Hi neighbor, I live in the Yukon and I too have a 2005 Savana.. it is already gutted, and I am trying to find the best way to go about it for my 5 years old son and myself.
I will be watching your built.. I am not too sure where to start, but I guess researching is the forst step.
Sending some warmth and love about the loss of your dog.
    And safe travels, always.

I would look up videos by Greg Virgoe (insulation) and Will Prowse (electrical)

Everything else about the Van is from watching a lot of videos. A lot of videos. Choosing what fits you. Good luck.

Sounds like you deal with cold and we deal with heat. Working on the van, it is often well into the 100's. Love watching your build. Not sure what year your Savana is but on our 2020 Express, cutting the door panels out was a nightmare or should I say is still a nightmare. Nothing is flat. I am ending up building a base in sections that will be underneath the 3/16" plywood that will cover. Yours turned out very nice. Love the pups too.

Our van is a 2005, on our “hot” days, the insulation and the pocket doors keep the heat out of the van interior. The best way I found out for the door panels is to make cardboard templates. That helps determine the hole placement of the anchor screws. Sadly our dog passed away in October. She would have been 13 in December. She was the reason we built the van. Hard to share a small tent with a 120lbs dog. Lol

@@AlaskaCamperVan I will try the cardboard template route. So sorry to hear of her passing. We lost our big yellow 100lb lab in 2016 but it seems like it was yesterday. She wasn't much of a camper as we couldn't even get her inside our camper at the time. She liked her home and only quick car rides. Thank you again.

You have an awesome build layout! Question, is your van regular length cab or the extended cab? I'm thinking about duplicating you layout with some.

It’s an extended. It’s a good layout. I’ve seen only one other video that was similar. Good luck.
