Thanks for the shout out Ords! Your reaction to Black Hole was the same as mine - just wow. How do they do it!?!! I was lucky enough to see the Day of Maid show in Tokyo in May 2024. THEY OPENED THE SHOW with Black Hole! Let me repeat - they opened with this!! Absolutely flawless and mind blowing. Thanks for the awesome reaction.
These ladies can play ANYTHING, but not only that…..They play ANYTHING better than ANYBODY! Best band this good ol’ earth has ever seen. Great reaction!! I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤
One thing many of us "Old Heads" enjoy about Band-Maid, is the familiar sound. It's modern nostalgia, harkening back to the music from our youth. Whether our youth was in the 70's, 80's or 90's. They have a bit of that sound in their music. Tweaking our memories, reminding us of the music we listened to when were younger. And as we listen to them more and more, we find more and more of our memorable musical history being incorporated into their sound. It is both comforting, and highly enjoyable. In Manners, the use of the horns, reminds me of groups like The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Lighthouse, Climax Blues Band and others. THEN, Then, we go into Black Hole. Black Hole is a hard driven thrash metal assault on our ears and other senses that reminds many of us of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Slade and many other groups. I can't remember the name, but there is an old German/Dutch band from I think the late 1970's, I think their lead singer was from Greece, but Black Hole reminds me of a couple of their songs, and they were a metal/punk band. It is this familiarity, that makes so many of us love the Ladies and their music. And why we say, they don't fit in other genres, they ARE their own Genre. And the Genre is Band-Maid.
If it was just the familiarity, I wouldn't have loved them as much. It's their difference and quirk that I love. The Warning can cover the "familiar" department super well.
Another great one. This two-for is a killer combo. Had a feeling you would be grooving with Manners and then ask what the hell is happening with Black Hole.🤣 Currently their fastest bpm song in the discography. Conversation between Akane and Kanami: Kanami: Ah-chan, how fast can you play? Akane: About 170 bpm. Kanami: OK...next song is 220 bpm. 🤭 Akane: 😱
It's been a few years since BAND-MAID and MUSIC merged in my mind, and when I say I'm going to listen to MUSIC I always choose BAND-MAID and when I say I'm going to listen to BAND-MAID it's because I feel like listening to MUSIC, because any song, of their more than 100 own creations and their first ones created for them can be the best song I've ever heard in my life and I'm 65 years old, BAND-MAID are not a Rock and Roll Band, they are another story, they are much more than that and Manners explains us very well what they are made of, he defines their rules and in Black Hole they show that there is absolutely nothing that can be put in front of them. You can't put barriers to a Tsunami and that's what BAND-MAID is for me, a Tsunami that took away everything I had stored in my memory leaving behind only what I had most deeply rooted. No BAND-MAID, no Life ¡¡¡¡¡ BANDMAIDHEAD !!!!!
Giovanni is another song that goes foot to the floor, I'm sure Kanami plays more notes in that song than exist in all the Beatles songs put together. From the same album as Black Hole, and similar prog experiment. There's a live version from an online show on the Instrumental Maid channel. The most eye opening thing is to listen to the instrumental version on the Instrumental Maid channel to hear just how much Kanami is doing. All of the BM content on that channel has the monetization claimed by Band-Maid's label so it is less thefty to use those videos than other bootleg channels.
"BLACK HOLE " is my favorite song by BAND-MAID, followed closely by "Manners" and "Corallium." The first time I heard "BLACK HOLE," I was like, "WTF Just Happened!" I have listened to their album "Unseen World" well over 400 times. For over a year after its release, I listened to it at least once a day, and I still listen to it a couple of times a week. I have been enjoying your reactions very much! 🤘😎🤘
This just shows the full range of their musical capabilities. Pretty sure that the screech in the middle of Manners was Miku and not the guitar. Black Hole was a test piece from Kanami to push everyone to their limits on the Unseen World album. Glad this duo made you so happy- great job. Good job Kanami didn't expect The Warning to play something like Black Hole for the collaboration.
Talent and diverse capabilities defines Band-Maid and their music. From funk groove to frenetic, high-energy punk, what a change in between two songs. They defy genres and simply make them their own with Band-Maid Music.
First time I heard it I just couldn't keep up with Black Hole but after a few repeated listenings it emerged as a top 5 for me, joining about ten other Band-Maid songs. You said it, they get it. I know Kanami has a classical music background so maybe I'm reading too much into it, but this song reminds me of Brahms 4th symphony, first movement. You can especially hear it in Miku's soaring harmonies above the driving chaos. Anyway, I love this song. I like Manners, too for it's 70s funky blues groove, but Black Hole sucks you into a whole new world of music and spits you out the other side, dazzled and disoriented wearing a huge smile of wonder.
Heard you repeat that rhythm guitar part on Black Hole. The picking triplet pattern there is HARD! Miku showing her development there and with the little bend solo on Manners. Manners shows their ability to groove. Black Hole shows their ability to play at breakneck speed. No way to compare, they're both great, in entirely different ways. Rock on, Ords!
Very nice reaction to two of my favourites. Just wait for at least two others of my favourites, I still seek revenge and Rinne. More joy for you promised! 😀😎
Different, Rinne, also great songs. On the other side of the coin I hope you find Sayonakidori and Puzzle acoustics and you still have to taste Band-Maiko.
Did you notice the "Masters and Princesses" shout-out at about 6:14? Great songs, they just kill ever song. Black hole is incredible!! Thanks for the reaction.
There can't be too many current bands that can write and perform a great song like "Manners", which is SO damn good for what it is, and also write and perform a song so different from it like "Black Hole", which is AMAZING for what it is. Black Hole, in particular, is like if you took the musicianship of Rush, amped it up with a heavy dose of Megadeath, and slathered the vocal harmonies of Abba all over it. From that description you'd think it would be a mess... until you heard it was Band Maid doing it. Then you'd know it's obviously going to be something special. Songs like Black Hole, from the Unseen World album, are where some of the fanbase jumped off the train or at least were a little disillusioned. My wife loves their songs like Manners, and many of the earlier songs, but some of the much more dense, chaotic-sounding, songs not so much. For me it just made me love them even more!
Thank you..Thank you for this reaction! I have been asking for this reaction…you finally did it. Manner’s opening highlighted the best rhythm section in rock! This MV shows these ladies versatility from a cool funky song to a melt your face! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO,
Both songs are from the album "Unseen World". The band didn't get to tour UW because of the pandemic so most of the _live_ debuts for the songs were at the online okyujis. Both songs are great but it took _balls_ to play "Blackhole" live. Thanks for the reaction!
Comparing "Manners" and "Black Hole" is almost like comparing apples and oranges...except it's the same band...and it SOUNDS like the same band. I guess only an "impossibly hard rockin' maid band" can pull that off. But HOW they do that is the question. My answer is "42". 🤣🕊
Perfect example of contrast in the Band-Maid way. From calm and powerful classic rock to explosive but totally controlled chaos. They played Black Hole on 11/26/24 at Yokohama Arena after an amazing solo from Akane. Yo, man. Thanks
BLACK HOLE at 220bpm, not bad, eh? I like MANNERS as well but, BLACK HOLE is what I like to play for my thrash buddies. I guess you have a good idea why BAND-MAID is and has been my #1 group since 2014. Great reaction, thank you.
If you told 1980s version of me, that my favorite rock band would be 5 Japanese women dressed as maids, I wouldn't have believed it. But, here we are and I'm so glad they are here.
Ords blackhole , its definitely there heaviest song , think mincho wrote it after herman lee told her dragonfroce fastest song was 225 bpm , mincho was ok were gonna do 235bpm n try to kill akane po! Its almost as if everybody is playing a different song
Great reaction! I like Manners as a song better but the live of Black Hole is just like 🤩 🤯. Saiki says “are you ready? Let’s go”. I look for a seatbelt 😂😂
WARNING! It's bad MANNERS to stop listening to Band-Maid because you'll feel starved for musical excellence and joy and fall into a BLACK HOLE of emptiness... probably! 🤔 Thx, Ords!
Another reactor (can’t remember who) said once : « I’m just so happy now », listening to the maids. That defines best their music, IMO. Manners and black hole are top tier songs. Not in my top 10 but not far from it.
Which one is better? Have you not learned by now that it is as impossible to rate B-M songs? It's like to try to say what child of yours you love the most. They are all different, but as good!
Just a suggestion, but if you could turn the Gain on your mic down, drop the Compression Ratio by a third and cut the Release time in half, I think it would help.

Yes, thanks to KN Goodwin.🙂👌

"Like nobody else", Exactly!
“Does Band Maid have range?”
Yes, they have all of it.
These ladies can play ANYTHING, but not only that…..They play ANYTHING better than ANYBODY! Best band this good ol’ earth has ever seen. Great reaction!! I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤

Manners is cool bluesy rock. In Black Hole they threw a saddle on Chaos and took him for a ride.
The best and healthiest addiction going, BAND-MAID what a fcken band Po 👍🍻

Nothing like a little dose of *Black Hole*
Such a sweaty track 😅😅

Manners is top tier Band Maid! dbl ♥ definitely old school rock vibes and I'm here for it! 😎

Black Hole, absolutely. It's my second or third fave from Band Maid.

Vocal harmonies of ABBA? How about vocal harmonies like Van Halen or the B52’s.
@@ziggyphotoAbba still sounds more accurate in my mind than B-52’s, but both are better than Van Halen. Male vocals?!

On a *Herman Li* interview *Kanami* asked for the fastest song that *DragonForce* maid and she said BRB *Black Hole* _(No yang to my yin?)_ 😢
"Awkward" live ❤️
Best exaple of the depth of their music, like bookends, from funk to speed progressive rock. Thanks for continuing to react to Band-Maid.
Exactly!!
Most of their songs is a MISA solo. Wait till you dabble with their Chriatmass acustic session. MISA's bass playing is ridiculous.
Comparing "Manners" and "Black Hole" is almost like comparing apples and oranges...except it's the same band...and it SOUNDS like the same band. I guess only an "impossibly hard rockin' maid band" can pull that off. But HOW they do that is the question. My answer is "42". 🤣🕊

220 BPM, Po! Akane did a freestyle solo into "Blackhole" (#25 of 33) at Yokohama Arena. Then, she did her post-workout cool down with Dice/Hate? 🦍🍌
Blue Classic Rock Vs Progressive Rock . Yeah !!!
How? HOOWW...?!?! Best reaction to Band-Maid!
You humble me! Thank you!!
Yes. Black Hole is mind blowing stuff. :)
You know what? I don't have to choose which I like better. I can just enjoy both! lol
i think on black hole they just went... lets just go as fast as we can go.

Tank you for your reaction. I've been studying Band-Maid for almost a year now and I must say that for me Black Hole stands out as their masterpiece.
You are welcome! So Far maybe my favorite!
