    Kudos for achieving such a fine result in 1/72. I have this in Tamiya's 1/48 version and couldn't imagine me even attempting to build it in 1/72. Yes, older eyes and fingers.

    Thank you for the excellent tutorial. The black basing technique is very effective and the blending of colors created great tonal variation.....and who would have thought flat flesh! Best wishes from Australia!

    I've taken to using the white sqiggle/fill method on my models and it gives such an excellent depth. My 1/72 Airfix P-40B in desert scheme came out a real gem because of it. I might've been model building 20 years, but learning a new method to enhance the finish is always a win win outcome.

    I'm sure this will sound weird, but I find these videos very soothing. Especially with the music at the end.
    My mom died a week ago today, so I'm kind of messed up. I've been focusing on my models as a bit of a distraction, as well as watching build videos like this.
    I'm amazed at the detail you're able to give 72nd scale planes. I'm hoping I can apply these techniques on my 32nd scale Dauntless, successfully. Keep up the great work.

    Great video as always! i like the fact that you show japanese aircraft other than the classic Zero. I build mainly japanese aircraft, but you don't see them too much around..
    i'm starting a triple build of the three "cousins", theKi-61, MC 202 and Bf 109 E, but i will mix them up: the 202 in japanese markings, the 61 in german and the 109 in italian ones.
    Your videos will be a great help!

      I really enjoyed building Tamiya's KI61 Hein. It has this amazing and difficult camo that took me 4 summer nights to complete all the green squiggles. It is part of my growing collection of Japanese aeroplanes and I want to build this one next.

    Strange. Although there's the 37mm gun barrel on the roof, I didn't notice from the video whether you built the gun parts within the rear cockpit. Instead there seemed to be a camera on the floor. Correct me if I'm wrong. but it seems that instead of building the correct Ki-46-III-KAI nightfighter (the only armed Dinah version) rear cockpit you used the parts for the Ki-46-II reconnaissance version.

    Just perfect! Belki modellerinizi ileride mermi izleriyle, hasar almış parçalarla donatırsanız yani savaştan çıktığı belli olan bir kuş yaparsanız sizin elinizde etkileyici olabileceğini düşünüyorum. Diğer model kanallarında bugüne kadar yapanı görmedim :) hem yeni bir içerik üretirsiniz hem de değişiklik olur. Tabi ki sizin kararınız abi modelleriniz her türlü güzel :)

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Merhaba, evet görmemeniz normal zira referansınız yoksa veya canlandırma yapmıyorsanız pek tercih edilen bir durum değil. Yapılmış olanların da çok başarılı olduğunu söyleyemem. Zira plastik çok kalın ve o etkiyi vermiyor. Ancak o paneli kazıyıp, yerine metal bir levha koyup, onun üzerinde başarılı bir efekt yakalamak mümkün. Kanalın ulaşmasını beklediğim bir nokta var. Oraya ulaştığında yapacağım çılgın şeyler var ve dolapta hazırda bekliyor. Bu kadarını diyeyim ;)

    You are a great artist and a great teacher!!! Thank you so much for your uploads. BTW as I spend hours waching your videos and trying to improve myself a lot of questions appear :
    1. You almost never use surfacer. Do you think Tamiya or Gunze colors bond on plastic as strong as surfacer ?
    2.Do you wash the plastic before painting ? and if yes with what ?
    3.Your 1st layer of paint usually is thinned with ISO do you think if diluted with ISO it bonds better than if diluted with Mr.Leveling thinner? Whats the difenance in properties of paint if thinned with ISO or Mr.Leveling Thinner ?
    4. After using Aclad metallics do you seal them before painting acrilics on top ? or before spaying hairspray for chipping ( Corsair video)
    5. Do you use decal softeners?
    6. What varnish do you use before panel lining?
    7.How do you stick painted parts on painted surfaces with Tamiya glue ??? Do you scratch the are to be glued ?
    OK ...ok I have 100s of questions and i am getting stupid . 1000 thanks for the uploads again. Looking Forward for your next project

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Giannis, Thank you very much!
      1. No they are not strong as a primer. I recommend using Mr Surfacer primers before painting but it's not necessary if you can handle to complete model without damage to painted surface.
      2. I don't wash new or modern kits. I only wash short run or resin kits with PBW but any oil remover would be great which you use in kitchen.
      3. I use IPA beacuse it's cheap. That's the only advantage over hobby thinners.
      4. nope
      5. Yes, Tamiya Stron and Microsol is my favorite.
      6. I always use X-22
      7. It's MEK in the Tamiya bottle ;)

    Awesome work as usual. One quick question. Is there a rule for choosing leveling thinners vs alcohol as the thinning medium?

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer alcohol for thinning Tamiya and Gunze acrylics. It's cheap and I don't like the smell lacquer thinners. I always use highly protective masks but room smells a few hours long :) I use lacquer for thinning enamel and lacquer based paints

    Perfect Build! Flawless. Kanalı ilk gördüğümde PLASMO'nun bile yorumda tebrik ettiğini gördüm o kadar başarılı ki modeller. Bu kadar iyi bir boyama ve detaylandırmayı hemen hemen hiçbir kanalda görmedim. Sorum şu hocam, bu boya/alkol/yapıştırıcı/dolgu/decal sıvıları vs. malzemeleri Türkiyede temin etmek zor mu? Bu modelleme işine bende girmek istiyorum 18 yaşında öğrenciyim ama ne eğitimi alabileceğim bir yer var ne başka bir şey duydum bu işle ilgili. Çalışmak için uygun bir atölye var ama ne malzemeler alarak başlamam gerek hiç bilmiyorum.

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Merhaba Öykü, yorumun için teşekkürler. Malzeme temini hiç zor değil ancak ben başladığımda bir dolar, bugünki altı sıfır atılmış paramız ile yaklaşık 0.97 kuruşa denkti ve küçük bir bütçe ile her şeyi alabiliyordunuz. Şimdi ise tam bir atölye kurmak için küçük bir servet harcamak gerekli neredeyse. Bir öğrenci için önereceğim şey Revell marka ve Kore kalıp maketlerini yaparak başlaman. Mesela 1/72 Tornado ve F-4F Phantom gibi. Quick Kits kanalı fırça ve basit malzemelerle güzel modeller yapıyor. Başlangıç için o seviyede devam etmeni tavsiye ederim. Baktın sıkılmadan devam ediyorsun ve beş, on model bitirdin, o zaman sonrasını konuşuruz ;) Malzeme temini içinse Hobbytime ve Hobbymodels sitelerini tavsiye ederim. Boya olarak Vallejo fırça serisi, kırtasiyeden çeşitli fırçalar, Tamiya yapıştırıcı, sprey parlak ve mat vernik yeterli olacaktır. Eğitim için TH-cam yeterlidir ve hatta mükemmel bir kaynaktır, Başarılar!

    • @oyku.akbulut
      @oyku.akbulut 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Çok teşekkürler hocam. Fırça konusunda şu sorum var benim model deneyen bir arkadaşım modeli fırçayla boyasında boyanın homojen dağılmadığını gördüm. Fırçanın çekiliş yönüne göre ve bazı noktalarda kalın/damla boya izleri çıkıyor. Bunlar ustalıkla atlatılabilir mi yoksa airbrush şart mı ?

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Öncelikle bu bir hobi, hiç bir şey şart değil. Dilediğiniz gibi yapabilirsiniz. İleri seviye modeller yapmak istiyorsanız ki size hobiye giriş için asgari şartları önerdim. Daha sonrasını bir kaç model bitirdikten sonra düşünürsünüz. İlk modelde takılacağınız konu fırça boyasının homojen olması değil, tesviye ve montajı düzgün yapmanız olmalıdır. Önerdiğim boyalar, tecrübe edinildiğinde fırça izi bırakmayan boyalardır. Kolay gelsin.

    Excuse my ignorance, but I've noticed on a lot of your videos you use MLT or IPA when thinning different colours. Is this because the produce a different sheen or some other reason?

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With IPA, you can apply more translucent layers. MLT is more suitable for sharp-edged lines. Also IPA for all acrylics, MIT for glossy acrylics and all lacquers.

    Hi, quick question, sometimes you use MLT others you use IPA, why?

    • @Scaleaton

      It depends on what paint I am using lacquer based or water based. by the way lacquer thinner works on both.

      No, I use IPA for both. I have Tamiya acrylics, they are water soluble too. I only use lacquer thinner with Tamiya X-22. Because it's must for a perfect finish.

      Hi, I converted a Ikea lamp to camera mount. You can find some videos on TH-cam how to do that.

    I wish you wouldn't speed the film up when you are modifing pieces as we can not see what you are doing.
    These videos are not what you would call instruction videos, as there is no instruction at all .more like "look at me ,look what I can do!!!👎
