Absolut of perfection really incredible I hope one day I can reach this level! and I work hard for it! Especially at the level of the paint and it is effect! you have the hello from the southwest of France! ( Amazing really!!
I've been out of the navy for a few decades, that's the best rendition I've ever seen! But isn't that a Crusader, the Corsair had the entire wing assembly lift up in the front. Or did my backwards memory flip things around on me again?
wow, very impressive. not an easy build. detail looks pretty close to perfect. Hasegawa makes great kits. this is one of them built by a master. That is definitely the way they looked.
I was a flight deck troubleshooter aboard USS Nimitz in the early '80s, assigned to VS-24. You've done an amazing job with this Marauder, another one of the squadrons that was on Nimitz. The weathering is spot on (no pun intended).
Man, I built that kit in 1989!! I recall taking thin copper, draping two small pieces over a hemostat, which created a U shape, then attaching them to the canopy to make them appear as handles. I was so proud of my first attempt at improving a kit canopy. Anyways, your kit looks great. Very well done!!
A-maz-ing job as per usual. Every aspect of your vids are full of tips, information and visual effects. The process is perfectly explained without the long dialogue which makes watching your work an absolute pleasure.....no fast forwarding to skip over bits or switching off after 10 minutes of useless talking. I really look forward to your creations and can't wait to see what's next!!
Another Master Piece , I have been modeling for 35 years and every video of yours I watch I learn something new! You sir are truly talented and very educational thank you for sharing so much of this hobby we love so much!
There are people who do modeling and then there's artists who go above and beyond what most would consider modeling and you sir are one of those kind of modelers who exhibit talent and skill that takes modeling to a whole new level. Thank you for all your time and effort that goes into making both the models so amazing and also the quality of your video's are so of the best that I've seen here on TH-cam. I really appreciate what you're doing and I hope your channel will continue to grow because more people need to see what really can be done with the modeling process if you have the talent and skills to accomplish it. So please keep up the AWESOME work and I'll keep coming back for more and sharing your video's with as many people as I possibly can. 👊😉👍
A fantastic result on a model of a very competent and special attack aircraft. The A-7 Corsair II was a kind of predecessor to today's mighty A-10 Thunderbolt II, which actually flew for the first time in 1972. The concept was definitely correct and very successful :)
You have put a crazy amount of work & detail into this build & have made a fairly normal kit & turned it into a work of art, hats off to you & you have a new subscriber.
Absolutely brilliant, you have such a great talent; you're making me want to pick up my brushes again! One of these was my first ever Hasegawa kit and I loved it. It is still one of the best kits out there, certainly for the Corsair. Thanks again
I think you're builds are great but what I like most of your videos are the useful tips (small and big) you show on camera: much better than any written explanation!
I loved the cockpit details and the contrast between the beautiful decal app and the musty look of the Corsair II. No wonder why it's known as the S.L.U.F.F.
This is amazing. I will settle for this whilst I dream of an F8 Edit: and if it was an F8 in the process of landing on a carrier with half flaps and the wing fully extended I would shed a tear of pure joy. Just saying
Phenomenal, stunning, beautiful, inspirational. Apologies for waxing lyrical, but these are only a few words that spring to mind regarding this build. No nonsense approach too. Model making as it should be.
I was in VA-82 and we never allowed the planes to look that dirty. When we got into port the line duty section would wash the aircraft and when at sea we would use waterless cleaner or if we could when allowed use water, we would wash the aircraft using water and a cleaning agent. They were kept as clean as possible at sea and land. Corrosion is a big thing with Naval aircraft because of the salt environment at sea. But even on land corrosion is a big problem. Aluminum corrodes easily if not kept clean an well preserved. Even the carbon fiber and aluminum Aircraft are cleaned for same reason CORRSION and looks.
As a former A-7E avionics technician, nice job! The only “realism” suggestion I would like to offer is this: the ball in the l/h forward avionics bay is a LOX bottle and they are always green. Also, you are missing the scuff marks from the flight deck boots that we wear. They would be more prominent along the top of the fuselage.
Hello Rahmi! Nice to have you back! These planes are big... But I always had a soft spot for Crusader and Corsair. Excellent result, working on light colours is as difficult as working on black and you managed to get a convincing appearance.
Hi Radu, thank you! As you mentioned I was worry about weathering this paint scheme. I built this as a test bad for my precious Grand Phoneix 1:48 F3H. I will try to build it in this year.
a classmate of mine was a navy pilot in Vietnam. He was on USS Oriskany...he may have used the Corsair jet. He did something spectacular. He was silent on his time in the navy. We never heard a word.
Good stuff; I might note that I had a college classmate who served on USN carriers in the 1970s as part of the deck crew and they hated the A-7. If you didn't have your wits about you you could get sucked into the engine inlet and my friend and his comrades were lucky to save a man to who almost suffered this fate!
Great job there mate, as one of my ex bosses used to say, 'love your work' and you picked one of my favourite aircraft to build. Keep the great work up.👍👍👍👍
VFA-82 was the sister squadron to VFA-105, they always got the NEW aircraft before us, they were 2nd to last when the navy transitioned to The Hornets. At least into LOT 13 great times i had 105 glad i didn't have to work on those dinosaurs
I'm agreeing with a lot of the other commenters, great job, but I wouldn't have used the resin electronics bays, they didn't look enough better to me for the work they caused. But, I didn't see them in person, you did, and it's your video! And there's no way I'll be trying your post shading method any time soon, I'd mess it up for sure! I'm amazed by your airbrush control. Couple of accuracy things: I believe you have the main wheels too splayed. I think they should be straight up and down even under load. Also, the stripes you have painted on the sidewinders are on the clamps that hold the fuse to the warhead and seeker head, they are shiny bare metal. The yellow stripe would be behind the band you've got painted yellow, it indicates the live high explosive warhead. There would also be a brown stripe farther back on the body of the missile indicating a live rocket motor. I don't know about the black stripe, that depended on which model of sidewinder it was, the one's I'm familiar with didn't have any black stripes. One more thing for what it's worth, the seeker head on sidewinders is anodized green metallic. The shade may be from close to black to olive, but it always has a metallic sheen. I used to load them on F-16s. Oops, I think I see one more thing, the TERs may be mounted back to front. I can't see them well enough to be sure but it looks like the ejector cartridge holders are facing forward, that's the things with cables on them leading from the main body of the rack out to the three bomb stations.
Results are great. But yes, I'm not sure for that replacement of electronic bays. These for cockpit must be used, but rest need only some improvements. However, in the end, it looks perfect, also, your tips with sanding are very useful, and also paint techniques are perfect. Thanks for video, great and difficult model! All the best for You! ;)
Thanks for the feedback. Yes! If I would build it again; I will use only the cockpit set. I agree details are awesome but spending 20+ hours for fitting, sanding etc.
What a great build. Very very nice. I noticed a lot of different techniques, that I didn't see before or thought about. Very helpfull. I'll be spending some more time on your channel. P.S. I just noticed one thing at the end of the video. The bomb racks seems to be the wrong way around. There is a curved wire at the tip of the rack now, that should normally be at the back. Just flip them around 180 ;)
I remember buying a resin cockpit set, gun bays and wheel bays for my He-162 kit. Only used the gun bays in the end because they weren't compatible with one another despite being the same manufacturer. The gun bay corners would interfere with the cockpit corners and wouldn't fit.
I like your technique for masking the black anti glare area. What is the tool and brand name of the device that you used to cut the nice circle on the masking tape?
brilliant craftsmanship!!! do you undertake custom modelling projects of fighter jet models in 1:32 / 1:43 & 1:48 scales for model collectors??? I'm also looking for exquisitely detailed model of the nuclear powered USS John F Kennedy (CV-79) super carrier in 1:18 / 1:32 scale or 1:43 scale & America class amphibious assault ship!!! please advise!!!
As usual another great build! Brings back a lot if memories. Loved working on them. Except when I had to shoot the tube(climb down the intake), to check for loose rivets, damaged fan blades etc. During maintenance that required to start the engine, their was a cover that went over the intake. One day the guys decided to play a joke on me while I was down the intake. They put the cover on making me think they were going to start up the engine. They thought it was hysterical. I had to change my pants. Anyway, love the videos. Was wondering if you can possible do a separate video on pastel weathering? I'm not sure how to keep the pastels on. Seems whatever I put on, I just end up wiping them off! Thanks again as always!
Hi John, thank you very much for your comment. You can see that more detailed explation on my F-14A build log #10 video. th-cam.com/video/Pka0VL6EZ6E/w-d-xo.html
As fir the Aries resin and being worth it I would say it kinda depends on what your looking for. I know the avionics bay on the hase. kit are really good, and can build OOB. However if you want a little more detail in showing off your work then to me yes they are worth it. Aries have always been decent for me even if they coast as much as the model I am building sometimes hehe. I think the biggest improvement with the bay is the doors to it will show a lot more of the structure. Not that you can't scratch build it. Just sometimes I am lazy and just want to spend a little extra money for a better result in the end.
Very well preserved details. WARM CONGRATS !!! BTW, what airbrush you use ? Mine is a NEO CN for Iwata and after me is better than two Iwata HP-CP and a Tamiya trigger HG which i own.
Well done sir! I have a couple of questions: 1) What airbrush model/maker/brand and what air pressure are you spraying when weathering? 2) MEK and Glue? Do you mix the two together? 3) What alcohol based thinner do you use or is it just 92% Alcohol from the pharmacist shop? 4) What brand of Epoxy are you using? I have not seen that brand before.
1. It's GSI Creos PS770 and air pressure about 10-20. 2. Nope, I use %100 MEK. I use old Tamiya bottles only. 3. If Tamiya acrlyic thinner price is no problem for you stick with it. I use alcohol as thinner because it's cheap. Alway prefer medical or food grade alcohols. 4. It's 30 minute epoxy. 2 component resin and hardener. You can find it any hardware store under any brand. Stay away from 5 minutes epoxy.
This is a fantastic model, but was thinking the sidewinder fins look thick for the scale, maybe some scratch versions from thin plasticard?. Nuff respect to you, keep up the good work
Thank you for feedback. I am not happy with that too. Also the wing folding areas, loadout and canopy frames are not equal to detail level of the model. I have to complete it before March.
Wow what a great build, your way of painting and weathering is outstanding, i have the same model still in my stash and you inspired me to start this project soon, thank you so much mate
Easy to say it's worth it, AFTER all the hard work is done - lol! A lot of time and effort went into this, though, with a bunch of tips and techniques thrown in (as always) - great job!!!
Again perfect work my friend! Liked the little tutorial on how to correct apply putty! And also thank you for showing us your dillution of your paint job!
I'm wondering which Hasegawa Weapons Set would be the correct kit for this model ? I'd like to do a weapons load out but not sure of the Hasegawa Weapons A, B, C, D, etc. would be correct for this period build. Thanks for any help on this.
Hi everyone! Here's first video of the year. I know little bit late, I will try to upload a beginner level scale modeling video soon. Cheers!
How long does it take to get to that skill level? also where did you learn
I was waiting for your new video, I am looking forward to seeing another video. Thank you for the new upload
Beautiful model....one problem....your bomb racks are on backwards.
Absolut of perfection really incredible I hope one day I can reach this level!
and I work hard for it! Especially at the level of the paint and it is effect! you have the hello from the southwest of France! ( Amazing really!!
Beautiful model. My squadron in the Navy was the second one to get the A7. A7A actually. Thanks for the memories.
I have built many kits as a child, but you sir take it to another level. You are an artist. Thank you for sharing.
Always the best videos. No useless gabbing, great camera work, tells what colors, PSI, etc. Keep up the great work!
I've been out of the navy for a few decades, that's the best rendition I've ever seen! But isn't that a Crusader, the Corsair had the entire wing assembly lift up in the front. Or did my backwards memory flip things around on me again?
I have only recently come back to modelling so you can call me an ageing beginner, but this is what I aspire to. Fantastic sir.
wow, very impressive. not an easy build. detail looks pretty close to perfect. Hasegawa makes great kits. this is one of them built by a master. That is definitely the way they looked.
Beautiful job! I loved working on the A-7. It was a good plane.
A superlative work, of a professional, leaves us with an open mouth.
I was a flight deck troubleshooter aboard USS Nimitz in the early '80s, assigned to VS-24. You've done an amazing job with this Marauder, another one of the squadrons that was on Nimitz. The weathering is spot on (no pun intended).
I was a member of the marauders , when the squadron changed to fa-18c's
I've watched several of your videos multiple times. They are a joy to watch. Excellent, excellent building!! Thank you!!
Man, I built that kit in 1989!! I recall taking thin copper, draping two small pieces over a hemostat, which created a U shape, then attaching them to the canopy to make them appear as handles. I was so proud of my first attempt at improving a kit canopy.

Thanks a lot! It will be a "beginner type" video. Building and weathering the Tamiya 1/48 He162 without any airbrushing techniques or skills.
Another Master Piece , I have been modeling for 35 years and every video of yours I watch I learn something new! You sir are truly talented and very educational thank you for sharing so much of this hobby we love so much!

Giving up kit making now - I'll just sit and watch you all day!!!! I was literally waiting for that to take off, much appreciated.
Excellent video.... and no harsh or off putting music!
I don't remember them looking this good in person. Amazing job!
Using water when cutting or sanding the resin is a great tip. I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you.
That’s an amazing model! You deserve so many more subscribers for your great work
Haven't seen anyone used pastel chalk for weathering in a while. Nice old school technique. I loved weathering using chalk.
ΟΚ this one was EXCELLENT. Recently I did an F-4, dragged me again into this rabbithole. I enjoy seeing proficient artisans like you doing their thing
Nice, Nice, Nice...!
We had that same Squadron on the USS America CVA-66 back in the early '70s, I remember the markings well.
PERFECT PRESENT AND CAMERA IS CLEARED .
This is amazing. I will settle for this whilst I dream of an F8
Edit: and if it was an F8 in the process of landing on a carrier with half flaps and the wing fully extended I would shed a tear of pure joy. Just saying
Phenomenal, stunning, beautiful, inspirational. Apologies for waxing lyrical, but these are only a few words that spring to mind regarding this build. No nonsense approach too. Model making as it should be.
Thanks for your video. I have built this model myself 3 times. The cockpit of Aires is already mandatory in this model.
Fantastic work as always. I like that you've made it weathered, but not way over the top. Well done
I was in VA-82 and we never allowed the planes to look that dirty. Let me add that was in the mid 70's
Damn fine work!!!!! Also, you have very steady hands!!! You must not drink coffee. Excellent control of the airbrush and the detail paint brush.
Canadian viewer. Awesome job. Thanks for the soft line taping tip, etc.
Fantastic build. I miss this era of USN aircraft, there were some beautiful schemes.
Perhaps your best builds yet.........
Amazing A-7 ! Congratulations
AWESOME build man. Very nicely done... one of my favorite Cold War birds
Hello Rahmi!
Nice to have you back!

Very nice video and a good comparison of the aftermarket parts with the kit.
A bit late to the party, but thanks to you pastel weathering has finally been made clear to me! Thanks!
VFA-82 was the sister squadron to VFA-105, they always got the NEW aircraft before us, they were 2nd to last when the navy transitioned to The Hornets. At least into LOT 13 great times i had 105 glad i didn't have to work on those dinosaurs

FANTASTIC Job buddy!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗
Fantastic job, as on all your videos. Bravo!
May I ask you one short question? How did you paint the air intake after sanding?
Once again, you have turned mud into GOLD! Lovely work, from what looks like a rather challenging kit. Great job! 👍🏻👏🏻😄
it looks awesome! thank you again for sharing your excellent work! GO NAVY
Thank you Gabriel!
This was a pleasure to watch.Master work.
Yet another fantastic build, the extra details and weathering are second to none, eagerly waiting for the next miracle 👏 👏
When I was in the Navy i was in va-82 that later turned into vfa-82 , I was a jet engine mechanic
Really nice.like the fading/bleaching effect.
Very nice build. Have a few Hasegawa A-7s in the stash. Have built the hobbyboss kit which is very nice 😃👍
I remember buying a resin cockpit set, gun bays and wheel bays for my He-162 kit. Only used the gun bays in the end because they weren't compatible with one another despite being the same manufacturer. The gun bay corners would interfere with the cockpit corners and wouldn't fit.
Once again great job, I have to agree with you, is aftermarket always needed when details are that good, keep up the great work!!
Awesome work, very informative. I like how you displayed ratios and airbrush pressure etc. 😊👍👍👍
I like your technique for masking the black anti glare area. What is the tool and brand name of the device that you used to cut the nice circle on the masking tape?
best modeler in youtube👍
Nice model my friend.good weathering. I believe that A7 only carry the fuel tanks on the inner pylons only.Again great job.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I am not happy with the loadout :( I will change the loadout with some Mks.
Not true. Check out the Osprey book "A-7 corsair units of the Vietnam war" plenty of images of them operating with tanks on the outer pylons.
@@stuco81 That is true.
beautiful model, seems It took a lot of work!, but it worth it man!!. very nice work !!
brilliant craftsmanship!!! do you undertake custom modelling projects of fighter jet models in 1:32 / 1:43 & 1:48 scales for model collectors??? I'm also looking for exquisitely detailed model of the nuclear powered USS John F Kennedy (CV-79) super carrier in 1:18 / 1:32 scale or 1:43 scale & America class amphibious assault ship!!! please advise!!!

Amazing footage, content and soundtrack!
very nice!!
Greatings from a scale channel from germany
I have no words.... fantastic job!!!
Thank you for the reply. I refer back to that build alot, I must have missed it somehow. Thanks again!

Another great job. May I ask the name of the tool you used to cut the circle out of the tape. Thank you.
Wow, a fantastic build!!!
Amazed to see Aires that fits well...
给人另外一种奇特的海军战机旧化思路,非常棒的视频!
Excellent piece of work!
Wonderful - can I ask where you got the metal clamps pls
very good model and nice video.. excelent job my dear..
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well done sir! I have a couple of questions: 1) What airbrush model/maker/brand and what air pressure are you spraying when weathering? 2) MEK and Glue? Do you mix the two together? 3) What alcohol based thinner do you use or is it just 92% Alcohol from the pharmacist shop? 4) What brand of Epoxy are you using? I have not seen that brand before.

Wow super, What kind off glue is that ,Tamiya extra thin cement?
Thank you! Nope, it's MEK (Butanone)
Děkuji za vaše videa, moc hezká práce.
Easy to say it's worth it, AFTER all the hard work is done - lol! A lot of time and effort went into this, though, with a bunch of tips and techniques thrown in (as always) - great job!!!
question is thought where did you get those nice small clips your using to hold things at 13:07
Again perfect work my friend! Liked the little tutorial on how to correct apply putty! And also thank you for showing us your dillution of your paint job!
Lovely model and great skills.
Especially your ability to keep your nails clean while painting! 😄
Bravo.
Fantastico trabajo. Gracias por compartirlo
Beautiful build. Thank you.
Brilliant mate! Good job!
Very nice work as always!
Fantastic job, good model 👍👍👍
excellent work, great for learning, only one question did you add a matt coat after all the weathering? thanks!
Thanks! Ah yes I missed that.
Great kit
Un buen trabajo, mi enhorabuena . Un grato saludo desde Madrid, te sigo por tu página, Saludos.
I love the hasegawa A-7 still the best and most accurate one in 1/48 scale.
I'm wondering which Hasegawa Weapons Set would be the correct kit for this model ? I'd like to do a weapons load out but not sure of the Hasegawa Weapons A, B, C, D, etc. would be correct for this period build. Thanks for any help on this.
Excellent work!!
