    Note to beginning modelers that may be watching this video: It isn't as easy to do this as Dusan makes it look. Don't be discouraged if you don't achieve results like this in your early models. I've been doing this for years and can't match this workmanship. I can't believe how steady his hands are!

      I've said the same thing about his steadiness to hold parts.

      if available, especially beginning, or even experienced trying something new, like going to biplanes for first time, best to start with the larger scales. I like 1/48, and will do 1/72 if the real plane was large, like bombers. I don't have space for 1/32, but they would be good if you don't see that well.

    • @skinbackyourpeel
      @skinbackyourpeel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ Mishn0 A bit patronising I think, especially to beginners who need words of positive encouragement only. Every builder builds slightly differently, and the end result to the builder is the most important.

    • @ronschlorff7089
      @ronschlorff7089 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@skinbackyourpeel I did not find his (Mishn0) words "patronizing" at all, only recognizing each person has a different skill level, and should not be discouraged from trying to achieve better over time. Practice does make better, but never "perfect" is the message here. If a builder is satisfied with mediocre results, fine; but most of us, me especially, want to continue to improve our "end result" in model making.

    I'm going to say you're easily one of my favourite modellers on TH-cam, unlike some "pro's" who love to say theirs is the only way of doing things and put down other people's efforts. People should take note on how a real pro does a tutorial. Keep it up!

    I love this plane, have made several "Fishbeds", some in 1/72 and a couple in 1/48. Even converted one to a model rocket. Flies like a "brick", but is very stable, without added fins. Takes off straight then rolls over an does barrel rolls, a real crowd pleaser. Shows how aerodynamically "designed true" the real plane was!!

    • @MF-og1ct
      @MF-og1ct ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The mig 21 is stable at high speed. At low speed like landing and takeoff the thing is very unstable and difficult to control, plus the engine takes forever to spool up. It cannot handle any kind of negative Gs because of the fuel system, and the engine will stall if you go above a very moderate aoa. The thing is a kind of a death trap for those that don't understand it, and that shows in it's safety record. I love this jet because of all its weirdness.

    • @ronschlorff7089
      @ronschlorff7089 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MF-og1ct good information on the real plane, but I was talking of a toy model, makes a great little rocket powered conversion, cuz it flies true and does not "wiggle around" like a lot of plastic model conversions do, looking funky and unreal as a result. I'd recommend this model as a first-time attempt to PMC a model rocket, best in 1/48 scale to begin with. :D

    • @MF-og1ct
      @MF-og1ct ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ronschlorff7089 hmmm, I might have to try and make a large scale model to fly on high power motors....

    • @ronschlorff7089
      @ronschlorff7089 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MF-og1ct yes, a 1/48 would take a C6-3 or C6-5, as I have done with two PMC's. A 1/32 plastic model might take a D or E. What I also did was scratch build a 1/24 scale Mig21, in wood and paper, using "normal rocketry techniques", and flew with a D. Being roughly the same aerodynamics, I was "pleased as punch" with the flight performance. I painted it as a camo scheme, green, brown, tan, gray underside, with some kind of Mid-East markings. Not a PMC, but a "normal" rocket model. I imagine up scaling even much further to take the more powerful composite Aerotech engines could work too. Anything is possible in model rocketry, and as I, and many others I imagine, always say: "what could possibly go wrong?", eh? Cheers! LOL ;D

    • @MF-og1ct
      @MF-og1ct ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ronschlorff7089 Yeah, I have seen some crazy stuff. One guy at my club put a composite motor in a modified umbrella that had a motor mount and fins. When the ejection charge fired a mechanism he machined released the spring opening the umbrella as a parachute.
