Hi Ords. Thank you for your continued enthusiasm for Band Maid. Your reactions are so much fun and I look forward to them each day. I might need therapy when the 30 days are over!! If you are able to squeeze in Manners + Black Hole (it’s a double live video from the Pandemic) or After Life OMV, that would be epic!! Keep rocking!
@@ReactAttack90 happy to do it. I have respect for people putting in time and money to do these reactions and spread the word and share the emotions. This is the positive side of social media and we need more of it. And we all have tough days and this community can support each other!!
The entire album that this is from, "Just Bring It" is a masterpiece, it often runs on repeat in my car for weeks, it never gets old, like gum that never loses its flavour.
All the pieces fit perfectly! Miku finds Kanami, definitely fits. Kanami brings in Akane, another piece slides right into place. Akane calls MISA! MISA! MISA!, the puzzle is done? Miku evaluates and gives up the lead for the good of the bands direction, looks for the missing piece. They find Saiki. Puzzle complete. And there you go...BAND_MAID!!!! Can't wait for the chain reaction to see your reaction to Puzzle Acoustic Live. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
I swear Kanami just solo'd the entire song...(again). But everyone's favorite pigeon just being that literal puzzle piece that holds the music together and then her perfect vocals are unbelievably perfect Ord. You are correct. Can't wait for you to melt to the acoustic version.
Puzzle isn't really obscure. It's a lot of people's favorite Band-Maid song. Though, part of the magic of the band is that if you ask ten different fans, you're likely to get ten different favorites, as opposed to a lot of other bands that have the one or two standout songs. It's a testament to their high standard of quality for their releases. It's a common theme in Band-Maid songs to just have a positive message about trying your best and chasing your dreams and stuff, but Puzzle is unusual in that it's got pretty emotionally charged lyrics, and it gives Saiki a chance to flex the expressiveness of her voice, which I think is a strong suit for her, relative to other singers who might outshine her on technicality. The way that it's written, where the English bits are pretty isolated from the Japanese lines also lets Saiki get a particularly good flow. Usually English words are sprinkled into the middles of lines and it can trip her up a little.
there are some of their songs that just make my heart swell and my eyes water, this is one of them, they will never know who i am, but i feel pride for them like they were my little sisters
When I say I can't make a list of favorite Band-Maid songs, I'm just telling the truth. Because there are too many. Puzzle is a masterpiece among others.
I usually just ask everybody to remember to breathe on this one, especially Saiki. But since you're doing the acoustic next, I'll remind you to bring clean tissues.
Now this was fun. Loved your reaction to Mincho's solo. And you're right because the riff, then the build up and the climax into the awesome awesome solo is just too good for mere words.
You got it! I was arms up and cheering with you after that solo! 🤘🏽 One of my absolute favorite Kanamincho solos. I’ve been know to describe it as a jet ✈️ fighter takeoff. Like you said, instead of a thousand soulless notes, Kanami writes her solos as part of the entire composition. Nothing wasted; everything gained. Great observation about Band Maid variety, too. It would be baffling to think how such wildly different songs could make a cohesive album! When you actually do listen to their albums, I think the glue that holds them together is tone and feel. There’s a distinct “Just Bring It” vibe in “Don’t you tell ME,” “Puzzle,” and “Moratorium,” (the first three tracks) And there is something else going on with their “Conqueror” album in songs like “Bubble” and “Blooming.” The beehive gets released on the tracks of “Unleash!!!!!” Kanami’s Eventide Harmonizer gets a workout in that one.
It "WAS" Obscure, until the Ladies released the new version from TGT. The old version, or the one that almost every reactor and fan knew was from Studio Coast, that was removed, when the Ladies switched to their current record label. It IS available in certain places on YT, and if you can find it, I think you might want to watch it, just so you can see/hear, the Ladies consistency. And remember, the original is from 2017, the newest is from 2023. Also the Acoustic version is probably the one from Zepp Tokyo in 2018, there IS a newer version of Puzzle acoustic, but only as an Audio only file.
Thanks for the fun reaction. Kanami wrote like 5 riffs that could have been five songs. Definitely a top 3 or 4 Band Maid song for me. Check out the acoustic version. It might make you cry.
This band is the missing piece of the puzzle that I am, that I didn't know I was missing back then. 🧩 And this song, regardless which version(!), is certainly one of their most outstanding. ❤🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊
Was lucky enough to be at this concert. Puzzle is a masterpiece in all its forms. Looking forward to your review of the acoustic version. If it doesn’t bring a tear to your eye you’re just not human.
It's not as obscure song from them - it's actually one that's constantly mentioned in fans TOPS - along with "Moratorium" and "Blooming" etc. one of my all-time favorite songs (not just by Band-Maid). For me - it's perfect. And lyrically one of Mikus best. It's about being in a relationship with a guy who is already in an other relationship. Wanting to be with him. And basically the realization - he will never leave the other woman... because *you* are the other woman, *you* will always be 2nd. But he will not break up with you either.... And you just can't because you still hope, but actually know better, lying to yourself also... A lot Miku lyrics are kind empowering, encouraging "just do it" (like "DICE" or "Warning") themed - "Puzzle"s are not like that at all XD But it's actually kinda funny - Miku never blames "the others" (the "guy" in this case), it's mostly "it's my fault/only myself to blame for it" on songs with similar theme as Puzzle.... where Saikis lyrics in "HATE?" are basically straight "oh hell no - F' YOU!"
If you're now a fan, they have a full (paid) acoustic concert available on their website for the next month or so. You'll need to be a member of the fan club before you can buy tickets, and the total cost will still be $50 or so. DO NOT MISS THIS CONCERT IF YOU'RE A FAN. (Also please don't post the concert or any reactions of paid material),
Not the first time I'm saying this. Not sure who's leading the charge in your choice of songs selections, but if they're not mentioning I'll, Page, Afterlife , Manners or Time. Then they're doing you dirty., my guy.

Miku's vocals on this track are fantastic
One thing I love about this song (and the video) is Miku's Zemeitas gets to growl.
...and the rhythm section does rhythm section things... Ah MISA MISA MISA! (and Akane
This song made me an instant fan back in 2017.

Top five Maid songs for me! 🍺🥴🤘🏻
I realized just how great a writer, composer, arranger and guitarist Kanami is after I heard the acoustic version.
Another one of their masterpieces IMHO
Never ever ever apologize for rewatching a Kanami solo🎸🙂
Absolutely man!

PUZZLE is one of BAND-MAID's big hits.
I think this is their most underrated song. It’s got everything but a Misa solo, if it had that it’d be top 5.
Saiki does an amazing job conveying the emotions of unrequited love with her singing, IMO. In both versions.
💯
Well. . . Another rock banger by our Maids. These five women are the protectors of rock!!!!!!
