your living room. Lining them would help with insulation and prevent the fabric from fading.

I vote for London shades. I would definitely go with a print. I suggest keeping it more monochromantic so not to compete with patterns already at play in the room AND with the lovely window trim. I really like two mustard yellow patterns on your fabric mood board. The one just left of the center with the white background and flowers and the one on the far right with the mustard background and white floral print. I think the light background looks more casual and the mustard background more formal.
The pink paint colors are so pretty! Maybe the darker shade of pink in the space with the most light and the lighter in the other. I caught a glimpse of the piano in your living room. Your home is so wonderfully eclectic---a gallery wall would look awesome above the piano!

I think the London shade would lovely. A website I saw recommended them for windows between 36-50 inches. Do you remember matchstick blinds that were popular a number of years ago? They might look nice behind a fabric curtain/valance for a layered look. They are much more reasonable than the wooden blinds and relatively easy to cut to fit the window.
I love the idea of a pink hue for the hallway and living room. We just painted the top quarter of our dining room FB Setting Plaster. The bottom is wallpaper. I’m thinking of using it in our little foyer too (replacing FB Ball Green).
And definitely pattern in the curtains/shades. Maybe something with a neutral base but some texture in the pattern? Something like the first example you showed of the historical house would be gorgeous.

matchstick blinds are so classic. I love them! I don't really think I need them both, but now I'm going to consider...the textures would be so interesting. I'm glad to hear you like the FB setting plaster. thank you for the input!

Thank you for the research you do on your videos. I really like the diagonal window treatment and I like the entryway pink, but you really need to just follow your heart and follow your gut and go with what you think. Looks the best. Thanks for the fun research you do.

Oh, the windows and that wood panel are beautiful. I have always made my own curtains because I really enjoy sewing, and I like my curtains to start 4 inches from the ceiling. Can't usually find store- bought panels in the lengths I need to achieve the look I want. Also, I've always loved toile fabrics but am leaning more towards english floral prints these days. But they are hard to find in a price range I feel comfortable with, but truly, I just haven't found the perfect print I am willing to splurge on.

I know what you mean! wow you must have dramatic, beautiful curtains. I enjoy sewing too. I wish I wasn't such a novice, but I've got the rest of my life to improve so ....😀

    Good evening!
Those windows are something. I just love the character of old homes.
I think the London shade would be so pretty. I would go with a pattern fabric. I agree, one with a neutral background and something with a smallish print. Like the one shade you showed.
I like the light pink in the hallway.
I seem to always be fussing with my windows treatments as well. Now we hung some old windows over my new windows. Just horizontally about 12 inches along the top of the windows. Now I don’t think I like my curtains hanging any more. Aw well. Always cogitating on one thing or another.
    Thank you for sharing.

thank you! the London shades and light pink seem to be the favorites. your windows - interesting! does it give the old window effect? It sounds pretty! Yes, its always one thing and another. It's fun tho. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be truly finished tho 😀 I seem to dwell in possibiity so much.

If the swags are high up above the window and the jabots hang down is nice, but they don’t move. You would still need curtains over the windows and it would look too heavy. London shades I think would look best. Do suggest you line them! My vote is for pink ground in your hallway. Thank you for sharing. Love seeing what you do. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I am so intimidated to make my one shades or blinds because my sewing skills are not the most advanced, but purchasing them already made would be way out of budget. Following along to get that nudge I need to dive on and just do it!😊

The first time I made Roman shades I was terrified to cut the “ good” fabric. This was pre internet so I had a library book and my mamaw. I found clearance fabric at Walmart for 50 cents a yard and used that to make the pattern and work out how to make them. Any mistakes were corrected before the real ones. If you want any tips I would be glad to help.

I like the London shades, those would look amazing in those windows! What if you pick out fabric in colors and print you love for the slipcovers and curtains, then base the wall colors off of that?

Where I live, near London those are known as 'Austrian Blinds', or colloquially, 'frilly knickers' blinds. Beware, they catch dust and other
nasties in the folds. I'll try your Swedish blinds for our kitchen/breakfast room they seem a good economical solution to a room with many
    windows - thankyou.

Don’t go for ointment ,there’s an old type ointment called Germolene which is a bright pink ,I don’t think that would look good ,the light pink looks lovely.

that's probably what it is named for, knowing Farrow&Ball! I think they have another pink called Calamine. Thank you!
